Detailed Reviews
My boyfriend and I stayed here for the first time a couple weeks ago. I called the inn directly and spoke with Lisa, the owner to book our stay. She was very friendly and accommodating. We wanted a place that was close to the pier and the beach. We found it here at the Seagrass Inn. The room was cute and met our expectations. Cottage type style rooms but not very spacious. They have a pool and a grilling area if you want to bring your own food and grill. Very casual atmosphere and the staff are very nice and helpful. Location to the beach was right across the street and the pier was less than a 5 min walk. We definitely recommend and will be returning soon.

Excellent customer service, super clean grounds, sparkling clear and warm pool, and our room was fresh, updated and spotless! If you like to know where you are giving your business/money to - this location is perfect. We could tell our entire stay that they were happy if we were happy! A 2-3 minute walk to the beach, a nice short walk to the pier and plenty of restaurants and beach businesses along the way. Just the perfect location. Interested in saving money? Bring your own food and cook on one of their provided gas grills or Blackstone grill. They have areas set up under the sun, under canopies and under umbrellas... something for EVERYONE of all ages! Outside bathroom/changing room is very handy for those choosing the extended stay on departure day which allows you to stay and enjoy the afternoon on grounds after check-out. Just a really great place to stay!

I really can't say enough good things about the Seagrass, the owners are on-site and it absolutely shows! From the first warm greeting to the smile at checkout my family absolutely was bowled over by their hospitality. The rooms were immaculate, fresh smelling, and ample in size. Thank you for making our stay special.

Looking for an alternative to the places on the beach that are now becoming much more expensive. I stayed here a few times summer of 2019. The owners are lovely, the policies are a little strange though. Being on the railroad tracks can be a little bit of an issue, but for the price, I can wear earplugs and a mask, and did. Place is newly renovated and reasonably clean. Some rooms are really small and if you are upstairs you can clearly hear whomever is backed up to you. Like I said, good value for a beach place if you are enjoying yourself on the beach most the time and it is centrally located. I would stay again if they change some of their restrictive polices. Being we are in the middle of a Pandemic now, they will have to change these things to compete if they survive after. Good Luck!!!

Thank you for staying with us! 2020 was a difficult year made better by returning guests like you. We can't change the architecture of the Inn but we do our best by maintaining quiet hours and courtesy of others. The railroad tracks are part of OOB's history. Count Bassey and his band used to take the train to play on the pier. Thankfully, the trains are less frequent in the summer and they are required to slow down to a crawl. The room rates have remained the same as 2020 while other hotels are trying to make up for their losses. We hope to see you again. The beach is calling!

So our friends were staying at the Royal Anchor 7/2/21 - 7/5/21. We had decided to join them last minute and couldn’t find any hotels in the immediate area, so I booked the Ramada in Saco, Me. knowing I had until 7/1 to cancel without penalty. Since it was a 15 minute drive from our friends my plan was to stalk other OOB hotels hoping to snag a cancellation. Well Wed. night, June 30th I spotted a room at the Seagrass Inn. I called and spoke with Lisa the owner. She was very friendly and said they had a cancellation. I said great our friends are at the Royal Anchor and we want to be near them. She promptly said oh yeah we are 2 up from the Royal Anchor.” I said great! We will take it. We want to be close to them and be able meet up on the beach. Well what she failed to mention is it wasn’t 2 up from the Royal Anchor, it was almost 2 miles!! I mapped it on my phone on Friday the day we were leaving and saw it was a 33 minute walk or a 7 minute drive. I was livid that I was mislead! She refused to give me any refund even though I argued I was completely mislead so we went because I wasn’t going to lose out on $913 for a 3 night stay. Upon our arrival, we were not impressed. She gave us the keys to our 2 double bed room on the 2nd floor. It reeked of smoke and was so basic we were completely unhappy. I asked for another room because of the smoke smell and was given one, it was no better except there was no smoke smell. We quickly found out there is a train that runs daily behind the hotel at 8:20 am, the street noise is horrible & you hear every car, exhaust, stereo, walls are super thin and you hear everything! I don’t know how anyone can rate this a 10! It was our worst hotel experience ever! I would never go back. We even left a day early because of the rain and the intolerable room/noise. I am exhausted from lack of sleep and we barely saw our friends who we were supposed to be 2 up from us! What a waste!

I remember your visit. You left quite an impression. You booked your reservation for the July 4th holiday weekend. We did our very best to accommodate your needs. Unfortunately, OOB experienced a week of rain and downright terrible weather. I think this was a factor in your disappointment.

A group of us just stayed at the Seagrass Inn and enjoyed our stay immensely. Clean, comfortable lodgings, super close to the beach. You literally cross the street and within 5 minutes you are on your chair enjoying the gorgeous beach. Lisa and Peter the property owners are super friendly and go out of their way to make you feel relaxed and on vacation. We had stayed here years ago when our kids were young under different owners. Peter and Lisa have done a fabulous job with room renovations and decorating. Rooms are clean, spacious, mini fridge provided works great. The bed is very comfortable. Out back is a pool and deck, with BBQ grills if you wish to grill out. Super central location to everything. Great for families. Minutes to the amusement park, restaurants, beach bars, and other activities. We can't wait to return next year.

This motels owner wife is to busy mining everybody's business. She says in a saying a nice place to stay. But she is wrong when something happens she makes you leave even if it's not your fought. I will never go there again. That's why I am writing this review. Stay away if you don't want a nosey wife of the owner to get into your business. Also my husband cut his leg on one of there beds in the room because the wood corner of the bed was sharp and all they gave me was bandards.

First, this is the motels owner's husband. If you are being fair, then you'd need to acknowledge that my wife performed admirably during the emergency with your husband. I won't go into the details here, but we do have video for both events, Sunday and then again on Monday. For those more interested on learning more about this guests stay at the Seagrass Inn, there is a Police report that is a matter of public record. Candidly, I am disappointed by your lack of gratitude towards my wife. A honest review would thank us for our quick thinking and willingness to take action on your behalf.

I was very happy with our ‘Welcome’ by the Seagrass Inn owners right from the start. We had terrible weather and we were delayed in arrival. Peter and Lisa made our check seamless with no worries.
The rooms were very cared for, clean and comfortable for a family of four. The proximity to the beach and the boardwalk was within walking distance. The pool and the patio area in the back was as a great alternative to the beach or to wind down from a day out.
From their service and their local eatery recommendations, Peter and Lisa made it feel like we were staying with friends. I highly recommend this Inn for a hometown experience at Old Orchard Beach.

Our stay was simply incredible. First, Lisa welcomed our family with so much kindness, taking time to speak to our kids. Anything we had to ask to the owners, we never felt like we were annoying and they were taking time to meet our needs as well as possible. They even got beyond our expectations in terms of generosity, giving free stuff for our children.
The motel was very clean and every details are taken care of. Peter seems to be always lookin forward to improve his establishment, and we can see him work from 7 am to 10 pm everyday, takin care of his customers even when he’s on a short break, speaking to every of his customers.
It’s also very close to the beach (2 min) and downtown (4 min) by foot.
Thanks for everything, hoping to see you again on our next visit.

Great location in the city center just steps from attractions and the beach. Depending on your room you can see the sea from the balcony. Beautiful pool at the back. Super welcoming and attentive owners. Rooms are substantially like all rooms in the city

The hotel actually opens in May. When I make my reservations I call in March. That's the earliest time when someone is there to take the call. There are 2 numbers - 800-486-1681 or 207-934-4866. Hope this info is helpful. Best Regards.
