Check in was quick and friendly. We rented the suite and it's huge. Living space, very nice kitchen area. Large bedroom with a big closet that teens set up a table and declared it their game room. Smaller room also with queen. Living areas, bedrooms and bedroom have wear but all very clean. Great price for so much space. The suite had a porch with chairs you could sit on. Great central location to restaurants and grocery. For a family of 4 you really can't beat this if you want space. The downside (ie why 4 instead of 5 stars)...the whole suite is slightly crooked ...ie it's slanty...this did not bother us all and ...we said its like a fun house (not that obviously, we are just silly people). The fridge is loud (did not affect sleeping as we had bedrooms.)...the pillows were rock hard. I would have liked a shampoo and conditioner instead of 2 shampoos in the room. I woke up thinking someone had turned on a light because it was so bright. Just blinds so curtains so if you need it dark stay elsewhere. All in all we would choose this place again.…
I hate to write negative reviews because I know these places need as much business as possible during the winter months but if you are at all a light sleeper DO NOT stay here. The heating pipes run through the basement or crawl space and make noise the entire night. This could just be a winter issue. The staff was friendly and the rooms were decently clean.
The room we had looked nothing like any of the pictures. We had #16 with one queen bed. Tiny tiny room. One ceiling light and one table lamp that didn't work well emphasized the darkness. This room needs serious updating. And a good cleaning, the tray under the coffee maker was disgustingly filthy. Bottom of the shower curtain was pink, not sure if stained from the water or moldy. Strange noise periodically during the night, probably the baseboard heat. Thin curtains that didn't block out the light, and paper thin towels. Chose this place because we were traveling with a dog and they allow pets. Very close to a busy road but noise wasn't really a problem. Staff was helpful.
The stay at the Superior Motel and Suites was a disappointment. There were weeds in the bathroom window, a dirty shower that needed repairs, a stool that didn’t flush properly, electric wires everywhere – when do I stop? The promotional photos did not represent the condition of our room. We can not recommend this place under any circumstances.
Superior has a nice curb appeal. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean but outdated. The cost of the room should have been about $75.00 but we had to pay $165. The problem is there are not many reasonably priced places to stay in the area. The advantage of this motel is that it’s very close to the cruise line, which offers trips to see the NP.
First of all the pictures do not represent the rooms. We had three rooms. Second, the bathroom floor, window area were a mess, flooring coming up. Tile falling off the walls. Two queen beds in a tiny room. Frig, micro, coffee pot and tiny TV all on a tiny desk which was plugged into power strip. No place to power up our phones or tablets without unplugging something. Curtains had holes in them. Towels were very worn. I wont get into the bedding. Walls had stains on them. This is a very over priced dump.
The check in girl was very nice. The 2 bedroom unit is not too bad, but the bathroom needs alot of work, old worn out tub, floor worn. The fan in second room was very dirty. It was nice they gave you sack breakfast if you asked in lobby. Quiet stay, location good, cheapest stay I found in Munising.
Motel from outside looks pretty nice, but our room was rather old and dumpy. Not many places to eat nearby but it was ok for a one night stay. The price of the room was reasonable...considering most motels up north are much higher priced than usual. Believe this is due to covid effects and the fact that most places are having problems hiring staff, Finding this is a problem all throughout the north area as far as staffing in restaurants and hotel/motels. Lots of people getting out again, places are booked, but no staff to help. Very sad.
Stayed here for one night in a room with two queen beds. The lay out was akward for sure - hard to walk around. It was okay clean wise - hair in some towels, stains on sheets -old set in, someone else popsicle stick on the head board, ants in the bathroom. Honestly it was a meh stay. Covid has taken so much from mom and pop hotels and I feel like this is one of the places that has suffered for sure. They are pet friendly and the staff that I saw was nice. Id give them one more chance as it wasnt so bad I felt we had to leave - just little things that have been missed. Definitely needs updating and the bathroom in our room needs to be gutted and deep cleaned.
The "kitchen" looked like it was from the set of the Brady Bunch! Floor felt spongy like I would step through it. Shower was redone by someone who was neither a carpenter or a tile specialist. Looked like a Handy Manny special. Walls were paper thin, not quite at all. Way over priced for the quality. Plenty of better and more modern hotels in walking distance. Only redeeming feature was it is dog-friendly.
