We visited with 12 family members and enjoyed Lakeview's pool and restaurant. Great location, directly across from the Shepler Dock. Byron handled our luggage efficiently and secured it until our rooms were available so we could get out and enjoy the Island. Great memorable trip!

We truly loved our experience. The room was comfortable, and the bed left us feeling very refreshed each morning. The covered porch was fantastic for my wife, who spent a lot of time knitting outside. Service was extremely friendly and the luggage porter service to/from the ferry was a godsend. We had a lake facing view, so every morning we had the most gorgeous view of the sunrise, and if a more convenient location exists in town, I don't know it. Overall, we had a fantastic visit and ate already planning to come back.

This is a beautiful property. Every member of the staff goes above and beyond to provide you a welcome stay! Our room located inside one of the turrets has a 90 degree view of the busy streets and the lake. It was awesome to sit and watch people go by, and the windows lift! Allowing you to hear the bustle. If bustle is not your thing you can barely hear anything with the windows closed. I heard once some nearby clopping of one horse. In the early morning before the first ferry sitting at the window is very enjoyable. If you cannot secure a lake view room, they have porches with rockers where you can still catch the action of main street. The bed is comfortable, a bit firm but I like it that way. The pillows could use an update, and providing something besides sacchrin and sugar for the morning coffee, would be an added pleasure. The pink packets are outdated and the yellow would be a nice replacement. This hotel puts you within walking distance of everything on main, as well as a nice picnic area by the water, just across the street. We will return to this hotel again as I feel it is the best value and location.

While the Island boasts many properties, some more secluded from town, the Lake View is right in the hustle and bustle of main-street and exactly what our family of 4 (12 and 3yo) were looking for! Upon entering the Hotel, the recently renovated decor made for a very bright and attractive welcome. The layout of the atrium pool in the center of the hotel is truly stunning, especially when lit up at night. And though the hotel sits on busy main, it transports you to a relaxing oasis. We reserved a main-street view room as we love the hustle and bustle of the town and the sound of horse hooves clacking down main. And both the room and view exceeded all expectations. The bay window gave us 180* views of not only main street below, but a lovely side street to our left, and to our right, we could see a perfect slice of Lake Superior and the lighthouse. The room and view were so beautiful that we opted to skip breakfast "out" and, instead, rode our bikes down to "good day cafe" for to-go coffee and breakfast sandwiches that we could enjoy from the provided 4 person table at the window. Everything at this hotel was fresh, clean, comfortable, and beautifully appointed- my only complaint is that we only stayed one night!

Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious! We paid extra for a turret room, and it was definitely worth it. The view of the lake was fantastic! Our kids also loved having access to a pool and hot tub at the end of the day. Lake View was a great bargain considering location, cleanliness, and pool access considering the high costs of other hotels on the island. We will be back!

Excellent property in and excellent location. Staff was extremely helpful and accommodating, rooms were spotlessly clean, walking distance to everything including the shops, restaurants and bars downtown, the ferry terminal, even the Grand Hotel for a tour. Excellent choice.

From the moment we arrived off the ferry our luggage was taken to the hotel. We arrived earlier than check in time so the front desk was very kind to instruct us that the luggage will be held and taken to our rooms when the rooms were ready. We pre-checked and was notified via text when our rooms were available. The rooms themselves are charming and are luggage was there waiting for us in our rooms. The hung our sweaters/jackets! We had a king deluxe facing the back street. It was clean and the beds very comfortable. The bathrooms are big and bit dated but the hotel is doing renovations and would love to see the finished products. Each one of the staff members we encountered are friendly and asking if assistance is needed and if we are enjoying our stay. GREAT SERVICE! The only draw backs are there are no mini fridges in the rooms and would be nice if meals were offered. However there are plenty of restaurants to fill those needs.

Check in and check out was quick and flawless. The location was fantastic (close to shops, bars and restaurants) and conveniently located across the street from Sheplers ferry terminal (easy to transport your own luggage). The Green Turtle Distillery is located within the Hotel and has fantastic food and drinks (you must try the flight of vodka drinks). We checked out at 11:00am and took our luggage to the lobby drop off where the porter then took it to the ferry terminal where it was transported back to the main land luggage claim so we could enjoy the rest of our stay and not worry about the luggage (would recommend doing this). We will be heading back in the fall

We come to the island every year to do a swim around the island. It gives us an excuse to stay on the island with family. Finding a place to stay can be daunting and nothing on the island is cheap. We found a great value with Lakeview Hotel!
Our first year we paid for a spa room and had a great main street view that was fun for people watching. The spa tub is perfect for soaking after a long swim in privacy. This year, we chose just a deluxe king, but we were surprised with a large room and a spa tub! My sister had a room in the inner courtyard, and that can get loud during the day when the pool is open.
The pool area is beautiful and perfect for relaxing or swimming for families no matter the weather outside. The hotel is right across the ferry dock for Sheppler's and right on main street. They have bike parking as well.
Byron the dock porter is amazing and friendly.
They are going to do a renovation this winter, and I can't wait to see how the rooms / bathrooms are updated.
