This Holiday Inn was very clean and in order. Our room was extremely clean and comfortable. The king-size bed was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the convenience and safety of the walk-in shower. Love it that Holiday Inns have replaced their old coffee makers with the single-serve Keurig. Would definitely stay here again in the future.
We arrived early to to the holiday inn. Got checked in and then toured Marquette. By four our room was ready. Clean and spacious. Newly renovated in 2019 it showed. Even though we were on the US 41 side, the noise was minimal. They have a full service restaurant as well as a bar. We had a $30 credit for a full breakfast which was wonderful. Carole our server was both warm and welcoming. Adia checked us out. Again, the friendly IHG way. Highly recommend
The hotel itself was beautiful - as was the room. There was a payment misunderstanding (which happens), but the staff was rude and because I followed their advice, I ended up paying a higher cost than needed. I attempted to resolve the issue with the hotel, but they were combative. I sent a letter to the BBB and Ms. Ann Amstrong (the owner replying to all the complaints here about the hotel quality, moldy room smells and rude staff) replied with a letter alleging that I was rude (was not), that I never contacted expedia (I did) among other falsehoods. The hotel never sought to resolve the issue or reach out to me to fix it. I'm a long-time international traveler so I'm used to hiccups, just not the obstruction, attitude and outright deception of this hotel. Read the reviews below - stay away.…
We stayed here one night during our drive around Lake Michigan. When we got to the room there was an overpowering unpleasant moldy smell. We called the desk, and they said they would send someone up with a different room key. We didn't want to stay in the room, so we waited in the hall, which was a mistake because the hotel was short staffed. Finally we went down to the desk and we were given a key to another room that didn't smell. We were told we would get a free breakfast for the trouble, though we weren't given a voucher and that caused some delays in the morning. The breakfast was very good and the staff there was friendly. But when we went back to our room in the morning, there was the same smell (not overwhelming this time) so there may be a ventilation issue.
Average holiday inn. Hotel is renovated. Plenty of parking. On a busy road under renovation. Close to school university of northern Michigan. and shopping. Plenty of restaurants close by. No differentiation to make this holiday inn stand out above other hotels. Average. Rate paid $145 a night with taxes.
The front desk staff was helpful but the room had a sticky, humid feel to it even though the air conditioner was blowing cold air. The pool water was cloudy and did not smell like any chlorine had been used.
I had the pleasure of working with Ann Armstrong for a group of 150 people. Ann and everyone at this property exceeded all our expectations! If you are looking for a clean full service property look no further. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We are an Automotive touring group and knowing this the staff set up a detail station with cleaning products at no charge. The restaurant and bar staff supply good food & drinks always with a smile. I have worked with many properties over the years but this is one that I will be happy to reach out to in the future. If they have rooms don't hesitate just book it!
A Holiday Inn Hotel is usually the hotel that goes that extra mile to accommodate their guests, well not this hotel. 1. It has a restaurant that was not open ( but not due to COVID, so the staff stated). 2. No breakfast ( you can purchase a bag breakfast for $4.00) Most hotels include this in your stay. 3. The welcoming staff was less than welcoming ( every question I raised was a No response) 4. No cookies, bottles of water, gift bags for IHG Reward Members. 5. No newspapers 6. NO AMENITIES! 7. You pay for a bed~ you get a bed! Seriously not impressed by staff or new renovations. The staff recommended Wendy’s next door, you could walk to the take out window! Or you could walk across a very busy road ( under construction) to Eat at the Big Boy. I requested the total of points I earned at the end of my stay and was told, “ We don’t know, you have to call IHG, we aren’t allowed into their system! I will not return to this hotel!…
This newly updated hotel will not disappoint! The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, the rooms were spacious and clean, and the amenities are lovely! The location is centralized and right off the highway, easy to find and easy to get everywhere you need to be in Marquette. You will be happy with your stay here!
Never stay here with friends or family! Staff threatened to call cops cause door was open so we could walk from room to room! End of night sitting alone with door open still staff still extremely rude said I'd like to talk to manager at front desk and said if I show up at front desk I'll go to jail! Never ever again so rude!
