Toshari Lodge garners acclaim for its excellent service, with guests often noting the staff's warmth and professionalism. The amenities also receive high marks, including the pristine pools and diverse dining options, all set within tranquil outdoor spaces perfect for unwinding. While the lodge's atmosphere is cherished for its cultural authenticity and picturesque setting, a few functional design issues have been mentioned. Travelers feel they receive good value, particularly enjoying the quality coffee, exciting excursions, and charming bungalow decor. Room comfort and cleanliness are consistently praised, although some guests find the family rooms a bit tight and storage scarce.

Bungalow with decor but only one hook in the whole room, with a small closet that’s half the height of a normal closet so basically there’s nowhere you can hang your clothings. Not only that, in the bathroom there’s no shelf to put the shampoo and body wash so they just leave the bottles on the floor….in a resort so nice and relaxing outside it’s hard to imagine the interior design is so weird and non-functional, given the room itself is quite spacious. Patio outside bungalow was also good to enjoy the nature.

WiFi is very strong all through the resort. Lots of nicely organised space for relaxing after outings. The whole outdoor area was well groomed and maintained well and there didn’t seem to have a lot of mosquitoes (end of July).

Breakfast buffet although not super big selection, was good enough for a morning’s start, especially the bacon was grilled on open fire! Super tasty! Egg station master was also professional too (he sometimes had to run to double as the open fire grill master for the game sausages and bacon!) Light Lunch was good with various choices….drinks are good too, with a great selection of cocktails and mocktails!
Dinner buffet was a good time for everyone to share as game drive experiences earlier…while enjoying various meats grilled on open fire (whether you like certain organ meats or not!)

The spa: I had a 60 min hot stone full body massage, which was very relaxing. The friendly massage lady cared very much about how I felt and kept checking on me!

Big Thank to the restaurant team for arranging a wonderful birthday cake and flowers for me! Your songs every night were amazing!

I spent one and a half day staying behind to enjoy the resort while the others were out gaming….that tells how much I enjoyed it here.

My wife and I had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay at Toshari Lodge on our way to Etosha. It is located next to the main road and within easy driving distance from the park gate. Booking in was a breeze with very friendly staff and our unit was very good, well sized with shower, basin and toilet as well as an area to prepare coffee from the equipment and complimentary sachets. Air conditioner is included and a necessity in January in Namibia and the bed is equipped with a good mosquito net. We enjoyed a trouble-free sleep. Dinner and breakfast were served buffet style at the central dining area and the items were varied and tasty including some local venison. Swimming pools and towels are available and a good place to enjoy a cold sundowner after a day's traveling. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can recommend the lodge to other travelers.

I have never ever written a review before but I believe that this place needs to be highlighted due to the experience my family and I had.
So knowing that this place had no wild life watering hole was a big downer for us but following the advise from two friends that run tour guide business in Namibia we booked.

From the first transaction which involved changing our booking till leaving was an experience not just filled with the utmost professionalism ,capped with a smile and sincerity.

Walking into the reception area is not just awe inspiring but immediately makes you feel you have walked into something special.
The accommodation was well done and neat with your place nestled away in the wilderness with foot paths to each unit

The staff was polite, helpful and made our family feel welcome in every sense.

Situated 40 Km from Etosha National Park we eliminated the concern about the animals. We took our own vehicle to experience the park but the place has its own game drive tours that speaking to the other tourist was a great experience.
Due to the ability to eat at 6 am breakfast. We could enter the park by 7am and have great time looking for animals. Then be back for lunch and relax the afternoon hanging out at one of the 4 pools with a beverage. This part was great as it never felt that it was overcrowded.

As we spent the days in park for lunch we did not eat lunch at the lodge but we did eat breakfast and dinner.
Regarding the breakfast it had a variety of options. As someone that starts my day with coffee this is always important and they did not disappoint on this small but important detail.
Dinner was not included in the price but it was a fair price for the value we received.
What I loved about the buffet dinner is that the meet was cooked in front of you to your liking. The spread was not overwhelming with choices but well thought off and catered to every one.

In short we had high expectations and they met and exceeded them.
Thank you to all involved in this Lodge.

This property is a comfortable stay a 25-minute drive from the Anderssons Gate entrance to Etosha National Park. Other lodges are nearer. Check in for our two-night stay was smooth and efficient and the staff are very good at details and knowing how to suggest things to make your stay happier, such as suggesting a packed lunch for your all day game drives. The day and half of game drives I had provided with the Toshari Lodge were excellent with lots of sightings from the open sided vehicle. Dinner and breakfast are extensive buffets. The evening meal featured stir fry and BBQ featuring game meats and other foods and the staff choir were entertaining Lunch at the lodge is very good, with generous portions and the waiting staff are very attentive and efficient. Our room was huge, like a chalet, so big it had two extra single beds in it! It had air conditioning, a table, lots of plugs and lights, which are solar powered like the rest of the rest of the site, very environmentally friendly. The safe wasn’t usable though as the previous occupants left it locked, there is no TV, the wardrobe is small, and the USB ports didn’t seem to work. The small patio at the back of the room was very pleasant so it was nice to sit outside. The Lodge also has a small outdoor pool and a souvenir shop. The paths to the main building are a little dark at night so we sometimes used a torch. Overall though we had a very pleasant stay, and it was a good base to explore Etosha from.

This is the only lodge on our trip that I would not recommend or book again.

Here you can clearly see what happens when the management doesn't work.

The lodge was well booked, but it seems that the money is not invested in maintaining the facility.

The manager regularly walked through the facility with her trainee (daughter?), but never spoke to a guest. She probably had her family visiting and they had her full attention.

On the first evening there was a power outage, it took an hour to fix it. From that moment on there was no WiFi in the lodge. Nothing was done about it.

The manager explained that this was a regional problem and had nothing to do with the lodge's server.

At the reception you regularly heard comments about technical defects (no hot water, toilet doesn't drain, etc.)

The outside area was in a very poor condition. Missing stones in the walkway also represent a tripping hazard - especially in the evening when it is dark.

There are 3 pools, but only 2 parasols. The cushions on the sun loungers were torn and falling apart. No one cleaned the pools, and there was no net to do this yourself.

The staff were inattentive and seemed disinterested. No one approached the guests proactively - as the management sets an example.

The only bright spot was the kitchen. The food was excellent. However, this does not excuse the many shortcomings of the lodge.

We loved Toshari Lodge - it was one of our favourite places in a month long trip to Namibia and South Africa. The room was spacious and well decorated with a lovely outdoor area overlooking the bush. The dinner and breakfast were high quality and the singing by the staff after dinner was delightful. The pools looked lovely though we didn’t use them. The staff were friendly and we felt it was very reasonably priced for a lodge of this standard. Highly recommended!

We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights when we went to Etosha National Park. We stayed in small bungalows which are down little pathways, separate enough for privacy. The room had a large double bed with mosquito nets and a large window and patio area you could relax in & watch any birds in the vegetation. The restaurant was part of the reception area. We had the buffet for dinner, which was plentiful, not sure it had much variety for vegetarians as Namibia is very much a meat eating country. But salads & veggies were always available. The staff were all friendly, helpful and in the evening would perform a traditional song & dance. I believe there were 3 different swimming pools but we didn’t use them so can’t comment. Overall it was a lovely lodge & the accommodation & staff were perfect for our needs.

This is a lodge for everybody - in a good way.

It is a big lodge, but it feels more like a boutique or family run hotel. Individualists and bus tours, singles, couples, and families will all feel welcome here. Super comfy, super affordable, surpassing expectations.

The food was also really good. Dinner was a buffet with the kitchen staff singing everybody evening.

We booked 2 private game drives, which ended up to be terrific.

However, when we were there in the beginning of January, the area around Okaukoejo Rest Camp in Etosha National Park wasn't very productive in terms of game spotting, although we saw springbok, zebras, giraffes, 2 lions and a few rhinos.

If you decide to take or join a game drive from the lodge in the rainy season, we would highly recommend the full day drive. It will take you to the area of Halali Reat Camp, which had a higher concentration of game when we visited.

Be aware of the 25km distance to Anderson Gate, which can be streneous!

We arrived at the lodge, made the reservation with booking.com, as soon as we arrived we checked in and they gave us a room a little far from the reception, but so far everything was fine, as soon as we entered we noticed that the Wi-Fi it didn't work and even worse, there was whitish putrid water in the boiler used to make some coffee. I went to the reception to ask for an explanation and without batting an eye they told me that the internet sometimes doesn't work well and as far as the boiler is concerned we have to clean it ourselves. I insisted on sending someone to replace it but they said they don't have another boiler. We then decided to cancel our overnight stay at this facility unfortunately without a refund and I urge those reading to be careful when booking at the Toshari Lodge so as not to have surprises like ours. No apologies from the management who did not hesitate to make us pay the same for the 2 nights, never again
