Detailed Reviews
There are plenty of guest photos available to give you an idea of the hotel, which is obviously older but nostalgic. The best service was from the bell hop, who personally saw to it that we were able to access our room since the key didn’t work. We were promised River view: we got city view of course. 🙄 The room was large, with an expanded bathroom, too bad there are no jets in the soaking tub. It was hard to get the room temperature correct— it was either too hot or too cold. The bed was a little soft. We got a great deal on the one night and wanted to support the casino since they sponsored the sports event we attended. Nice to have a couple of premium channels. Tried to grab a coffee in the morning, but the line was too long and too slow to wait— had to go to Starbucks. Casino was TIGHT— no money in blackjack and craps.

We made reservations before reading the reviews so we were a little worried about our stay. I would have given a higher rating except for the maids down the hall from our room, yelling at each other and using foul language. Not Professional. Checking in was easy. The room was spacious and clean. It had very good lighting, instant hot water and the linens were bright white. The bathroom was large with separate tub and shower. The beds were very good . Over all I would say the room was excellent.

So first of all, the room was great! Very comfortable bed, clean, very large as was the bathroom. Separate shower and tub (soaking tub). Fridge in room, large screen TV with nice remote and good service. Fast elevators and there were 4 of them and you had to have a room key to go up so good security. Free water and coffee in room as well. Free parking across the street as well.
Now the bad (some of this can be considered ticky tac). I was there one a Monday, mistake 1. The place is on a skeleton crew from Monday-Wednesday. No room service, no valet, no bellman. They charge a resort fee of like 14 bucks. Are you kidding me? A resort fee? Elevators were kind of dirty. When I got to my room, there was a pile of trash in front of it and dirty towels, but the room was clean. Gaps in the door let huge amounts of light in. Not very many outlets and every light in the bedroom and outside hallways are LED's. Not a fan of those. Only one very small trash can in the room and turns out this is in other rooms as well. Room could use some touch up work on a few things as well such as scratches and chips on wood. Any time I need any kind of service I was lucky to get any at all due to the place being a desert on Mondays.
I'd def stay here again but would fight the resort fee (no valet, no room service, no bellman). Very reasonably priced and the casino was nice but beware... smoking is being allowed again

We stayed on a Saturday night and expected a larger crowd in the casino. It was close to empty. Our room was missing wash cloths and the shower mat so we resorted to using the hand towels for both. Service in the Sportsman restaurant was very slow and staff seemed unorganized. We have stayed here many times when it was the El Dorado and were always pleased with the overall experience. Not sure if the change to Bally’s, Covid aftermath or the fact that all facilities in Shreveport have gone no-smoking has affected this property, but we will not return in the future.

Not sure where to begin on the review so I’ll start from the beginning. Booked through Expedia. I could tell from the they were short staffed at check in so I told myself and kids to give them a break. Valet parking was promised when I booked so I asked about Valet at check in I was told at closed at 5pm. What casino closes valet at 5pm. This isn’t the Post Office😂. During the check in I asked what was the “Resort Fees” I was being charged the front desk agent said “man I have no clue all Vegas hotels charge resort fees so we do too”. I then went to our Non-Smoking room to almost have my child gag from smoke after we open the doors. Went downstairs to tell front desk they said all rooms are nonsmoking. I saw well I guess you missed this one. They switched us to another room. This one didn’t smell. Yeah! Next we got ready to take showers. The hot water wouldn’t work. I called front desk they said it would be about 30 minutes. I called back after hour to only find out they had no idea when it would be fixed. During the night we get message on intercom in our room about 2am telling us the “threat had been cleared” whatever that was. Finally next morning I tried to take shower again to find no hot water still. I stopped by front desk and by this point I decided to ask if maybe they would “comp” breakfast or something. I was told “Baby only Hotel Director” can make any decisions and he won’t be in till mid-morning today. They need some Hotel Staff and Management training.

There were too many issues to list, but the most important is probably the elevators. When I checked in, they had four elevators that were working. As the evening came, it was down to one elevator. To get your room, you could catch an elevator from three different floors. You have to go to the first floor to get on the one working elevator. It would take 15 mins to up or down ( sometimes longer). I also heard two different people who complain about their rooms. One lady was upset she had to move rooms because her room smelled like “s h * t”Well the other complained that the bed was still dirty. One of my pillowcases had a stained and smelled funny , I had a lampshade that was completely busted up and two lamps that did not have working lightbulb and the clock did not work. Oh yes the carpet was visibly dirty/stained.
As far as the casinos, I didn’t see anybody winning any money or at least no one had a runner distributing large amount of cash. I noticed a few other machines were very old. You could barely see the symbols on the reels.
The hotel does not have a pool, so why would I be paying resort fees? Two bottles of water in my room?
Overall, I probably will never stay at this hotel again

We were astonished coming here. We’ve never been to Shreveport, from the website we thought we were going to a nice hotel for a very quick getaway. For our anniversary. My husband requested flowers to be there with a card before our arrival.. that’s almost laughable thinking of that now! Yet the hotel was practically deserted but our suite.. drawers open and would not close, broken cabinetry, barely clean room. 1 hanger in closet, 2 bottles of toiletries, one set of towels. The front desk knew it was our anniversary, even said ‘I’ll put you in a room with a view’.. yeah that didn’t happen. Yet yesterday a family with a screaming newborn in the adjacent room.. of the hundreds of rooms to choose from, they put the other occupants next to us. Crying over 4 hours.. we genuinely wonder if the guests just left the baby there alone.. Called the front desk, we requested towels, two more styrofoam cups.. Never happened. When we checked in, sign states ‘resort fee now $14.99 plus tax a day.’ When I checked out, I told the front desk there better not be a charge for tomorrow since we’re leaving at 10p to go home, a day early. Resort Fee is a total bizarre joke.
Only restaurant open was Sportsman in lobby, first night.. only manager plus 1 other employee so takeout only available. Tried to order Gumbo, none available, ordered pasta instead and a cheeseburger.. Burger had CheeseWiz ladled on it, pouring out of serving container, Pasta cold. I was concerned I would contract e.Coli or worse. The tab for this monstrosity? $43. Only bar open was in the casino. Positives: The bartenders excellent, the very kind and hustling Bellhop when we checked in.. we played a few games on a slot machine, electronic poker.. I was joking that our drinks only cost $40 from playing games. This little romp in Shreveport? $550 not including other restaurant bill, gas. Panhandlers throughout the parking lot, practically all restaurants in the area are closing at 8p which works be fine if even ONE at casino was serving.. no such luck. Fortunately we drove out to seriously awesome restaurant outside town.. Frank’s.. highly recommend. So, 4 restaurants, 2 bars, spa? Yeah nothing open. COMPLETE SCAM. I’d love to get our money back but we’ll never return to Shreveport again..

OK, I usually don't complain but the last trip to Bally's (Jan 28 - Jan 30) started out bad when the card key wouldn't open our door. Had to wait in the hallway for about 15 minutes until the bellhop returned only to say we had to move to another room. When we got to that room the door didn't even need the card key it was already open. One of the beds looked as if someone had been laying on it already, but my sister and I decide we could make it work so we re-did the bed, spraying it and everything down with Lysol. The dressers we so dusty we could see it where maybe they attempted to wipe them down but not very good. The kicker: On Sunday morning we're getting dressed and a bellhop just walked right into our room without knocking. We were half dressed. He apologized but we were so shocked we couldn't say a word. We dressed and went downstairs to see if we could see the guy to report but we couldn't find him. We told the front desk upon check out but all we received was a weak "I'm sorry". I have called for the Director of Hotel Operations only to be told he's not in. I will continue to call until I reach someone of authority.

The worst hotel in my 70 years of life. I have traveled far and wide. Stayed at $1500 per night joints and $3 night stays. Slept in my pickup, on the ground and even one night in the drunk tank. This was the lowest.
They precharged my credit card $50 in case of room damage. On entering the room there was a 6" square patch of carpet that had been repaired with what looked like brown rag where the blue carpet A hole in our rooms carpet was patched with a brown rag. We were walk-ins and paid $120 for a Monday night. Online the prices range between $62-$79. The walls are paper thin. The people next door were partying a bit and had their TV up loud. At 2am when they were still talking up a storm, I tried calling the front desk. Our room phone didnt work. At 4am I got up and dressed to go to the front desk to plead for help. The night manager said they would call security to give us some quiet time. I returned to the room but security never came up to check out the problem as I would have heard a knock at their door and any conversation. At about 5:30am their phone rang 3 times. They did turn down the TV so Im guessing security finally got the word.
Skip Bally here and wherever they offer a bed. Stay in any flea bag motel or tent or cardboard box. You at least will sleep 40 winks.

where do i begin.. This was my first visit since the pandemic started. What a change.. for the worse. Only one place to eat, and the food average at best. Breakfast was ok, but I tried a simple hamburger and it was very overcooked, the tomato slice completely covered the patty. Chicken fried steak was ok, the fish was terrible, and this was the best part of my 3 days there. The room was fine, however they do not disclose the 12 dollars a night fee for resort amenities. They said it covered internet parking and other amenities. The internet was terrible, would not connect most of the time and when it did was very slow and go off constantly. For 2 days they were testing the fire alarm system, and one night at 3 in the morning they made a very loud in room anouncement that the fire test were over. Why did they have to wake up everyone to tell them that. Now for the casino, I used to get comps there all the time, never paid for a meal. Now they have a system where the pit boss cannot comp, but you are awarded dollars on your player card. I played about 30 hours or more at the black jack table, average about 20 to 25 per hand, was a 15 minimum and my total reward was 4 dollars. I told them they could keep it. I am not a sore loser, i actually left with more that i came it with, but for a casino that advertised they have the best comps and take care of their patrons, I felt completely snubbed. I will not go back unless changes are made back to where they used to be. This is a resort, clubs where closed, buffet closed, and no internet. Nothing to do when your not gambling.

I'm so sorry but I haven't logged into my account in a long time. All of there restaurants have great tasting food. I don't know if they serve a traditional thanksgiving dinner with cornbread dressing. I've never eaten there on Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays.
Do not walk back from the municipal, while I love the city I grew up in this is not an area to be walking late night. You will need to take an Uber or Lyft because El Dorado does not provide shuttle service.
I do not know as I drove there myself
