About
Certificate of Excellence
Ongava Tented Camp is tucked into a hidden valley at the foot of a dolomite hill in Ongava Game Reserve bordering Etosha National Park. Eight large comfortable Meru-style tents all have en-suite facilities, open air showers and private verandas; the family unit sleeps four. The main area, built of stone, canvas and thatch, fronts onto a much-frequented waterhole; watching wildlife coming to drink from here or from the swimming pool is a favourite pastime.Ongava's proximity to Etosha allows for game drives in the National Park and on the Ongava Reserve itself. Other possibilities include guided walks, birding and spending time in hides. Ongava holds one of the largest rhino custodianships for the Namibian government in the country and is one of the few private game reserves in southern Africa where guests can see both black and white rhino.

Great place to stay - one night here and one at Ongava Lodge as last minute change of plans and preferred here. Lovely staff and great game drives with friendly, helpful and knowledgeable guide. Highly recommended.

Our stay at Ongava Tented Camp was quite exhilarating. Lion prides nearby and a watering hole right in front of the lodge. The tents were quite comfortable. The meals were delicious. The guided rides with Michael, our guide, were great. He searched through the preserve...More

The camp is quite nice, with a pool and friendly staff. The meals were well proportioned and kept us going all day. We saw more big wildlife while on the ongava property than we did in Etosha, including rhino and elephants. The Etosha trip was...More

Game reserves are nothing without game and thankfully Ongava did not let us down - each drive within the reserve was fantastic and easily better than other reserves we stayed at around Etosha. It's a big enough reserve to make each drive different but no...More

Yes, there are. Two or three. We charged our devices during the day. The Tented Camp is solar powered so daytime charging is advised. The low voltage lighting does work at night.
