Detailed Reviews
We had a wonderful stay at Morning Glory Cottages. The room was really well catered for and the kids had a blast on the farm meeting all the animals. The Braai Baskets was really wonderful and the food was great, lovely home made farm style cooking. I really appreciated my braai being packed already and ready for me to only start up the fire after the long road. Lynette is a great host and goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable. I would really recommend Morning Glory Cottages for any Karoo stay over and will definitely stay there again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at morning glory cottages. We were visiting one of our community projects for 4 nights and Morning Glory was our base. Lynette was so helpful and very efficient. We had the most delicious meals , braai baskets and breakfast baskets prepared for us daily. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We will definitely be back. Thank you for your warm hospitality.

Loved the accommodation itself, and the setting on the farm was great. Host was wonderful throughout. Little extra touches like medication and sanitary items provided in case forgotten when travelling were also very thoughtful. Breakfast pack was well worth the money.

Lovely accommodation, friendly and hospitable. Well worth a stop on your trip north or south. We requested dinner for the evening, the quantity and quality was every cent worth. Thank you Lynette and the Van Der Walts

We loved our stay at Morning Glory Cottages.
The cottages are clean, cosy, and well appointed with everything we needed.
The breakfast hamper delivered to our door was totally delicious.
The kids loved to help feed the foals and lambs in the morning. A holiday highlight.

We had a warm welcome on arrival, despite it being freezing cold! I would imagine this to be a wonderful stay over in Spring and Autumn.
We booked meals - the dinner was salads and a stew of sorts, which did not appeal to all of us. Would suggest getting the menu / meal of day before booking that. Breakfast pack was perfect, with a choice of take-away or eat in.
Will definitely re-visit

Most enjoyable stop over on our trip through to Cape Town. Especially enjoyed the seeing Nguni herd and horses.
I would suggest advertising the braai packs and contents for guests to make in formed descisions for meals.

The location is very accessible from Colesberg on the R58. Very intimate cottages. I was in the Chamomile suite - spacious rondavel with a creatively decorated bathroom. A big double bed (not two single beds joined in most places). The dim lights around the whole room provide that intimate ambiance (I was alone by the way). Bar fridge with all the goodies to end a long day of travel. Home-cooked supper meal for you to warm up in the microwave, while watching TV. REAL Nguni hide on the floor-I could see the J8 branding. The fan makes the room to be cool all round. A huge display mirror on real wood frame. Real KAROO feeling.

Lynette is a warm hostess with a wealth of info about the area. The catered meals were well crafted and presented. The rooms were spacious and well-equipped. The setting among large trees is well established and attractive. The communal braai area may not be to everyone's taste but we made some new friends there while having a meal. Close enough (10km) to a town for emergency supplies, but remote enough to totally unwind. Ideal for a breakaway long weekend as well as for a halfway stop to the East Cape coast.
