This was one of many stays at this fine old hotel. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was clean, comfortable, spacious, and with a fine view. We love this hotel and it's location. We will be staying again.

My wife and I have stayed here now 3 times for our anniversary over the last 10 years. It can be a bit on the pricey side, but we enjoy the experience. Its a perfect spot for exploring downtown and the surrounding area. Waterfalls and outdoor activities are so close... We ate downstairs in the pub for the first time, since we arrived on a Sunday evening - lots of places still have limited hours/days because of Covid. We had the whitefish, which was wonderful.

I arrived after a very long 350 mile drive. I check in: they want almost $500 for the room. I tell them I never would book a $500 dollar room...please check my reservation, I say. They say it's $500. I check in, and find my original email confirmation for $275 or so. Go back to the desk. They say "hmm.sorry" and change the rate. I should note, they are currently advertising their KING SUITE (living room, deep four claw tub, etc) for about $275. I get to MY room, sixth floor, next to the lounge, noisy. The room has no robes, no sitting area, no extra towels, not even a couple of bottles of WATER when you arrive. I checked out the next morning....no one asked how my stay was. I would have told them. Would never go back.

Room Tip: They advertised rooms with living areas, fire places, etc. Find one I suppose. Mine was no good.

VERY disappointed. We reserved a lake view suite for our anniversary and received confirmation back as such. Upon check-in we learned our lake view room was given away to someone else. No explanation given other than apology/confusion. Don’t trust their reservation system or email confirmations. They will sell you out to a higher bidder. Really put a dent in our anniversary. Last time we will stay there for sure.

Pros: The staff were great! Always courteous and plenty of good ideas of places to eat and see. The view from our room was wonderful - lake and Front Street both, Wonderful pub - very busy. Bathroom very clean and spacious. Cons: The TV is too small for the room; There were cobwebs hanging from the ceiling; There were some cracks in the ceiling and the wallpaper peeling in spots. Lamp bases need some desperate cleaning
