We stayed at the SR condos now for 3 years straight and this what I came up in terms of a review. The Pros: Location, location, location. Every single one of these condos have a excellent location, right next to the South Ridge Lodge. Big ample parking, and a short drive to everything Sunday River has to offer. $$$$ you cannot beat the price of ski and ski out that you get from this place. Especially if you are skiing with families or small children. Plus you pretty much ski for free when your stay at this location. Also, service such as guest services, maintenance and housekeeping it's pretty good. Again, nothing extraordinary but just very humble and polite crew. The Cons: The overall facilities are VERY dated. This time we stayed at room A126, and it was very nice with modern TV and wifi. But other the times we have stayed at different apartments, and you feel like you're stuck in the 90s. The game room seems like stayed frozen in time (90's again). The pool area is ok, not bad but nothing to brag about. In conclusion, although this facility it's not super fancy or modern, the price you pay with the convenience of accessible prime time Ski, makes it a very attractive option for families or groups. You need to take in consideration that they can do much better, but considering that every unit it's privately own, makes it very difficult for the management of the resort to oversight every apartment looks and overall appeal. But I personality will be staying there sometime in the near future, as I don't think that anything else beats it overall. If you're looking for a down to earth please, with not a lot of fancy, plus great location at a very reasonable price, then this is a place to go.

This condo is located in a great location, right near the South Ridge Lodge and the Chondola lift. True ski-in-ski-out, in that you can go downhill both coming to and leaving the condo. It could not be more convenient especially if you have a first floor unit. Staff is friendly and helpful. Someone on here compared these condos to a Best Western. It's more like a dated Motel 6, if they rented condos. I think it was built in the 80's, and nothing has been renovated since then. Worn carpet, lumpy mattresses, frayed blankets and old appliances. The cleaning was truly subpar. There were even old gummy worms hanging out with the dust bunnies under one of the beds. These look like a bargain for slopeside condos, but buyer beware, you get what you pay for.

We booked through Sunday River. Each condo is different; these are individually owned but are rented via Sunday River. We had a 2 level with queen bed, a bunk bed, and pull out couch which was perfect for 2 adults and 2 teens. The bedroom was down stairs and the ski locker room was on the other side of the wall so that was our alarm clock each day - but we where to ski so it was not a problem. There is a small kitchen so we stopped at the Hannaford's market in Oxford on the way. The building has an indoor pool and hot tub which was clean and there is an attendant as you enter the pool area long with changing rooms. There are no pool towels. We stayed 3 nights and they do a towel exchange each day. We would stay here again - nothing fancy, but suits the purpose. There are shuttles from the parking lot to other Sunday River sites as well as transportation to Bethel.

Room Tip: We stayed in A133 which was on the end of the building, closest to the ski slope.

Our family of three stayed in a one bedroom unit for three nights in March. We weren’t expecting anything fancy—something along the lines of a Courtyard Marriott knowing we weren’t going to get a Westin. But what we got was on par with, or a level below, a Best Western. The condos were obviously built some time ago, have not been maintained particularly well and are showing their age. On the bright side, service was friendly and the units were slopeside and allowed easy access to and from the trails. Our unit was a duplex with a living room, kitchen/eating area and bathroom on the main entry level and a bedroom down the stairs (no door). The kitchen appliances were old but functional, no dishwasher. The bedroom had a bunk bed and queen sized bed so it could sleep four. This unit had wired internet but no wifi. Luckily, I had brought my own router so we had good wifi during our stay. No fireplaces in these units. There was a “concierge” on duty in the small common area of the building and service was actually pretty good. When we asked for a light bulb and hair dryer, she cheerfully called maintenance and it came soon. The room shower never got really hot and when I mentioned it to the concierge, she said all the units have tiny hot water heaters so there wasn’t much they could do. She did send the maintenance man over but he couldn’t do anything. There is a good sized indoor pool and an indoor hot tub off the main floor and the water was plenty warm. There is no washer/dryer in the unit; there is a laundry room with two washers and two dryers in the basement (Make sure you bring your own detergent). They were never in use when we went down, but then again it was the end of the season and the entire building was pretty empty. The ski lockers are also in the basement. You get a key to a very thin athletic-type locker that can just hold about three sets of skis and no boots. At least it’s located right next to the door that leads out to the slopes—a few steps and you’re gliding down to the main lifts and gondola. I’m glad we chose the Sunrise over Brookside, which is billed as slopeside but is actually across the parking lot and road from the trails so you’ll have to haul your stuff about a hundred yards. All in all, I wasn’t impressed with these accommodations. On Sunday River’s website, Boynes (the company that owns the resort) categorizes these units as 2 Stars (out of 5). All of the condos at Sunday River are 2 Stars, except for one that only has 3-4 bedrooms and sleeps 8-10. So it seems Sunrise and the other Studio, 1 and 2 bedroom buildings are the best condos this resort has to offer, which is a shame. As much as I like to ski at Sunday River, I also like to ski in and ski out and it’s hard to fork out the dollars to stay in these dwellings.

I really like the place we stayed in here. Each unit is different so each decorated differently. Luckily ours was very basic however, our friends had one that looked like it was decorated in the 70's. It was on the first floor and had a lower bedroom (no door) with a queen and two bunk beds. The couch also opened up as a bed too. There was a flat screen TV in the unit and some videotapes. The set up was basic however, the big plus of these condos is the location to the main lodge. You kept your skies in a locker in the basement and all you had to do was go out the door and ski down to the South Ridge area, very convienent. There was a pool and a hot tube also as part of the building so you didn't have to go outside to access either. There is only room for 1 car in the lot (they give you a permit to put in your window).
