The contactless digital key didn't work so needed to get a key card at front desk. Not a big deal, and front desk staff was very friendly. The handle to the room had to be "jiggled" to work properly - seems like this could be fixed. The building is older and could benefit from a bit of updating, but it was clean, as was the room. Since the building is older I think the walls are thin and we had very noisy neighboring guests (thank goodness I brought ear plugs). Big disappointment was lack of an in-room safe - I thought this was a pretty standard feature these days? Beds were comfortable, good water pressure and plenty of hot water. I appreciate that HI is providing a breakfast option during COVID with the individual bags and bagels while other hotels have yet to bring breakfast service back. Overall, not a terrible stay but may consider other close-by hotel options for future visits even though I am a Hilton Honors member.

Easy check-in and okay room, and a nice shower, but overflowing trash receptacle at entrance, no ice cream in cooler, a million cigarette butts on the ground, weird unprofessional tables barricading front desk.

While I would consider this property to be average to above average (3 or 4 stars) overall, I feel compelled to write this review and give the property a rating of "poor" due to their response to pandemic protocols by comparison to other Hilton branded properties I stayed at, all within a few days of each other. I also stayed at the Homewood Suites in Farmington, CT, and at the Hampton Inn in Hagerstown, MD. At both of these locations, there were many things done in response to the pandemic to include: A sticker "seal" on the door stating that the room had been disinfected, hand sanitizing wipes in the room, and the TV remote was placed in a plastic bag. The property in Hanover, MD had none of these things. Overall, the room at the Hanover property was clean, although a few areas could have used a good dusting, and there was some hair in the bathtub. Due to the pandemic, the breakfast at the Hanover property was in a paper bag and consisted only of one pre-packaged muffin, one granola bar, and one bottle of water (as well as coffee). By comparison, the breakfast at the Farmington, CT location consisted also of the muffin, granola bar, water, and coffee, with the addition of fruit, and you could take as many of these items as you wanted. The breakfast at the Hagerstown, MD location was muffins, fruit, yogurt, cereals, juice, granola bars, hot pre-packaged breakfast sandwiches, water, and coffee. You could take as many of these items as you wanted, and there was an attendant in the breakfast area to serve guests. With regard to service, while the service at the Hanover, MD location was sufficient, it wasn't great. Examples: When making my reservation, I always note that I need only foam pillows, not feather (due to allergies). When I asked about this while checking in, the representative said that while she saw my note, she had no idea whether there were only foam pillows in the room. She said she would check. I waited at the front desk for several minutes, and when she never returned, I asked a different representative to let me know, and I went to my room. I never heard back from them, but I do believe that the pillows in the room were foam. When I asked about the pillows at the Farmington, CT location, I was told that the pillows in the room were foam. I didn't even have to ask at the Hagerstown, MD location. At check-in, the representative told me that the pillows were foam before I even asked. I also asked for a bottle of water when I checked in at the Hanover, MD location, and the representative said that they didn't have any. I questioned this because she had told me that there would be bottled water in the breakfast bag (I had to ask her what would be in the bag). The representative replied that these bottles of water were to be given out only for breakfast. I'm a Hilton Honors member, and I've never been told that I couldn't have a bottle of water. So, as I said, the Hanover, MD location fell short in many areas by comparison to the other properties I stayed in.

We stayed there for one night on our trip north. It was terrible, not clean, trash in waste basket, hair in sink and tub. Not a choice place to stay. Not what was expected from a Hampton Inn. We were the June 13th.
