Amanda is amazing! So prompt in her responses on the booking.com chat feature.

We had stayed here in March this year & I loved the place so much, that I didn’t have to think twice before booking again. (I rarely return to the same hotel, I prefer to stay in a different part of the city or experience a different stay option)

The place has an old world charm & decor, but all modern amenities. We LOVED the electric blankets, such a soothing sleep after the bumpy journey (roadworks).

Amanda is also a font of information on all local knowledge. So gracious with her recommendations. We loved the boat company she recommended for our Blyde canyon ride and all her local dining suggestions.

Just a small note : The sink / washbasin is the old /British style one, keeping with the decor & ethos of the place. So the hot and cold water taps are separate. But it’s not the most convenient option on a cold winter morning, takes a lot of juggling between the 2 taps. Not that this will stop us from returning - even if it’s winter time. In summer, there's absolutely no trouble. Water pressure is great.

The upstairs rooms are accessed via a narrow circular staircase. My sister managed it easily with her hand luggage sized bag, but it will be difficult to manage with larger suitcases or people with mobility issues.

We have stayed in both the downstairs double bedrooms and those don't have any accessibility issues.

Stayed for one night en route to Kruger. After being in Johannesburg felt very peaceful and calm. Very old world accommodation lovely furnishings .Good communication prior to arrival and advice re road conditions. Offered a choice of rooms, opted for a lovely ground floor room as I had brought our suitcases in and meant we didn t have to carry them upstairs. Gave information on local walks which was helpful. FORTUNATELY the lady had ignored me when she had asked if I would like a reservation making at a local restaurant when I had said we would just decide on arrival as Graskop isn't a huge place and it was a Sunday night so we would have gone hungry without her kind intervention and the meal was lovely. Room very spacious and clean . There was load shedding the following morning and we hadn't opted for breakfast being keen to get off but coffee, tea freely available

This is truly a wonderful accommodation, spotlessly clean and comfortable.
It is located in the center of Graskop making it an ideal location for those travelling the Eastern Transvaal. The owner and stuff is friendly and the place serves a very good breakfast.

We stayed 3 nights in Dec with our 2 young boys. Such a quaint and lovely place kept in tip top condition. Adele and Sorada were such great hosts as well making sure we had everything we needed including making a reservation for us at The Glass House and preparing dinner and breakfast if we needed and requested beforehand. The accommodation is also only a stone's throw from the restaurants and shops along the main street. If you're intending to stay in Graskop while visiting the Panorama route, I'll highly recommend you giving A Pilgrim's Rest a try.

We enjoyed every minute at this beautiful Lodge. After a warm welcome we could sit at the fireplace, while it was grey and cool outside. We decided to have dinner and breakfast at the Lodge, everything was fresh and delicious, and the excellent variety of wines made our supper just perfect.
Sad we already had to leave the next morning towards Kruger, we would have loved to stay longer.
A big thank you to the hosts which made our stay so wonderful.

Thank you Fortuna!
for this beautiful home while traveling so many places - it really felt like coming home! Lovely hosts - perfectly helpful even in unforeseen circumstances - welcome you to a stylish cosy, beautiful house with a lush peaceful garden. After tight sleep a freshly cooked, healthy breakfast is waiting for you. And, if required, delicious dinner plus local wine after a day in the beautiful landscape..

As has been said, it's a bit like a period museum. Wonderful hospitality and helpful people. Nice big bedroom, bed and shower room : heating appreciated!
Estelle was great, booking us in at the Glasshouse for dinner.
Breakfasts could perhaps have been hotter and more plentiful, with more choice.

It was a really cosy stay!
Each room was different and the style was amazing.
The backyard had several seats to have a drink.
The host Adele was great! She made us a reservation at a local restaurant for the day of our arrival.
