We spent 4 days in the JBay Zebra Lodge. It is a really great lodge with a very large property, the view is also beautiful. We had the luxury suite "Earth", which was very tastefully decorated. The bathroom also looks really great and is a good size. The terrace offers enough privacy to enjoy the view. The special feature of this property is of course the zebras that live on the property. We think it's good that these animals have enough space to retreat thanks to the very large property. You can see the zebras near the suites or the main house, but then they disappear for a few hours. The animals are doing really well here, and we found living together with the guests very nice. But we would like to make suggestions for improvement: - The pool is small, but nicely laid out. There are only four loungers for guests on the pool terrace. We think that's not enough, because on our first day we wanted to enjoy the pool, but the few loungers were already taken. We would recommend at least two more loungers, e.g. on the lawn, so that guests can enjoy the pool when the weather is nice. - The breakfast is beautifully presented at each table, but 2 slices of salami and two half slices of ham and 2 strips of cheese are very little for two guests. Of course you can order more, but it takes a while until you get another 4 slices of salami. We would also have been happy with real rolls or slices of bread, because these mini rolls didn't really taste that good. - The evening menu on offer was "OK", but the taste could still be improved. There was only a 3-course menu to book with no options at all. We didn't experience this in other accommodations, where you could choose between fish, meat or vegetarian at breakfast for the evening, at least for the main course. We therefore preferred to eat in a restaurant in Jeffreys Bay in the evening. These are just suggestions, we were overall satisfied with our stay and would happily recommend the JBay Country Lodge because we really liked the idea of having zebras on the property.

Great lodge on a hill with a wonderful view over Jeffreys Bay. Very family-friendly atmosphere with lots of peace and privacy. The breakfast is excellent and with a large selection. We also had dinner in the lodge, which was very tasty and special requests were catered for. The zebras on the doorstep and right in front of you at breakfast are the highlight.
The only negative point this time: We were in this lodge for the second time (this time 2 couples) and had booked both luxury tents 7 months in advance, as they really offer a luxurious safari feeling and should have been a highlight of our trip. However, when we arrived, one of the tents was unusable due to a water problem and we had to move to a suite/room. Unfortunately, this contributed to the feeling not being as great and special for us as the first time. Unfortunately, the high ceilings and windows meant that the room could not be darkened and from 5:30 a.m. it was as bright as day in the room and sleep was out of the question. We would have liked to have been informed beforehand and to have been able to decide whether this was right for us.

The lodge was beautiful with staff making a big effort to details. The safari tent was well kept and furnished to a hight standard. It was a shame that snacks in the accommodation were charged extra for and that bottled water was not provided free. The menu for dinner was very tasty but more choices would enhance the experience and cater for differing tastes. The infinity pool had an amazing view and was very clean but there were insufficient sunbeds which was a shame although the proprietors did acknowledge this and this is being addressed. Overall, a charming place to stay.

My wife and I decided to stopover at J-Bay Zebra Lodge on our way back home to East London from Cape Town. We stayed in the “Stone Luxury Suite”, which was extremely spacious, clean, and comfortable, with a modern bathroom and large walk-in shower. The property is extremely neat and well maintained and is in a lovely, safe, and quiet area with spectacular views of the surrounding area. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves just relaxing, appreciating the view, and watching the zebra grazing and wandering around the property. The three-course dinner was superb, and the breakfast was delicious with a good, varied selection. Overall, we had an excellent stay at Zebra Lodge.

The Hospitality of the owners and staff was excellent. Upon arrival was greeted warmly, fast check-in, and led to my room. The accommodation and facilities are purposed around the view, so I spent my time just reading and enjoying the peace and quiet. The room was clean and comfortable. The only downside of the room that I was in, is that the outside light was casting a lot of indirect light into the room through a side window, influencing the quality of my sleep.
The breakfast was excellent and value for money.

My husband and I and our 7 year old son stayed for one night while traveling the garden route- it was fantastic. The property is beautiful and set on huge amount of acres. Great little pool to cool off with zebras walking around. They do offer dinner since it is far away from town and that was delicious! We had to leave at 6am in the morning and the chef made us bfst at 5:30! Very unexpected but appreciated. Princess- the hostess was wonderful. Our room was beautiful with a loft room for our son complete with a hammock! Just a wonderful experience.

Lovely scenic view with the Zebra’s roaming freely around the lodge. The surroundings are tranquil and we enjoyed spending the weekend together as a family. The hosts are lovely people and the food that they prepared for us was also just as lovely. Will definitely recommend for anyone wanting to break away for a weekend or two!

JBay Zebra Lodge is definitely a must visit by anyone wanting to experience superb tranquility. The views, the hospitality is just amazing. Florbela and her husband just go out of their way to ensure that your stay is 5 Star. From when we enquired, to our planning, to our arrival they basically catered for all our needs. They assisted us with activities around Jeffrey’s Bay and ensured that we didn’t miss our times by constantly following up. Their Zebra’s were definitely the cherry on top👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽and i don't even want to mention the staff and the cheff 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽We will definitely be going back🥰🥰🥰

This place is 100 out of 10! A truly exceptional!. Excellent in every detail. Beautiful views of the hills and ocean, luxurious chalets with fireplaces, everything is thought out to the smallest detail. The wonderful owners provide a truly warm welcome. Possibly the best hotel we have ever stayed at. Be sure to book dinner at the hotel - it's amazing - and try the wine that was developed for this amazing location.
