The room we had was comfortable and the view lovely. The breakfast was excellent. The bathroom layout was odd, but worked okay. Sherry provided to ward off the cold and very cosy bed. The hosts were friendly and gave recommendations for the area.

We stayed at Westlodge for only one night, enroute to Kruger. What an interesting place! It has the vibe of an old English villa. Well maintained - the gardens in particular are stunning, including statuary! The rooms were clean and spacious, and the beds were quite comfortable. Decor is a bit dated, and the room configuration is quirky - the ensuite bathroom is actually ensuite - shower, tub and sink separated from the living / sleeping area by a screen / partition (the toilet was separated in its own enclosure). Being there in winter, supplemental heat was required - a portable radiator and electric blankets were provided. Breakfast was fantastic! A fruit and yogurt parfait was followed by a hot entree of eggs, bacon and toast. The chefs were flexible, and willing to customize to meet dietary restrictions. Dinner, while not included, was also offered, although we chose to walk into town and try out one of the local restaurants. Overall, a nice, welcoming place in a location convenient to Kruger.

The people at Westlodge are all fantastic - friendly and helpful and chatty and enthusiastic. So it’s difficult to criticize as I don’t want to hurt feelings. But my honest view is that Westlodge falls short of the 4 Star experience. It seems to tick all the right boxes but still it doesn’t hit the mark - especially not compared to the 4 Star that came before and after on our trip. Granted we were there in winter and there was loadshedding! But it was so so cold. There was a fireplace but it was only lit at our request and, had it been running all day, it would have gone a long way to warming the whole house. The electric blankets were old so they didn’t really warm up nicely. The room heater was inadequate for the size of the room and it wasn’t safe to leave on while we were out. AirCon could have solved both of those issues. The bathrooms were clean but required maintenance - our shower door attached to the bath was glued in place so it was impossible to reach the taps without standing in the tub - fine for showering but not for bathing. The hot water only lasted for one bath and then it was finished. If I were to visit the sights in the area again, I’d likely choose to stay outside of Graskop and travel the extra distance. Westlodge was certainly the best that Graskop has to offer. I am without doubt that the people at Westlodge work with love in their hearts and are doing their best. Perhaps some trips to other 4 Star B&Bs would help them to understand why I say that this one fell short.

The lodge is located in a great little town in reach of all the sites gods window Lisbon and Belfast waterfalls and has great retardants for lunch and dinner I left feeling like the fat pig which was nice returns 😁 The chef was fantastic and tried his best to ensure we experienced all the flavours of South Africa at both breakfast and dinner We had the old chapel room it was fine very clean and had all the modern facilities The dinning room could do with a little modification and heating it was 1 degree at night and my watch thermometer said it was 8 degrees inside not pleasant when trying to enjoy a meal But the meal was fantastic😁😁

I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel looked even nicer in real life than it did on the pictures. They had sweets, coffee, tea and really nice whiskey put out for us. I thought that was really nice. And they had electric blankets, which I appreciated, since the weather in Graskop can get very cold. Very clean too and really friendly staff. Breakfast was amazing👌🏾

We had a delightful stay this weekend. The B&B exceeded our expectations in a small town. The home is lovely and well appointed, yet comfortable. Dot was a gracious hostess. Our room was spacious and the bed was perfect. The home-made meals were yummy and the gourmet breakfast delicious! It was a memorable weekend.

Not the first time staying at Westlodge. This time, my wifey was with. We had an excellent time, food were upper class, reception by Andre and Dot, a pleasure. Gustav, always willing to assist, and interesting chats. We had a 5 day stay. The chefs inform us of what they preparing, and we were able to shift our breakfast and supper times. Will for sure see me a 3rd time. Thank you Gustav and staff.
