We have booked an offer for one night including Spa and dinner in the two star restaurant. Beside the greeting after arrival - which was a little bit cold in my view - everything was great. The Spa is small but has a pool, a relax area, saunas and one Hamam. The room was great! The dinner was incredible!! The service in the restaurant was outstanding! If you are smoker, take enough cigarettes. The next tabac shop is in Germany at the border, 20 minutes away.
This hotel is full of charm, service and an excellent restaurant. Beautiful combo of historic and modern luxury, Michelin 2 star dining experience, excellent breakfast buffet as well. My husband and I would love to return to stay again!
We booked a nice suite for 2 nights and made a reservation in the restaurant for 2 nights (confirmed by mail) and at arrival on Saturday there was no reservation in the restaurant and they put a really small table near the fireplace for us to enjoy our dinner. Dinner and wines was ok!.Next evening we expected a much better table but again a small one (the only one) was ours.We were the only not French/German people in the house and maybe that was our problem but we did spend a lot (room, dinner and wine) so maybe you may expect some (extra) service. The breakfast lady was the best and she did not care if you were German, French or Dutch..se did her work with a smile.
Two years after being wowed by our dining experience, we had a repeat performance with an immaculately conceived menu ( canneloni of fois gras and wild mushrooms!!!!) whats not to like, all supported by knowledgeable and courteous . The rooms are delightful , clean and fresh and the spa a great antidote to a days walking. We will be back next year. Thank you.
You have many less expensive options that are quite good in the region, but the service and comfort are top-notch at Auberge du Cheval Blanc. The staff are friendly and helpful — and several remembered me from a visit over a year ago. This was more than simply a good database, as one mentioned details that would not be captured in a file. Very impressive! I enjoy sleeping with open windows and listening to a nearby clock chime during the night. The fact that an excellent restaurant is downstairs and another great restaurant very near is a plus. This northern region of Alsace has beautiful scenery and wonderful, quaint small villages and great wine. It is much less congested than the better-known regions further south.
