We were in 3 friends, we got a self catering unit that was divided in kitchen, room num 1 with a toilet and 2 singles bed and room num 2 with a toilet and a double bed. Simple and good place. They have a pub with pool table what's great, you can drink and don't need to leave the premises. Fair place for a fair rate.

Great hospitality, and definitely the best pub in town. A very convenient place for a stay over at Graskop or the area in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Rooms are basic, but were clean and equipped with all necessities.

Place was dirty, laundry was stained, spiders in my bed, spider webs between the beds. Cockroaches & mosquitoes everywhere. No tv & spoon to make coffee. There was no heater. When we wanted to go to the pub/restaurant for some warmth they did not even have wood for the fire place. I'm sorry but for the outside to be nice & neat but the inside to be filthy is unacceptable for somewhere that tourists come to stay. Like one of the reviewers said, prison would have been better and cleaner.

We travelled 4 hours to Graskop and booked in at the Summit Lodge about 15:00 paying the balance for the two night of Friday and Saturday we have booked for. The receptionist took me to our Rondavel. When she opened it it smelt musty inside. There was only lace curtains on the front door window facing the public road and a flimsy thin wooden type curtain behind the main bed. I complained that these curtains supplied very little privacy at night and that we will have to dress inside the bathroom. There was also no TV and when asked the answer was that it was lightning damaged and in the stores. They offered us the only bungalow with a TV which was furnished with old fashioned kitchen chairs and definitely not conducive for a romantic stay. Since I have already paid in full I decided to take the first rondavel we were booked in and Started taking off a curtain from the lare window and Hung it on the curtain rails behind the bed. The receptionist then said she will get curtains from another bungalow. She ended up hanging a single bed duvet over the curtain rails behind the front door. It looked horrible. We were tired and decided to take a nap before dinner. At dinner time we asked for the menu and was surprised to see how much they were charging for fillets, rumps Eisbein etc and settled on a T/bone for my wife and the Eisbein for myself. This is where the fun started. They did not have a T/bone, neither a fillet nor the Eisbein and when asked what they had they offered my wife and myself spare ribs or fish and chips. I got up and we went into Town and found a Portuguese restaurant with also a limited menu but at least we were able to eat. Needless to say we will never ever go back to Graskop again. I have notified the group that promoted the Summit Lodge and have since not heard anything from them either

Dear Erich, we regret to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us and that the meals you wanted to order on the menu was out of stock at that time, we do apologize for the inconvenience. If you say the room had a musty smell, please keep in mind that these rooms are thatched roof rondavels and Graskop are situated on a mountain, witch means it's a very moist area. You are also the only guest who has ever complained about our curtains, the lace curtain you are referring to are hanging behind the entrance door, why get dressed behind the entrance door when we gave you one of our biggest rondavel's with it's own kitchenette, and a very big area for dressing. The entrance door do not face the main road it faces an open field, and we did replace the lace curtains early the next morning with darker curtains for your 2 night stay. The wooden type curtain's you are referring to are called blinds and you can adjust them to give you more privacy. We apologize that some of our vintage furniture are not your personal preference. We do strive to give all our guest's the most comfortable stay, so we do once again apologize that we did not meet your expectations. We thank you for your review and we will certainly make some changes. Have a blessed day. Kind regards, Alischia

Nice quiet lodge on the outskirts of town. Easy to get around to all the sites and activities in the area. Breakfast was good as were the rondavels(rooms) and the pool. They even had a pub and restaurant on the premises that look quite cosy, but we did not eat here. Only downside was a relative small area where wi-fi was available.
