We had told friends that we were traveling north through Namibia ending up in Katima Mulilo, on hearing this they suggested that we go over to Zambia and stay with Nicky Rossouw, the only information that we were given was keep left after the border post and drive for about 40Km, we didn't even have the name of his lodge/camp. On arrival we found out that it was self catering, but Nicky was more than willing to assist us by opening his kitchen to us, but this was not necessary as we had enough food with us.

The camp is clean and tidy and the accommodation was great. We loved the rustic of the camp. The location is beautiful beyond belief. We arrived while the Zambezi was rising at great an unbelievable rate. Nicky took us out on a river trip and he showed us the most amazing sights on various islands. Nicky's knowledge of the birds, animals and plants in the area is great.

I would recommend Nina Fishing Camp to any one, this was the best camp that we stayed at during our entire trip.

We have travelled through southern Africa with painting groups the last 7 years, and Nina Camp is by far the best Africa experience till date.
The camp offers a true, genuine Africa atmosphere at the banks of the mighty Zambezi River. The rooms are nice and rustic all having private toilet and shower and a fantastic view to the river and sunrises.
We had full board all week and the food was wonderfull. Lovely freshly baked bread for english breakfast, delicious tasty dishes for lunch and dinner. The table was every day layed with new freshly picked flowerdecorations.
Our hosts Nicky, Elna, Theo & Marnie went out of their way to make our stay perfect.
They took us on a boat trip to one of the islands in the river and served us a wonderfull Braai on the white beach from where we could swim in the shallow water not more than a few hundred meters from a flock of splashing and snorting hippos. It was almost unbelievable.
Nina Camp is a tropic paradise of beauty, peace & quiet, at the banks of one of the mightiest rivers in Africa.
For a group of artists like us - it offered lovely covered areas next to the rooms just perfect for paintingworkshops.
The staff were also very friendly and polite.
During fishing season April-October it is of course the perfect place for people enjoying angling / tiger fishing.
A true African Paradise. We want to come back.

A great place in a beautiful setting, one of the best settings in Africa. The camp is rustic, but clean and very comfortable, very good value. Nicky was a super host and looked after us well. He knows the river well and we had good fishing. Can highly recommend the Camp.

We were on the point of cancelling our reservation at Nina due to the border taxes of Zambia, but Nicky Rousouw offered to pick us up in Katima-Mulillo and organized that our car be parked at friends of his house.
What a suprise waited for us in Zambia. The nicest camp at the river, but it is not only the camp itself that made our stay outstanding - it is also the the way in which Nicky treated us. Thank-you Nicky for a wonderful time and your place is highly recommended and we shall come again.

A fishing camp it may be, but for pure R&R it is very hard to beat; at very affordable rates.

We were passing on bicycles up to Mongu and were lucky enough to find this truely beautiful piece of paradise! We stayed in a lovely room looking out over the river, and had an excellent dinner. Dont be fooled by the cheap price of the rooms - they are well equipped, clean with an amazing view. Truely great value for money and well worth a visit!

With the recent murder looming in the area, we realised that it could be dangerous and we had to be very careful. As the accommodation didn’t have any security or ability to lock our room door, we couldn’t sleep for worry.
We then heard that the lodge owner (Nicky) had been arrested for the crime!
We decided to leave that same day and move on. Which was a shame as the lodge is in a lovely area.

Every single thing about Nina Fishing Camp exceeded my expectations! The owner, Nicky Rossouw, is an amazing host and apart from excellent service and always a welcoming smile on his face, his cooking skills is out of this world?! The food was prepared with such enthusiasm, his got the perfect herb garden with every single herb you can think of, a kitchen that is so fantastic and practical with such a view .. anyone that loves food's dream!! We had a braai on the water's edge, the rooms very lovely and clean and the VIEW .. the VIEW from this lodge is so amazing and the only thing I can say that is negative is that our stay was toooo short! Thanks Nicky!!

Good day! May I please know the exact location of Nina Lodge? I am missing it on the website. Kind regards

Hi There, It's located around 50k North of the Namibia Border Crossing (On the Zambian side). Follow the river, keeping it on your right hand side. You will pick up signs for the lodge. It's a Bump & Grind road - so please take it easy, and enjoy the scenery!
