Perfect Stop over for going in or out to Etosha

Rooms modern will all comforts. Fridge wit no water! Aircon and fan, dinner was a buffet and I love it, it was perfect. Please try the Eland wit pap and Sheba. It was yummy. Staff are friendly but not so attentive. Breakfast was n let down. Not a lot of options. And had to ask for extra juice. Swimming poop was stunning and the gardens well kept

Enjoyed our stay

Stayed one night on way to Etosha. Better than I was expecting. Positives were a delicious buffet (I don’t normally like buffets!) and decent rooms (a little tired but light and airy). It was quite large with 40+ chalets and it felt a bit like a stopping point for lots of groups. But for ease of breaking up the Grootberg to Etosha East journey, was a good stay.

Good property and great safari drive!

Spaced out cabins that give you private outdoor space and overall privacy. Spacious clean bathroom, in room coffee and tea, sofa and cozy balcony. We also did the 1/2 day game drive with the lodge. Great guide. The hotel was good on keeping schedule…. Focusing on wildlife and making it s great safari experience. Like many other properties you see wildlife on the property. Good food buffet. Great staff. Do recommend.

Convenient and very comfortable

We stayed at the Taleni lodge for one night. It is conveniently situated a couple kilometers outside Etosha NP. We were in lodge 20 which was a 2-3 minute walk from the dining and bar area. Each lodge has a parking spot, ours was a little tight for our SUV. The room was generously sized and comfortable. Bathroom was great too. It needed a blow dryer so I checked one out at the reception. The lodge had a small porch and benches outside which were perfect for enjoying tea and sunrise. Our stay included dinner and breakfast. All was good. They cater to big groups and seem quite busy. So no personal attention anywhere. Bar area was nice to relax in while using their WiFi as the rooms itself do have WiFi access.

Best safari with Herold

Amazing village and Amazing Safari trip with our guide Herold! We saw so many animals, included elephants and rhinos. We also saw a lion and leopard combined attack! Thanks Herold you are the best! We really enjoyed our staying here in Namibia!

Brilliant

We have stayed many times in and around Etosha and this is the best. The rooms are large and spotless and set in natural surroundings, we had Kudu beside our balcony and at dinner, the staff are fantastic and the food is wonderful, many thanks to all at Etosha Village.

Etosha village is nice enough if you were unable to get accommodation at Okaukuejo itself. It's 16km from the park and although it's a nice enough drive, you miss out on early morning and evening game viewings at the famous Okaukuejo waterhole because of the entry and exist times being after sunrise and long before sunset in summer. Only paid game drive activities from the resort are available only on their concession. No children under 10yrs on a drive. There is no view or waterhole at etosha village and nothing exciting to see. No outdoor seating area looking onto the bush or sunset. The rooms are adequate for couples but not for kids. The DIY pullout couch has been built with wrong dimensions so slopes at an angle. The food is the usual full buffet for breakfast and dinner which is nice, however the dining area is in a round stone area with a tin roof so it's very hot and not very welcoming. There are 2 swimming pools and a shallow paddle pool for younger kids which my kids loved.…

Dear Zim Traveller, Thank you for the rating and feedback. Glad your children loved the pools. Etosha Village is 2km (not 16 km) from the entrance gate to Etosha which opens at sunrise and close at sunset. We do offer game drives to Etosha and children of all ages (even under 4 years) are allowed and welcome to join! Each accommodation unit has an outdoor seating area in the form of a patio leading out of the accommodation unit - these all look out to the surrounding Mopani's (density differ in winter and summer times) and roaming wildlife can also be spotted from here. There are 3 dining areas and an extra seating area next to the bar where one are welcome to move to should the dining area allocated not be suitable, uncomfortable or not welcoming enough... Hope we can welcome you back as most issues raised seems to be merely misinterpretations. Best wishes, The Etosha Village Team

Lovely bolt hole close to the park.

Each room is in a separate plot with its own shaded parking. A large lodge room with good bathroom. Effective air conditioning fridge and kettle etc mean this has everything you could want when you wish to escape the park, it’s location means it’s easy to drop back for an afternoon swim and break before returning to the park for sunset. The buffet style food had a good choice, and the resort as a whole a very good 3 stars.

You can really find better places to stay

An employe came into our room with the spare keys and stole money, from the reception nobody even said “what a bad news”. What a worried situation, the manager really doesn’t know how to take care of his clients. I’m an Africa lover and I’ll come back to Namibia but not here.

Dear Claudia, Reception followed procedure to notify our GM and managers who launched an investigation after you reported the incident early on the 24th of November before you left for a game drive. After your return one of our managers reached out to engage in conversation with you about the incident at reception which you unfortunately declined. It is standard practice that housekeeping tends to rooms on a daily base to make up beds, clean the room, put in fresh towels and to refill the coffee/tea station at any hotel or lodge. You were made aware of housekeeping when you checked in and had the opportunity to decline this should you have wished that your room should not be tended to. There is an electronic safe in each room where guests can store their valuables. The investigation is still ongoing and we have an appointment to cross-examine the employee who tended to your room and will provide you with feedback as soon as possible. It is however a pity that you decided to lash out before we had the opportunity to complete the investigation. Best wishes, The Etosha Village Team

Beautiful Surroundings

I stayed here as I ended my stay in Etosha and was getting ready to travel south. I loved the rugged openness of this location. The food was comfortable, the food was plentiful and the staff were attentive and plesant. I enjoyed my short stay very much and if gets my highest recommendation.
