Travellers' Choice
Situated on the outskirts of Graskop and overlooking the beautiful Mpumalanga escarpment you will find our Guest farm. The name ZUR ALTEN MINE is German and means "to the old mine". In the old days there was a private gold mine on this 10.5 Hectare property. Our guest farm is ideally situated to explore the Panorama Route with its spectacular view sites such as Gods Window, the Bourke's Luck Potholes and the Blyde River Canyon .

My wife and I stayed at Zur Alten Mine for a week on our honeymoon getaway at the Lake View Lodge. It was truly a fantastic experience and the owner Rainer made us comfortable and he provides excellent service. Definitely recommended.

The details of our trip kept changing due to friends dropping out last minute, yet Rainer kept on doing his best to accommodate us. The unit where we stayed was clean, spacious and met all of our requirements. The property is large, so you feel a real sense of privacy in your own space. The grounds are well kept. There is a large indigenous forest with well marked trails on the property. I will definitely go back to stay there again!

We loved our week here! Rainer and Walli have created a beautiful oasis tucked away in the trees. From the immaculate, comfy cabin and lovely grounds, to restaurant tips and help organising our day trip to Kruger Park, we felt totally taken care of at Zur Alten Mine. It's a stone's throw from Graskop and ideally located to explore the Panorama Route. We will definitely be back!

The cabin we stayed in was clean and well furnished, the curtains were a little small and some windows didn't open fully but it was rustic and very cosy. The whole atmosphere was calm and enjoyable, the other cabins were quiet and not too close together. The facilities were good and there is an enjoyable walk with spectacular views to Graskop. Would highly recommend and would stay there again!
