Very historic accommodation and Proffesional The owner went out of his way and made us a meal and arranged a breakfast for us. After some disappointing experiences early in our our holiday this really was welcome The rooms are clean and have all the amenities for a comfortable stay with a great shower! After a long hard hit day on the road this allowed us to rest and recuperate. I recommend anyone stopping over in Carnarvon Karoo to book in here!

Stayed in the self catering apartment behind the Lord's Kitchen. Well equipped little kitchen and spacious bedroom that can accommodate 3 persons, as well as a spacious bathroom. It was lovely to be able to sit outside underneath the huge trees in front of our accommodation. The unit has interesting and antique pieces of furniture. We decided to not do the self catering bit and went to the Lord's Kitchens for dinner where we had lamb shanks (which we saw on trip advisor was really something special) and I totally agree. It was most probably the best Lamb shanks we have ever enjoyed!!! All in all a pleasant stay with airconditioned accommodation during a very hot time of the year.

Excellent hospitality, super food, very pleasant stay. Steeped in history with decor and books to stimulate those guests who are history buffs. Pieter and his staff are obviously central to this little town and deserve any accolades coming their way. We wish them continued success in a difficult time.

We stayed in one of the little rooms behind the Lords Restaurant - what a lovely treat after an exhausting journey. Beautiful, historical, quirky building with a wonderful eclectic mix of decor & historical items & decor. Spotless room with fresh, clean linen & a super comfy bed. The lamb shank & lamb cutlets for dinner were delicious. Friendly service & some interesting local characters visiting in the bar regaling each other with all sorts of stories (so glad I understand Afrikaans). We will be back.

Many thanks to Pieter and hos team for a great nights stop over in Carnarvon. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable and the adjoining Lords Restaurant served some equally impressive dinners. Breakfast was at his other Guest House two blocks over and is equally impressive filled with an eclectic mix of antiques and heirlooms.

What a remarkable place in the middle of the Karoo. Historic and authentic guest house with so much character. The host is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are spacious and clean. The food is served in a beautiful renovated restaurant. We had breakfast and for lunch pizzas which were both Excellent and on time. It was to early for strong beverages, but the GIN bar looked pretty tempting even in the early morning ..Dont know how they manage this level of professionalism so far from any city. Congrats and hope to return soon.

We loved every moment of our stay with Pieter at the Lord Carnarvon! Stunning antique furniture and decor, well appointed rooms with warm fluffy blankets, great shower. Unit well stocked for self-catering, but you MUST visit Lord's kitchen while you are staying here. Flavoursome generous food. Try their well stocked gin bar! They also have a stunning function venue. Will recommend any day.
