We planned a first time visit to OOB with little info regarding lodging. Marvin Gardens is by no means a modern hotel....but visiting a beach vacation community it was exactly what we thought it would be...we had a room that was small but certainly functional for the amount of time spent there, had everything we needed and most importantly clean. A very nice pool, fire pit, picnic tables, real nice vacation camp setting.... The owner was very friendly and helpful as was his staff. We got in a little early so our room wasn't exactly ready, but we were allowed to check in, and leave the car. The owner suggested a lunch spot on the pier while our room was prepared and took our cell to text us when it was ready...Marvin Gardens is located a short walk from the Pier, down a side street, through a beautiful park...Next year we plan on staying there and renting a cabin.

So far I have stayed at Marvin Gardens/Pine View Lodge twice and both times the rooms were clean and just we needed. My boyfriend and I didn't need anything fancy seeing as most of our time would be spent down at the beach. I would recommend this motel, and I would stay here again. The rooms aren't very expensive (depending on the season you're staying), and they are clean, which is always what one expects. Thanks!

My wife and I just needed a place to lay our heads for the night, so we booked the smallest room they had. We got exactly that. It was clean and adequatly furnished. The staff was very friendly and helpful with local attractions. Did I mention that our room was small? It was a bungalows style, which I measured at 40 X 16 feet and divided into 4 units. They have larger units at higher cost, but for us, this fit our needs quite well.

Very clean well kept room, staff was gracious and respectful. Other reviews say it is "far" from the beach, it was only a couple minutes away from the pier. The front desk staff was exceptionally wonderful when I decided to extend my stay. Will be staying here again without a doubt!

Sadly this place was a bad selection on my part. Was thinking a cabin type accommodation, simple, sweet and modest would be OK as we were only passing through. However, it was in disrepair with damage to the roof, dead bugs in the light fixtures, unclean hot tub, no baseboards and the person who checked us in had questionable hygiene practices. If this is the only place in Old Orchard Beach don’t bother staying.

This is just a basic tiny, no frills room. Only a single baby step up from a youth hostel. A long hike to the beach too. Keurig coffee maker didn’t work and not even any creamer or sugar setups anyway!

We stayed here the Saturday before Memorial Day. We took a last minute trip up to Old Orchard Beach. Once we got up there I searched for motels. This one had one room left. I called to confirm and said I was about ten mins away. He held the room for us and even called us back and stood out on the sidewalk so we didn't drive past it. The room was super clean had mini fridge, microwave, and small flat screen TV in the standard room. Also free wifi. Price was affordable and excellent. Will stay again and recommend. Owner is super friendly and nice. Planning to stay again next month.

We were looking for an affordable place to stay on OOB, so we picked Marvin Gardens. We chose the cotage with the full bed, at the price we were paying we weren't expecting much. But we were pleasantly surprised. The room was exceptional clean, very cosy and comfortable. Pay in mind this was not your modern hotel room but it had the old camp cabin feel. We found it VERY enjoyable. We had a microwave, fridge and a sink in the room, there was a nice table and chairs outside of the cabin and a firepit and picnic table in the rear. The owner's were very nice and really cared about us enjoying our stay and they do a good job of maintaining there rooms.
Marvin Gardens is a short walk to the beach and all of the shops and restaurants. Next time we come, even if we are not thinking of a vacation on a budget, we will be staying at Marvin Gardens. I have to say thank you to

Room totally misrepresented on the Internet, arrived and the room was so small and old there was one chair and no room for luggage, cancelation policy is rediculous to apply in this situation as the room was not acceptable. Had to stay at another hotel. If my money is not refunded I will contact the better business bureau of Maine. Will rate on bookings.com as well.

My girlfriend and I had a bit of a spur of the moment and decided last minute to spend the night in Old Orchard Beach. We rented out the cheapest room we could find (came out to $42.32) which came with a Double bed and no television.

When we arrived, we walked to the wrong office. Marvin, the owner, came out and suspected we may have meant to see him, and called me by my name pretty much instantly. It was about six minutes walking distance to the beach, and about ten minutes walking to Palace Playland.

He told us there were still a few spots left, and offered to upgrade us to a room with a King bed at no extra charge. We gladly accepted. The room was great, had a TV with cable, a fridge, and the bed was very comfortable.

Overall this place is hands down the best value you'll get for your dollar in the OOB. I could easily see myself spending $100+ on a similar room. Martin is extremely friendly, and the whole experience was very comfortable and safe.

I definitely recommend this place for couples that want to visit the beach on a budget! The best and most affordable place you'll find in the area.

It does depend on the time of the year that you would be visiting. Right now, the cost would be about $79/night for 2 rooms & 3 people per room. However, in peak season say in July, add on another $100 or so to that.
