Detailed Reviews
New Marriott convenient to Springfield on a commercial strip with cheerful and helpful staff. Our room on top floor was quiet with comfortable mattresses and pillows, and plenty of towels. But I will join the chorus of reviews regarding the bathroom fixtures. There was no way to use the sink without being sprayed at the waist. The shower pressure was adequate but not more - we did not have the flooding issue because we were put in an accessible room. Fine for what it is.

Stayed there for 9 days for a business trip. We negotiated a flat rate but after check-out found, by calling my credit card, that they had indeed tacked on additional fees. Called the manager to remind them of their mistake and she was gracious enough to subtract the fees after 7 working days. If I had not checked my credit card statement immediately after check-out I would have had to go through a dispute with them.
When we checked in we specifically asked if they had a complimentary breakfast in the morning. Come to find out that the breakfast is not complimentary. They have a breakfast but it quite costly-i.e. two small pieces of toast with avocado on top and a boiled egg for $11.00!
The pros: The rooms are kept very clean and the beds are very comfortable. They have an extensive workout room and the laundry room (washer/dryer) is free.

This is very nice place to stay for a weekend getaway or a business trip as they provided just about everything you would need. Starting with our room which was a king with sleeper sofa and walk in shower made for a great nites rest and the only drawback with the room was housekeeping. We were told at check in that we would have housekeeping every other day and we checked in on a Saturday and checked out on a Wednesday, 5 days and 4 nights, so we knew we would at least have 2 days of housekeeping. Not the case. We were here for a family funeral and on the day of the service, Monday, housekeeping came to our door as we were getting dressed to go. We advised her that we were getting ready and to come back shortly to clean the room since we had no servicing for this now the 3rd day! Well, to make a point, no service was done and as we were returning to our room after a day of services and emotions, our room had not been touched at all, no clean towels, trash emptied or clean bed sheets. A true housekeeping failure! There is a shining light in all this thought, and that is the wonderful executive chef Mr. Ronell Richardson! He made the stay at the Courtyard a thrill and memorable event! The food he provided was not only tasteful but made us feel at home. We had the opportunity to eat a plate of food not on the menu, and all I will say is that it should definitely be on the menu! For the grits made just for me should be shared among guests and other cooks for a wonderful meal experience! We did have a slight misunderstanding with Nick at breakfast on a morning we were expecting the most wonderful breakfast, and although we were hoping for a different outcome we were too emotionally invested in our own life experience to complain. Needless to say, the next morning, Nick apologized for his mistake and we went on with our day.
All to say this made for a great stay and we will definitely return in the future to experience the wonderful and professional front desk employee with the beautiful burgundy hair, and the young lady who came back to CY after Covid and her new baby, to reopen, to the warmth of Ronell the executive chef, you all made our stay a great memory and we will be back!

As depressing and dismal as this area has become, they keep building chain hotels here to cater to the area colleges and the visitors that travel through the area via route 91 nearby. This brand spanking new hotel sits off strip mall riddled Riverdale road across from the massive Cinemark theaters and in front of the Westgate plaza strip mall.
This is one of the nicer Courtyards I have stayed, has a nice indoor pool, small gym, lobby with plenty of seating and a bar area with lots of chairs and tables. I can’t quite keep up with this minimalist design of these hotels since there is a small store area with essentials and the lobby now doubles as a lounge and breakfast area. This place was quite crowded since it was some sort of hockey weekend and parents and kids loaded this place down since it sits a half mile down the road from Olympia hockey rink. The rates are decent for the dismal area and since I was a Marriott member I used one of my annual free nights which was even better. Rooms are quite comfortable with cozy comfortable beds and seating with a nicely designed bathroom, except for the spattering faucets but still a pretty nice hotel for the money and a comfortable stay.

We enjoyed our stay here - the hotel is really new and so everything is thoughtfully designed and functions well. The beds were super comfortable, the pillows and sheets were nice quality, the shower and bathroom was well laid out, the lighting (including an adjustable nightstand clock/nightlight) was well designed. There is a Starbucks and easy breakfast in the lobby area. You can buy water, juice, beer, small toiletries etc. easily at the front desk. The hotel is quiet, staff has a good attitude, it’s well located. Exactly what a Courtyard should be!

This hotel was so clean and comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised by how new it is. The bed was really comfortable and all the bedding was white so clean and no icky feeling when you sit on bed. Even the "headboard" has a pillow case over it so you know that it is clean. Would have appreciated four bath towels instead of two. Hotel was crowded and we didn't hear any noise at all during the night. Staff was friendly and responsive to requests. Overall a very pleasant experience. Restaurant manager was super friendly and breakfast sandwich was tasty. Good coffee.

We stayed here for 2 nights while attending a 3-day volleyball tournament in Springfield. The location was perfect for the event, just a short drive into the city. The hotel itself was clean and modern, and the room was comfortable. The sleeper sofa accommodated our teenager well enough but the room was bit tight once the sofa was opened. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and professional, and we would not hesitate to book here again or recommend it to anyone seeking a nice budget hotel.

While the hotel is renovated, it is quite the disappointment. The bathrooms in particular are a sore spot. Never mind the weak flowing showers, you would expect a hotel in 2024 to ventilate its bathrooms. But no, you have a tiny hole in the ceiling (no fan) and you end up wallowing in the smells of your travel companions’ bowel movements. I had to go across the street to the cvs to get air freshener. The hotel did not offer, which is a theme.
The wifi is also slow.
There are no ear plugs or toothpaste in the front desk in case you forget them too.
If you’re in Springfield, stay somewhere else.

Response from Seth Zenitz, Owner at Courtyard West Springfield
Responded 18 Apr 2024
Dear Pace_Ripley, Thanks for your comments regarding your recent stay at the Marriott Courtyard in West Springfield MA. My apologies that you didn't thoroughly enjoy your stay. The ventilation in the bathrooms is connected to a centralized exhaust system so you don't experience the drone sound of an individual exhaust fan in the bathroom. Wishing you safe travels in the future.

Stayed here last week on business. It is a newer Courtyard that looks contemporary and is clean and comfortable. Great location where you can walk to stores and restaurants.
The room is nicely furnished with one of the largest TV screens I have ever seen in a hotel room. The room and bath were nicely appointed. Like most hotels, it was a bit noisy.
The breakfast served in the restaurant was actually pretty good. I did not try dinner, but they also offer food each evening.
As a platinum member, not sure why I wasn’t offered a room upgrade? Hotel wasn’t that full.
All in all, I would stay here again.

My stay at the Courtyard West Springfield was easily the worst in 40+ years of travel all over the world. Here are the low lights:
* Fire alarms between 3 - 3:30 am on consecutive nights (July 11 & 12, 2022). Both were false alarms suggesting problems with wiring or systems.
* Blackout on 1 evening. While the blackout was short, wifi was knocked out for many hours.
* My room was not serviced once over a 3-night stay.
In spite of all the problems with their property, staff and management were unwilling to compensate guests for all the inconvenience. Would you pay to stay at a hotel that wakes you up every night at 3:30 am so you can stand in the parking lot for 30-45 minutes.
