Detailed Reviews
Beautiful water views! Older style but clean. Quite expensive but I guess its tourist season! It was lovely to hear the sound of the water rolling on the shore from our bed at night and first thing in the morning. The breakfast area was very popular in the morning and a little crowded but we took our food to the room which we prefer.

Liked · The main sleeping area had been updated nicely and our room was very clean. The view from the room can't be beat. The outdoor area and beach were also clean.
Disliked · We had booked our room through booking.com, which said the property approved an early check in for us. Upon arrival, despite having proof of the approval email, the hotel could not accommodate and apparently knew nothing about the early request. The front desk said she would call us when a room became available, but she never did. When we went back 4 hours later, front desk said that a room was available, but we would need to pay an additional $20 because it was different than what we had booked. We looked up the price of the room on Days Inn's site and it was $20 less. The hotel said that their prices are different from Days Inn's site. Not sure if that is the case, but we felt like we had already lost a bulk of our vacation at this point and paid the extra money. We also had some issues in the room, the sink light didn't work, TV volume fluctuated dramatically, blasting & then quiet. We were going to spend time at the pool, but it looked extremely dirty so we passed. At the end of our stay, we should have let the hotel know of the room issues, but we felt like all we did was complain to the front desk so we just left. We have come to this hotel every year for the last 10 years and never had any of these issues. It was a disappointing stay at a place we normally LOVE.

I stayed here before when it was converted from King Royale to a Days Inn. They lost my reservation during the switchover and I had to rebooked. A year later nothing has changed and you could hardly notice any upgrade since then. "Hot" water was lukewarm in the mornings and evenings. There was only once I timed it right and was able to take a hot water shower. For a national chain the selection of the continental breakfast was less than your usual family owned motel. Instead of using the standard Wyndham coffee cups they use tiny styrofoam ones. Everything reflects the operator's attempt to cut costs. Free coffee was available 24/7 last year and at all other Wyndham places is now eliminated too. The only saving grace is the view of a Lake Huron and a private beach. That said, front desk folks are polite and helpful.

My family stayed at this property for years when it was the K Royale. It was an inexpensive, no frills hotel with good, consistent service. My family stayed last month for the first time since its Wyndham takeover and it's a disgrace. Rooms smell, the pool water is literally green, and staff are clueless. I made a change to my reservation directly through Wyndham to stay one night less than originally planned, received a confirmation email of my new, lesser charge, but was still charged the original amount. Numerous attempts to contact both hotel management and Wyndham directly have not resolved the issue.
Avoid this hotel at all costs after the Wyndham takeover, staff don't recognize changes made to reservations through Wyndham, and actual management (not "front desk manager") will never respond to your concerns.

checked in and was in the room a few minutes when a maintenance man barged into the room did not even knock first was surprised we were in there. Said he had a call an hour ago to fix a towel bar and was just getting to it, He did fix it and left. Tried the TV later in the evening it did not work found out was not plugged in. Plugged it in and still did not work and could smell electrical like something was overheating. Since it was already 10PM and did not really care if we watch or not unplugged and did tell the staff in the morning. My husband is an early riser and went to take a shower and there was not any hot water. We noticed the same maintenance person at 7:30 go into to the room with the hot water heaters and just before we checked out at 8:30 we had hot water. Checking out I informed the front desk we did not have hot water and they pretty much told me it was my fault because I did not call. Pretty sure it would not have made a difference. Then I was told too many people were showering at the same time. Not sure many were up at 6:45 AM would not stay again

The room was very clean. The hotel was situated so that most or possibly all rooms had a view from the parking lot (door) and a view from the beach (balcony). That was a really nice feature, I've not found before.
It appeared that the low pile carpet had been recently replaced and was quite attractive. The bed was comfortable.
It was also a nice touch, that there was a beach side playground and an area to have a camp fire if guest chose to do so.
The only downside was minor, single handle for tub (personally dislike) so difficult to get water temp just right. But that's just me. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Breakfast was a little more than the standard muffins juice and coffee, but not a full breakfast. We chose to hit a diner instead for more options.

The property has an amazing lakefront view. Unfortunately, the property is old, smelly and expensive and we were prepaid, not refundable! Lesson learned. We turned the faucet on to make a cup of coffee and rusty water came out. The sun came up and the kids were thrilled to have stars on the windows. It was actually sun shining through worn spots on the curtains. The pool has green water in it in the middle of the summer.

It’s the type of hotel you would pay $75.00 a night for anywhere else. The view is the only real reason to stay here. The room is very dated, think 1970s with Gold tub and toilet. The room smells very musty and even though we sprayed air freshener it didn’t help. The tv sound goes up and down on its own. There is no breakfast due to Covid but no masks are worn and no housekeeping provided.it seems some hotels do whatever benefits them and call it Covid related. We expected breakfast and inquired and they had some packages with 3 different items behind the desk. There is an old derelict car with no license plates parked in the rear of the hotel that never moved the whole time we were there. Get rid of it Days Inn!
Trash dumpsters should be placed out of sight. Not overflowing within my beach view. Asked to get new sheets because there was a dead bug on mine. I was told they would be delivered 7 hours ago. The internet has been down for at least 5 hours. I would stay somewhere else.

The rooms in the Days Inn in St. Ignace have a fantastic view of the Lake Huron and Mackinac Island. The property itself is in need of updating and repairs. The cable system was limited to a couple of channels, nothing local. The wi-fi was spotty, too. After the air freshener wore off, there was a faint smell in the room. I would check other lodging options in the St. Ignace area before staying at the Days Inn.

No elevators. Walls are paper thin so most noise will come from neighbors and their coming and going as well.
Im not sure of their policy regarding animals. You will probably have to call the motel directly for that information. Many motels do allow pets under a certain size and weight.
