We did a quick overnight here after a long day of driving. Hotel was adequate at best. Although a breakfast was promised there really was not anything much available. I did notice some yogurt behind the front dest and was begrudgingly given one when I asked but that and a bowl of oranges was all that I saw available. With COVID I know its difficult but others have managed and we don't look for much. Just not a friendly group at check out and genrally not a good value.
My wife booked this place online. After a long day of traveling we got to the hotel shortly before 8pm. We checked in and went straight to our room. As we walked in the room we could smell the scent of animals. Like it had not been cleaned properly. But we were tired and just wanted to relax. However, we could hear a dog barking. We first thought that it was outside. Maybe someone walking a dog. But it persisted. Around 15 minutes of this, I looked outside and saw nothing and realized that it was coming from another room. I called the front desk and the Lady working “Stacey” said she would find out who it was and would call the guest to let them know that the dog was barking. About a half hour goes by, we can still hear the dog barking relentlessly. It’s driving us crazy. I called again the front desk, Stacy had said that she called the guest and had let them know already. Another 15 minutes goes by. Still barking. I went down stairs to talk to Stacy about this. She was walking back to front desk. Now she tells me that she went to check my floor and couldn’t hear any dog barking. I asked her to walk into our room and check. But she did not. Then I asked if we could be changed to another room. But she said that she was sold out and that the room I was in is the only room available. Then I asked if she could move me to a different Marriott near by. She said she cannot because we had prepaid. Which we did prepay, on their Website, Not a third party. I was now upset. We didn’t want to stay there worrying about a dog barking all night. So I told her that I was leaving. She said that they were still charging me for the night. Which I cannot understand, since they couldn’t accommodate me to another room or transfer to a different Marriott. She gave me the manager’s name who was Ms. Lizette and told me that she would let her know what happened and to expect a call from her tomorrow. We then checked out. The next day came, by 3pm I hadn’t received a call from Ms. Lizette. So I called her myself. She answered. We started to speak and I explained my story to her. She first said that there was no dog barking. Then she recanted and said that the guest that had the dog had gone out to dinner and didn’t come back until 10pm. Then Ms. Lizette said that they don’t do anything for noise complaints until after 10pm and since I checked out at 9pm. I was surprised. Especially since I asked to be moved either to a different room or a different hotel. They were not accommodating at all. So if you wish to take your chances of getting a room with a dog constantly barking through the walls and getting no rest whatsoever. Then this is the perfect place for you! …
When visiting University of Maryland, you spend very little time in your hotel room. What do you need? A clean room, comfortable bed, nice shower, and coffee in the morning. This hotel checks all the boxes. It’s clean, the bed is comfortable, and stall shower is huge. The continental breakfast definitely is fresh and serves it purpose. The friendly staff are also a huge asset. We will return.
Just stayed here for one night while visiting the University of Maryland. It is about a 5 minute drive to the University. The hotel was new and very modern. Rooms very clean and spacious. Breakfast average. Plenty of parking in garage underneath hotel. Only complaint , construction next door started at 7:30am. Just ask for a room on opposite side of hotel . The hotel on a Monday night was not full based on the number of cars in the garage. I wonder why they would even put people on construction side.
We stayed for two nights in November, and had a great stay at this hotel. It is about 2 miles from the Un. of MD main campus, but a straight shot down the same road. The entire hotel is pretty new, all decor is modern. Staff was nice, efficient, and breakfast was pretty good for being included... more than just a continental breakfast. At first it appears there isn't any parking, but there are 2 levels of a parking garage beneath it, and elevators from the garage to all floors of the hotel which made loading and unloading easy. There are a few restaurants nearby, and a shopping area incase you forgot something too. Oh, and dogs are allowed, one across the hall from us was barking but we couldn't hear it in our room at all.
