clean, large room with 2 beds for $75 a nite. no amenities to speak of but a cheap overnight stay. ample parking if you have a boat or trailer or even a large RV. Convenient to restaurants and gas stations.
We have stayed here before and have really liked this place. This time was no different. We had the same room again which is a 2-room suite with a kitchenette, wet bar, living room area and a king bedroom. It has a microwave and refrigerator but oddly no coffee pot in the room. We like that it conveniently located by the door and parking. The staff is always friendly and check in is always fast and efficient. There was a weird smell in the lobby though. The location of this hotel is convenient. Right on US2, next door to Big Boy, across the street from the Boardwalk and just a couple of blocks from downtown. Breakfast was just waffles, fresh fruit, coffee and juice. However, that is more than a lot of places are doing lately. An additional waffle maker would be helpful. Great place to stay. Clean, comfortable and convenient. Side note: At least in September…. Monday nights… there were no places to eat in town. Everything was closed. Very strange.…
Looked at the reviews in Manistique and for a quick one night stay this place had high ratings. Not exactly sure why other than that they definitely keep the place well cleaned. Otherwise everything is very dated and I believe for the same price I would have been able to stay at a sister chain hotel that was more up to date when we stayed a few years ago. Nothing to "not stay here", but definitely not my first choice. To each their own.
In planning our trip to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, we were looking for a clean and no frills place to stay, in a convenient location, close to the areas we were exploring. This little roadside motel was perfect for our purposes. It is an older motel with simple decor that one would expect in a motel of this type. I read reviews that said the beds were too firm and uncomfortable, but I didn’t find this to be the case. The location is quiet and is right across the road from the town’s boardwalk along Lake Michigan. The service is above average, and the front desk employee went out of her way to be helpful. I left an important item in the room, and hours later called to ask if it had been found. She went to the room while we were still on the phone, found the item, and kept it safe until we arrived to pick it up. Overall, it was a pleasant stay.…
Stayed 2 nights in late August. Nice room. Very clean, great shower and no issues. Pretty rare these days. Especially at reasonable rates. Owners live onsite and are very friendly and hard working. Right across the road from Lake Michigan boardwalk. Plenty of beautiful views. Enjoyed our stay. Will return.
We stay in Manistique at least once a year when we travel between WI and MI. This was actually the first time we have stayed at this property and were pleasantly surprised when we entered the room. It was very clean and appeared to have been recently remodeled. The room was a good size and two separate sinks was ideal for us both to get ready for the day at the same time. It’s nothing fancy but All was good, it was quiet since we had the last room far from the highway. We had a week of traveling ahead of us and this was our first stop along the way. It’s close to a little casino where we played a few hours, had a great burger and headed back to our room expecting to get a good nights sleep. The beds were horrible, as they were hard as a rock. For an economy hotel we don’t expect pillow top mattress but the least they could do was put a pad on the top for some comfort. We had reservations at this hotel for another night the following week on our return trip home. Couldn’t cancel it fast enough. It’s a shame as the property is a great location and very clean.…
I stayed here as one of my stops on a 4 city vacation in Michigan's UP. The hotel is right across the street from the boardwalk! Cute little room, it was clean and well kept. It had a microwave and one of the largest fridges I have ever seen in a hotel room. The beds however, are so hard. My back hurt pretty bad when I woke up the next morning. The staff was amazing though! Super sweet and helpful about things we could do and see in town and the waffles were yummy.
The check in was pleasant and the decor is inviting in the lobby. The room had a microwave and refrigerator, which was a nice addition. The patio doors open into the parking lot, which makes loading and unloading much easier! The beach boardwalk is across the street, which is nice. Checking in, the clerk wore a mask. She was the only employee I encountered, so I don't know about anyone else. The downside is the firmness of the bed. It was very firm and I woke with a backache. If you like a firm bed, it will be a welcome stop for you. They offered waffles and fresh fruit (banana or oranges) for breakfast, but there was a small line at the waffle maker and I didn't wait because we had food in the room anyway. For the price, it is worth the stay if you enjoy a firm bed. We stopped overnight as part of a longer trip.…
We had the most disturbing experience we’ve ever had while traveling. The office staff was indifferent to our request, and then the owner badgered and harassed us over the minor issue. We ended up leaving rather than enduring his verbal abuse. He really should look into anger management classes!
This hotel is old and partially outdated. Our king suit was ok. The room was large but the bed was super uncomfortable and the room smelt so old like stale cigarettes & urine. I’m SO disappointed I used so many reward points to stay here. Specially after seeing how cheap the nightly rate actually is. This hotel provides the bare minimum. I’m surprised this is even a choice hotel. I would definitely stay somewhere else in town since there’s a few other options. *If your at risk Do not stay here Not one sign anywhere about COVID procedures or requirements. No hand sanitizer anywhere in lobby or Masks being worn by staff. I don’t mind them not having requirements but at least show some concern for your guests who do care during this stupid pandemic!
