Relax in this hotel for the second time and come back again 👍. Welcomed us home, starting from the reception, accommodated as requested when booking the tour to our same cabin 407 beach villa🥰 At the hotel, Russian-speaking employees are always ready to help with any question, constantly asked if everything is good. Room cleaning is super!!!Always all on time and attentive, guys quick, well done👍 The restaurant is basic with a very interesting concept, each evening themed dinner of different countries. It's really, really delicious😋 For seafood lovers there are two restaurants ala carte(total ala carte on the island four). But also in the main restaurant there is both poultry, meat, and fish every day in different variants. To list everything will not be enough space, everyone will find something to taste. All the team of chefs thank you very much, always everything is on time and with soul 🥰Chef a special thanks, had the opportunity to meet personally, very kind and attentive person, thanks for the fruit😋 respect! Waiters Gazim and Arif super hum 👍service is high!!!We only communicate in Russian, but they understood us and tried very hard 🥰 As a compliment to the hotel,we were moved to the water villa 720,thank you very much, never tried such accommodation,we really enjoyed😍I think next time we will take the villa on the water) The thing about this hotel,it is divided into an 18+ zone and an area with children,so the choice was made without hesitation and relaxed without children all their vacation, high🤪 Restaurants are basic, in each zone different. Generally the island itself is very beautiful and green, I want to celebrate those guys who keep an eye on the cleanliness and territory of the island itself, remove leaves, seaweed from the shore, etc. Work like bees, very clean everywhere. And at the end of the review, I want to thank the general manager, as I believe what a manager, such a team. Guys keep it that way, thriving you and grateful guests 😊 See you later❤️

We travelled to Meeru for our honeymoon overnight from UK. Male airport was pretty straightforward and we met with a representative from Meeru. We waited for an hour for our speedboat allowing us time for a coffee. The speedboat arrived and the Meeru experience began. From being welcomed by the representative we were cared for from the start of our holiday until the end. The boat was immaculate and modern. It was very fast, the transfer was about 45 minutes. Once stepping off the boat we were in paradise. The warmth of the staff reaches out to you. We arrived at about 10am. Check in is 2pm so take clothes to change in and immerse yourself around a pool or bar. Don’t waste a moment. Most of your time is spent outside so hanging around reception for a key is a waste of time. Also get your sun cream on. Any blokes out there who think they don’t need it - thing again. Very easy to burn on first day. I spent $100 on a uv protective shirt after my first day! Bring one with you and double the factor of sun cream and double the amount you bring.
I read some negative reviews on garden rooms. They are excellent and extremely well located. This allows you to nip in and out of room and enjoy all facilities. They are not noisy. We considered requesting an upgrade but we would go back to a garden room due to their enviable location. Now the staff. They are all warm natured and caring. How do you do it Meeru? A huge workforce all polite and well mannered. All they want to do is please you. They all make huge sacrifices in their own lives to be there. Bring some $5 bills to tip them every now and again. Even though they don’t expect it, it’s a mark of appreciation. We had a problem with the safe, this eventually got sorted. However the phone call at 11pm to ask if all was well was not appreciated as we were both fast asleep. Advice to management - don’t call people after 9pm unless urgent, as late calls cause panic.
Look out for Shareef in the restruant. He has a great sense of humour and brilliant memory. Also Arup the Sommelier who with Shareef managed to sell me 20 Erdinger weiss beers making me number one drinker of that beer. Arup always had time for a chat and was so open to new ideas and suggestions. Thank you for bringing me port as well! Champrika, a chef was a warm personality who made my wife a beautiful apple crumble with warm custard. Her favourite. They just want to please. They cannot do enough for you. The food was fabulous. We were perfectly satisfied. If you want more it’s available at various restaurants and events around the island
At the dhunni bar a big hello to Ahmed and Sameen. Wonderful people- the latter painted us a picture of the beach as a souvenir. Ahmed was a perfect gentleman. A master of his craft.
During the day we snorkelled, swam, relaxed and walked round the island. Take some board shoes with you that you can wear in the sea. And a hat!
I took an inflatable paddle board. It was brilliant. The baggage allowance is generous and you don’t need heavy clothes here. So use the allowance with snorkelling gear, beach games sports gear. If you like football bring Astro boots for the game on Sunday.
Night entertainment was fantastic thanks to German Chris Karaoke who is a Duran Duran fan. Sorry Iron Maiden. And also guiseppe and his wife Mary brilliant at karaoke as well. The garden rooms are perfectly located to enjoy all these things. 5tryker is a great DJ. Saud and the entertainment guys were brilliant.
Advice- lady who did aqua aerobics at beach party could do this daily. It brings people together. Perhaps some other group excercise classes could be considered. You have a brilliant team. Use them, so entertaining. The water polo was great. I am the mad keeper who did not stop dancing all game. Not many goals came past me!
I used the gym which was kept immaculately. Do not wear your gym shoes to the gym. Carry them and put them on there. It keeps it so clean.
Insect repellent and tiger balm recommended. I didn’t see what was biting me but it was something. Not too bad though.
Look out for the bats. They are massive and fly round in the day.
I cannot praise you all at Meeru island enough. Thank you and keep doing what you do. Caring and looking after people on their most special vacation.

At Meeru Maldives Resort Island you can spend a holiday of pure relaxation!
We stayed 5 nights in a Beach Villa in the south of the island, the windiest part at least in the days we spent there, but the whole island can be pleasantly explored on foot and any area can be used by guests. The room was very large, clean with an outdoor bathroom that gives you a holiday feel. For meals we were assigned to the nearby Farivalhu restaurant, served by the friendly and helpful Shareef who did everything to make us feel at ease. If you wanted to try the other buffet restaurant located in the northern part of the island, all you had to do was notify the reception in advance. Quality of food above all expectations, everything we consumed in the two buffet restaurants was fresh and excellently prepared. There are also 4 à la carte restaurants available, we pleasantly tried the Asian Wok to experience Teppanyaki, a style of Japanese cuisine where the dishes are prepared on a hot plate, truly a memorable experience, thanks also to the chef in charge Chaminda, not only prepared but also very nice.
The bars also offer a long choice of drinks including impeccably prepared main cocktails.
I don't know what to comment about the place, I feel like saying that no words are needed, just look at the photos to understand that you are in paradise, it's true you start with high expectations but they are confirmed from the first moment (actually seeing it in person makes it even more plus the magnificence of the place).
Sports activities of all kinds, football pitch, tennis, padel, badminton, golf, beach volleyball, table tennis, swimming pools (mostly used by families with children), diving school and lots of excursions that even the most mentally handicapped Compared to the Maldives, they wouldn't know how to organize the day, precisely because of the many activities that the resort offers, some included, others, most of them, for a fee. We would have liked to try a service from their SPA located on a platform above the ocean, but the prices were actually a bit prohibitive, we preferred to dedicate ourselves to the "Robinson Crusoe sand bank" experience, that is, to be dropped off from the early hours of the morning in a sandbank completely alone, unique experience!
Although the resort was full, we never had the feeling of overcrowding, which was very welcome!

Food is what everyone goes to this hotel for. Here she is, of course, incomparable. However, everything else... Wi-Fi: works on 15% of the hotel, mainly near the rooms, the beach and at the reception and in the restaurant. There is no lighting in the hotel area in the usual sense. Considering that dinner starts at 19:00 (more than an hour after sunset), even getting to the restaurant is a problem). Nobody speaks Russian at the hotel: having been at the reception four times at different times, we never found the “three staff members” that were so often talked about at the hotel. On the beach anywhere on the island, when entering the sea, you come across sharp fragments of coral. There is not a single place where the sand is clean. Next - either stones or dead corals. You're afraid to swim for fear of getting scratched. Since the hotel's beach area is huge, not all of it is cleaned. While we are talking about cleaning, it is also worth mentioning that during the rains (and this year they were somewhat abnormal), no one even tried to pump out the water, even along the main trails. And the puddles are huge, making it impossible to walk through without getting dirty. And water in a combo with sand is quite slippery. I can only note that umbrellas were provided, which was very helpful. There aren't enough signs in the hotel; sometimes you walk and doubt whether you're in the right direction. And it is not always possible to navigate using a map. Sea: we were lucky with the location of the villa on the seashore, it was the very first (503): entering the water was “neck-deep”, however, a little to the left, along the entire beach line, you can enter without touching the seaweed and cobblestones, only “ up to the level of the abdomen.” Specifically in our situation, when booking on Booking, we chose breakfast-lunch-dinner (full board), however, to celebrate upon arrival, we ordered three glasses of soda in the restaurant for breakfast. They charged us $24 for this when we checked out. I had to pay. And, it would seem, it’s really our jamb, but, of course, no one warned about the charge, the waiter brought it with a smile on his face (by the way, I’m glad that they remember the need to smile), but only on their part there was a jamb : the night before check-in, we called to clarify whether early check-in and late check-out were possible. They did organize an early check-in (but gave out the keys at 13:58), but on the same day they called and, having heard that we would get back on our own transfer, said that we had to leave the island at 13:00, vacating the room until 12. I could not even imagine that there would be such disrespect for guests. Arriving at the reception, I asked, since we have a 1:1 ratio on jambs, to please remove the invoice for payment, but the supervisor insisted that we must pay. Well, how we had to change our plans and suffer losses due to changing the return transfer from evening to day is a different story...

For our 6th stay in the Maldives I chose this hotel for its proximity to the airport. After a welcome and a transfer by 45mm boat, very well organized and with an attentive crew, we arrive at the Meeru Island hotel. Welcome with the staff and an iced tea. First disappointment no one speaks French despite recent comments hence the choice of this island. Fast shipping by giving us the hotel website for more information without explanation and without a proposed visit to the site and however good news because the room is available immediately at 12 p.m. and this one suits us perfectly 10MM walk from amenities (restaurant, reception), The room is large with plenty of storage, a fridge filled with drinks (to be checked before entering) to avoid any surprises, a huge outdoor bathroom with basic soap, shower shampoo and body cream but be careful not according to shampoo (I had forgotten mine and it was a 4 star). The room is ideal for a person with reduced mobility like me and I am happy to have listened to the opinion of a previous comment which said to trust the hotel with the choice. For swimming, the descent to the beach is gentle and practical. compared to other bungalows in the same area. A little windy but the island is large enough and equipped with deckchairs all around that you can use. The restaurant is very good with qualified staff. I would like to particularly thank SARAH from the ice cream stand for her permanent smile and the few words of French exchanged. Note that I practically never consumed drinks because at no time was the menu offered to us being full board, drinks are chargeable (excessively eg: 15 dollars for a small glass of wine) except water and coffee and tea. The hot rock café near the adult-only swimming pool offered it to us and we took mojito (15 dollars.50 and lemon juice 10 dollars). Professional team on this side, especially after our wedding anniversary meal offered by our daughter by email (which was an obstacle course for the reservation.) I draw attention to the quality of the reception despite the intervention of 'Alexander with his phone for translation, the only one willing to use this one. An effort must be made at this point because we were humiliated during an exchange to understand the progress of this anniversary evening but skillfully made up for by special attention in our room after our return from our evening. In short, the smile in the room by the waiters and the reception is strongly recommended to maintain a clientele and a good image. We had a nice budget to spend in part and a tips envelope (except for certain members of staff (garden buggy and room staff) which we saved thanks to or because of lack of information. However good hotel for a first stay in the Maldives.

We just returned from this gorgeous island. Our 2 bed family villa was very spacious and is perfect for teenagers as the 2nd room is the other side of a small court yard so they had the feeling of being completely away from us.
Pro’s - Everyone is very friendly. Buffet food plentiful and very good, Ahmed looked after us brilliantly and had a very good sense of humour. Cleaning of room was done to a high standard and products provided are to die for. Location of our villa (607) was just a minute from the bar and restaurant but far enough away that you don’t hear anything, we felt very lucky. Beach very good, snorkelling on the calmer side was nice although like a lot of islands there isn’t much to see down below. We were however fortunate enough to see a few reef sharks and some parrot fish which was a huge plus!
Amenities such as the golf range are good but even with FB you need to pay and this ends at 5pm. The football pitch is great too. Pool room needs to have the second table replaced as it’s the main draw for kids/adults alike. Chess and table football was a fun addition.
Our 10 year old did the beginners scuba and absolutely loved it (thank you Ali and Mido who are very kind and patient) they are a real credit to the staff. We also did the jet skiing. This island has plenty to do but these things are not cheap be warned.
Cons - when we arrived we had to wait for 2hrs for our room to be ready. Having travelled almost a whole day this wait is not very welcome especially in the heat. Buses on the island could come sooner. You can spend a lot of time just waiting. The island app is also not particularly user friendly.
We never deny ourselves but the shop was very limited and super expensive. As another reviewer pointed out chocolate, biscuits and crisps you can buy here in any supermarket for £1.50 at 8 dollars each meant the bill at the end was pretty hefty. Having been to other islands prices are definitely on the steeper side here.
Do not be deterred though. This island has many returning clientele so it is clearly doing something right. We had a wonderful time and will return again some day. Thank you for a wonderful time Meeru.

Response from Ali Shifaz, Other at Meeru Maldives Resort Island
Responded 24 Aug 2024
Dear T6373GCloriR Warm greetings from Meeru Maldives Island Resort! Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback following your stay with us. We are delighted to hear that your family villa met your needs, especially with its layout that offered your teenagers a sense of independence. We appreciate your positive comments about our friendly staff, particularly Ahmed, Ali, and Mido, and are pleased to hear that the cleaning standards, villa location, and beach experience contributed to your enjoyable stay. Your remarks about the amenities and activities are noted, and we are glad you made the most of them despite the associated costs. We regret the inconvenience you experienced with the wait for your room upon arrival and the delayed island transport services. Your observations about the limited and pricey selection at the shop, as well as the user-friendliness of the island app, are invaluable and will be reviewed for future improvements. It’s heartening to know that despite these drawbacks, you still had a wonderful time and plan to return. We look forward to welcoming you back for another memorable stay. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. Best regards, Meeru Maldives Island Resort

The best place, a big island, where you can take a walk or wander around. The kitchen is simply wonderful, we took 3 rubles for meals, which was more than enough, there is always water in the room and during meals, juices and coffee in the morning, tea and coffee in the room for free. We took an excursion swimming with sharks (the excursion with the road takes 4 hours) - it cost 66 dollars per person, + on the way back we made a stop in the ocean to swim and snorkel and saw a turtle. Great for your money! There are sunbeds all over the island - take whatever you want, they are not listed by room, but there is always enough for everyone, no need to borrow in advance. Clean towels are freely available by the pools, there are public toilets near the bars, you don’t have to go to your room. Take insect repellent spray and apply it day and evening (since mosquitoes bite all day long) + sunblock + coral slippers and a mask - that's all you need. Souvenirs are not cheap on the island (decent magnets start at $8), but at the airport they are even more expensive. There is a convenient application with navigation around the island and booking excursions + all prices are written. Wi-Fi is good, it doesn’t make sense to buy a SIM card at the airport, since Wi-Fi is available both at the airport and at the hotel. The registration desk for a speedboat transfer to a hotel without a number or sign is at the exit from the arrivals area (just tell any person with a badge your hotel - he will point his finger at the counter and you will be taken to a speedboat - the ride on it takes 45-50 minutes, some people get motion sickness, have In view of this, it is better to take a pill in advance for those who are especially sensitive). In general, I am completely satisfied with my vacation, there is a lot of wildlife on the island - crabs, hermit crabs, herons, small sharks, fish. For snorkeling, be sure to go on a free excursion, the underwater world there is much more interesting - all kinds of fish, both big and small, they give vests to those who need them - for those who are afraid to swim at depth - the best thing is, I wasn’t scared with it at all! On the beach, the water is just bomb, azure, especially when the sun comes out from behind the clouds. Of the 6 nights on the island, 2 and a half days were rainy (at this time we played billiards and watched movies). The rest of the time it only dripped at night. We rested from September 22 to 28, 2023. I am very pleased with the choice of hotel - an Instagram picture is guaranteed)))

Back in this magical place , and even if the weather was capricious sometimes it does not bother in any way , we had asked for the Beach Bungalow 210 room and had the 207 , I thank the Direction very much, because indeed this side of the island is less windy and being PMR the gentle slope to the direct beach access (at room 210) is facilitated there. Bungalows are more than ok with an outdoor shower, products supplied in large containers to avoid plastic waste , water is provided free of charge in glass bottled rooms as well as in restaurants. Bungalows are not adjoining and facilitates nuisances (very good point) .All the island is extremely well maintained everywhere, the restaurant is diverse with themes every evening and varied especially for a 15 night stay .For the restaurant I want to thank especially FASHEEH. L. (farivalhu restaurant )with its welcome and permanent smile and availability as well as shereazade to the welcome who welcomed us in French. The Pension makes a point of honor made life easier for its guests ( personal request). The transfers were also very well organized and the pickup at the airport is fast. An adult part only with its swimming pool is available in the north of the island with its restaurant accessible without problem to all adults on the island. The beaches are equipped with sunbeds everywhere for everyone as well as in the bungalows. We still have this Impression of being alone in the world. The +++ after 7 stays in Maldives , is that this Pension is 40mm boat from the airport which is not insignificant after 24h travel ( to review) .

Very pretty island, with large trees and flowering shrubs. The island is large, feeling of having space; there are 2 restaurants, one for families, the other for adults to the north. Arriving on 22/1, we are in jacuzzi beach villa 614, very spacious, which is in fact about twenty meters from the beach, on the lagoon side, to the west of the island. It’s calmer (not the constant noise of the waves crashing on the coral reefs) and there is less current. There is also sun later in the afternoon, which is not the case on the east side, where the villas are (really) on the beach. The sand is also finer. There are French electrical outlets in the room, a kettle, hair dryer, safe and mini bar. Water is provided daily. The soap, body/hand lotion and shower gel are supplied in glass bottles, refillable, to limit plastic. Remember to take your detangler, the shampoo provided is not creamy enough. We are encouraged to leave with our plastic containers and a canvas bag is even offered for this purpose. There is a nautical club which rents kayaks (32€/h for 2) and jet skits. The diving club is very good. Prices are available online. In the restaurant, water (still or sparkling) is also provided in refillable glass bottles. We take our meals at the nearest restaurant, near the reception, also close to the diving center (departure 8:15 a.m., no time to hang around!). This restaurant is for families but at this time it is rather quiet even if the hotel is advertised as full. The buffets are varied and of excellent quality. There are theme evenings (Mexico, Middle East, etc.). Extras are expensive like everywhere in the Maldives.
The only problem is the lack of deck chairs on the beach, in our area it's the battle of who gets up the earliest to reserve them with the beach towels (provided and changed every day), I don't I had never experienced this, always outside of school periods. So we also act selfishly ill-mannered, otherwise we're just playing the joke! I went to ask reception if it was possible to distribute the deck chairs better around the island because on the east side there are plenty of them; I was kindly smiled at. What's stupid is that in our villas we have 4 sun loungers (2 under the porch and 2 at the back near the jacuzzi), I don't come to the Maldives to stay within 4 walls but to enjoy the beach! This is why I did not rate it excellent.

Our stay on this dreamlike island was all around perfect.
The hotel complex is very clean and extensive and the beaches are beautiful. One side (by the adult pool) is very good for snorkeling (there we have seen sharks several times by the coral garden) and the other side (family pool) good for swimming. What more could you want? Oh yes, 3 times a day there was still a free transport to the house reef. There we could even admire a turtle. We liked the fact that it was super organized and someone always paid attention to us.
We had booked the garden room and were very satisfied with our choice. The room is nice and large, air conditioned, clean and there are enough storage areas. We would particularly like to highlight the super comfortable beds and the central location on the island.
We had booked full board as a catering type. Here were 3 meals included in buffet form. The buffet restaurant offers an incredible selection of food with great quality. We especially loved the Curry’s, the Pasta Station at noon and the great theme nights in the evening.
At meals there was always water at VP and also in the room was after cleaning, which was done 2 times a day always water ready.
We had a delicious cocktail almost every day in one of the bars. We really liked the Passion Colada and the live music for it. For us, All ink. would still not have been worth it, because otherwise we do not drink soft drinks or cocktails during the day.
All the staff we had contact with were extremely friendly, accommodating and nice.
Our departure was only at night. We were able to spend lunch again after checking out and all day on the beach before we were taken to the airport by the last speedboat. Thank you for staying with us until the last minute. Should we come back to the Maldives we will come back to Meeru Island !
