I stayed with candlewood on July 25th and 26th. I normally stay here when I visit the area. Hours before I reached the hotel I recd a call that the King Suite I booked was not available. Points were awarded for inconvenience but a discount would have been better. After arriving and checking in to the queen studio that was available it was not as clean as it normally is. The bathroom floor was sticky and carpet was stained. There was no need to advise front desk as I was told they were full. It also appears that this location is more of an extended stay. I was truly not pleased with this stay as I have been completely satisfied in the past.
We were very happy with our stay at this property, the kitchenette was very well equipped with everything you could think of, it felt nice to get up and cook my family breakfast. Grocery stores and shopping very close! MJ checked us in and she was very informative and wonderful! We will definitely make it a point to come back to this property! Very spacious rooms!
I’m surprised at the reviews of past customers moaning about the way “maid” service is managed here. I think people are selectively hearing when they check in and/or fail to read the placard in the bathroom that expressly tells you that if you want fresh towels, bring your old ones to the front for exchange. Methinks management has had quite a few towels “walk” and this is a method for controlling inventory. We were told at check in that the hotel is an extended stay property and we would NOT have daily room “maid” service and since we are able and know how to do so, we made the bed ourselves and we were fine with it. It was actually quite painless. The room was quiet, the beds very comfy. Kitchenette well stocked with utensils for an extended stay though we didn’t need to use it much. The Guest Center with (free to use!) washers and dryers was a pleasant surprise and the “honor system” to purchase snacks was a nice touch. Free coffee and juice much appreciated. We found all staff we encountered unfailingly polite and helpful. My only gripe: we paid $25 to have our dog stay with us. The dog walk area out back was strewn with broken bottles, so we had to be very careful where we stepped. And a few male guests sat in their vehicles out back to drink and smoke at night; this created a bit of an intimidating atmosphere. Note to management: you are pet friendly, and if I’m paying to keep my pet, you need to provide a clean & safe area to take him, that’s why I can rate you only 4/5.…
We opted for a one-night stay at the Hanover Candlewood Suites as part of our visit to assist with packing Christmas Shoeboxes for Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child. We could not have been any more pleased with our room. The rate was very completive, the Suites were easily located, and the reception staff was very personable. Our spacious room was clean, comfy and well equipped. The kitchen area even had pots and pans plus the microwave, toaster, coffee maker, fridge, dishes and plates. The bathroom was quite large with plenty of towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, and hot water. Room temperature was easily adjusted. Plenty of desk space for writing and computer work. The bed was comfy, lighting was good and the nice-sized recliner was great. Even a Bible was included. We both slept well but I did hear some conversation from inconsiderate guests early in the am. (kinda expected due to thin walls in most motels). A little “store” near reception proviced means to purchase snacks and the like. Plus, plenty of free coffee. We agreed we would stay at the Candlewood Suites again if in the area.…
This is an extended stay hotel designed for longer term business or family travel. No daily room service. If that works for you, this is a pretty convenient, safe and quiet property. The staff is not the quickest off the snap, but they are well intentioned. Very close to BWI airport, grocery and retail shopping, as well as restaurants. Very comfortable beds and pillows.
