We had a wonderful 2 days at Mushara Lodge- it's an old style , comfortable lodge (like visiting your stylish granny on her farm). Lovely bedroom, expansive grounds with fabulous birds and wildlife (warthogs and banded mongoose on the lawns) and comfort- tea in teapots with a biscuit , gins and tonices, cold towels and iced lemon drinks on your arrival.

After all the stresses and strains of the year 2020 with Covid and its related complications to travel my wife and I decided to break away for a few days within Namibia to celebrate my 60th birthday. After being on the interned we decided on Mushara Lodge 8 km from the Namutoni, Etosha, gate. The booking was handled cordially and response was without much delay and ado....... Handled profesionaly to say the least On arrival we were met by an extremely friendly and competent Sakkie, who turned out later to be the Manager. Althoug it was quite early our rooms were ready on arrival and we were assisted with our luggage to our rooms from the parking area. Check in also was without any hassle whatsoever and from arrival to being settled in could not have been much more than ten minutes. The rooms are modern, spacious, a very nice shower and all and more ammenities on hand. Beds were very confortable and A/C working well, which, for 40 degrees and coming from the Coast is a rather important feature. Double handbasins ALWAYS for a couple is a plus point for that early morning "clean up/shower and shave rush" and avoids early morning arguments ! All in all super room. The lodge itself is in a very pleasant surrounding with a very nice pool on a well kept lawn and gardens. The reception area and lounge area is exceptionally stylishly furnished and really confortable to sit and relax. The bar area is nice and the wine selection very good ! Bar/Wine price we found very reasonable even for good imported wines. It has to be mentioned that the food, for a locally trained chef, was exceptional and food quality really good. The dinner settings were rather romantic at candlelight outside under the trees.Honestly , I dont think I have eaten chicken breast for the last twenty years as I normally decline due to it being dry. We were offered stuffed chicken breast one even and I negatively agreed ( my wife smiled) and I was so pleasantly surprised............ Food quality overall at the lodge very good ! A very special point that needs mentioning is the staff who are a few cuts above a rest of any of the local staff we have experienced at any lodge in our country. Bernadette is simply a gem of a person and stands out althouth the others are also good. I challenge any Hotel school trained people to give them a go.......! Same goes for Sakkie who was always ready with any small detail to accomodate us. Having been in bussiness for many years and beleiving in human assets the owner has certainly perfected the art of understand that "bussiness is a peoples game" ! More than well worth a visit !

If you plan on visiting Etosha National Park you could not find a more pleasant place to stay than here. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived with a cool & r³efreshing welcome drink, we were escorted to our luxurious villa with a very comfortable bed, and had delicious dinners every night if our stay. We opted to join Isabel for a game drive at 6 in the morning to give us a break from the driving. She was knowledgeable, witty & charming all at the same time. On our first drive we were fortunate to see both Loin & Leopard as well as elephants, zebra & giraffes not something we would have achieved on our own. We chose go go out with her on day 2 & that was even better than day 1 in what we saw. The lodge has a lovely out door pool in safe & well kept grounds. However what makes this place so special is the staff, everyone including shy chef at breakfast made our memories of Namibia something we will always treasure.

A lovely relaxed lodge within a few minutes of Etosha gate. It has an exceptionally nice and large pool, unlike most of the tiny pools we found elsewhere. The chalets are excellent and service and food was good. We were also entertained with (non threatening) wildlife wandering about - antelope, banded mongooses, warthogs.
