Onguma Bush Camp offers 16 rooms and is ideal for families with children. Family loft rooms ensure the kids will have a great safari. The lounge and dining areas overlook a stunning waterhole that affords great opportunities to see nature at play around the clock. You don’t even have to leave the camp to see game – they come to you! What better place to enjoy a sundowner drink.
The room was beautifully laid out and decorated with a good sized bathroom with shower and storage to the side. There was a small fenced off area just outside which we dried some clothes in. Otherwise we just used the front door. There was a variety of rooms bunched together. Not too crowded. The pool was okay and there was a raised seating area above the pool where you could watch over a very large waterhole. You could see animals coming from a good distance away. There was also a very nice bar and restaurant, with views over the waterhole. We enjoyed the food and the views. We caught up on some laundry at a reasonable price. The blossom on the trees was a fantastic colour. Our game drives were good with a decent variety of animals seen. Including lions.

A fantastic camp. Wonderful facilities in beautiful surroundings. Staff friendly and provided excellent service. Enjoyed a guided trip into Etosha and also a memorable evening meal overlooking the waterhole when lions passed by for a drink. An exciting spectacle for all the guests!

The Lodge is generally nice, the food very good, the staffs helpful and friendly. But there are two points, which we do not like: 1. The Rondavel is quite small. We are traveling six weeks through Namibia with three suitcases. There is almost no space for the luggage. So we left one suitcase in the car and all our clothes etc in the two suitcases . 2. As the pool and sunloungers are located at the nice waterhole, its impossible to relax...especially when kids are in the pool.During our three days, we had families with kids (one family with two young girls are coming from the Campsite, where they pay just 810 NAD, and stayed almost the whole day at the pool.We pay nearly 6000 NAD in the lodge!).Game was disapearing, when the kids make much noise. Its impossible to relax and to enjoy the animals then. The pool area must be located at least 100 mtr away from the peaceful waterhole. This is the main reason, not to book again.…

Thank you for your feedback and commenting on the good food and friendly staff. At Bush Camp we strive to create an environment where families with children can enjoy their time at the camp when not out on a Game drive or Nature walk and are therefor one of the camps that are child-friendly. On Onguma Private game reserve, we also have 3 other camps more suited to your needs that have no fences around (The Fort, Tented Camp and Camp Kala) with a more tranquil environment and wildlife on your doorstep. We hope to welcome you there should you wish to visit Onguma again.

This was our second visit to Onguma Bush Camp and as with other places we had stayed, the staff recognised us and welcomed us back. We stayed in room 1 again which is ‘outside the wire’ and where we had some incredible wildlife viewing experiences last time, and again this time - we even disturbed a sleeping giraffe early one morning! The food was excellent. The breakfast layout is very well done and did not suffer from the same problems we had had at other lodges where the birds are all over the place attacking the food. Here they keep everything in small jars and pots which you take back to your table unhindered. It is also a lot more hygienic too. Choices for breakfast (both hot and cold) were brilliant and the evening meal was just superb, again with great choice and excellent service from the likes of Paavo and Andreas. It is a bit of a trek into the park from here so we did a game drive with the lodge (same as we did last year). Our guide Liberty was great at explaining the conservation aspects of the reserve which we didn’t get told last year, so it was good to hear all the things they’re doing. We weren’t so lucky on the big game that evening, with just a distant lion pride being the most we saw. However, we did see a very rare honey badger which made up for it. I would certainly come back to this fabulous resort…

It's always amazing to hear that we've been successful in our goal of providing our guest with the best possible experience. We have had a pride of lions at the Restaurant waterhole just after you departed and elephants everyday as the dry season comes to an end, hope to welcome you back again to see some more animals on Onguma.

Beautiful lodge, right next to Etosha, in a private game reserve. Large rooms in a lovely garden with a nice swimming pool, and next to a waterhole. Be lucky and seen an elephant come to drink while you're having a delicious dinner (the restaurant is located next to the waterhole as well). Attentive and friendly staff - thank you Andreas for the great service, thank you David for a wonderful one-day game drive into Etosha, and thank you Dirk for helping out with a flat tyre. Highly recommended place to stay!

What a wonderful place this is. Lovely clean comfortable room. Wonderful staff that are very attentive. Excellent food! The presentation and service is what you would expect from a high end restaurant not in the bush. The waiters were outstanding, it was more like silver service. The whole ambiance was out of this world, loved every minute.

2nd round trip through Namibia; after staying on the Waterberg now visit of the Onguma Bush Camp, about 8 km away from the main road and nature reserve. Fantastic lodge with spacious main house (breakfast, dinner), great garden area with its own small lake, great designed small houses (suites) with all imaginable comfort. Service courteous, super attentive, fixed. One notices that the staff is indeed well trained. Food in excellent quality, good standard - there is nothing to complain about. In summary: I can definitely recommend this accommodation. Service and performance absolutely fit. Whether 2 or possibly 3 days - here you can enjoy relaxed.

This is beautifully located lodge very close to Etosha NP. We spent two nights in one of their rondavels. Their property sits at a waterhole where all kinds of animals stop by for a drink. We saw zebras, springboks, other antelopes, jackals. Our room was beautifully furnished with a very comfortable bathroom. My one struggle was with the manual mixing of hot and cold water for showers. It would take me a few minutes to get the temperature right, and then that would change again. The restaurant staff was excellent and provided great service. Front desk staff was hit and miss. A couple of the gals were friendly and welcoming, one or two were curt and didn't look too happy to see us. The lounge area was lovely and relaxing. Food was fine. Breakfast was called "buffet" but most items had to be ordered through the waiters, even for toasting a slice of bread, etc. Dinner was a la carte from a set menu and good too. Service was the best! …

This was a beautiful place with lovely rooms right in the middle of a reserve. We were treated to several giraffes walking by in front of a spectacular sunset and elephants taking a bath while we lunched across the small pond. The food was great as was the service, but you can't beat the environment.
