Detailed Reviews
My wife and I had an unforgettable stay in the Farm House Cottage at Karoo Pandok and were overwhelmed by the peace and tranquility of this serene location, almost halfway between Johannesburg and Cape Town. The owner, Louise, went out of her way to ensure that our stay would meet every expectation of the weary traveller. The self-catering Cottage is well equipped, clean, and overlooks the pasture where horses graze. We booked B&B accommodation and the breakfast was by far the very best we've had at any establishment. We went for dinner at Die Ou Kar restaurant in the village of Bethulie and enjoyed mouthwatering, succulent lamb chops. Karoo Pandok is our firm favourite stopover!

We had a very comfortable one night stay at Karoo Pandok. To have a small kitchen attached to the room was a plus. The friendliness of the staff was outstanding. We also appreciated the fact that the manager warned us of the fact that there were no restaurants open in the town on a Sunday evening well before our visit.

We arrived in the dark during loadshedding (blackout) and Louise and her husband went out of their way to assist us. Karoo Pandok is a pet friendly place, which is a major bonus if you are travelling with pets. It is a great place to stay overnight on route to the Western Cape.

Karoo Pandock is great value for money. I stayed in the farmers cottage with two dogs and three cats. The cottage is roomy and provides everything you might need for self catering. I especially enjoyed the fireplace. They are very friendly and willing to help with any small requests. Also make an excellent breakfast. The area is quite rural, but there is good security. It should be noted that the garden fence is not completely secure for small dogs but would be fine for larger dogs. Overall a very pleasant stay.

We hd a very comfortable, relaxed and enjoyable stay in the Farm House of Karoopandok.
A beautiful open-living space with bed and cupboard, a dining table, living room setup and kitchen. All kitchen appliances and utilities are there, you only have to bring your own food and consumables.
We loved to sit on the porch and just experience nature.
Our host, Louise, is very friendly and willing to assist with suggestions of must-see areas, or assisting with something you might have forgotten at home like scissors.
We also had our three dogs with us and they enjoyed the open space and farm life!

Our road trip between Johannesburg and Cape Town we decided to take the back routes through the Eastern Cape. Our first stop was in Bethulie and we found the gem of accommodation at the Karoo Pandok Farmers Cottage.
Louise and Bruce were incredible hosts. We had a vehicle issue and Bruce stayed with us throughout the whole ordeal.
The cottage was beautifully appointed, clean and lovely big rooms.
We ate our meals at the local Die Ou Car and the food was incredible.
Highly recommended and we will be back.
Thanks to the Fouries for looking after us. Dankie Dankie

The venue is situated just on the fringe of Bethulie and one experiences a farm-like athmosphere. The rooms are stylishly decorated and comfortable. Hygiene is faultless. The hostess, Louise, is very friendly and helpful and she prepared a very tasty breakfast (optional extra) on-site. The only drawback is the road, being a gravel road that can be travelled by a normal sedan. I definitely recommend it as a value for money stay!

Louise was very friendly and helpful, however the actual accomodation has alot to be desired.
The bathroom sink had a leak where a bucket was placed underneath it to catch the water.
The toilet bowl was stained.
The beds were old and falling in.
Overall, the place did not feel clean and therefore we did not enjoy our stay.

Unfortunately the aircon was not working in the main room and whilst I raised this with the manager, via WhatsApp, I have yet to receive a reply. So we did not sleep well because of that. Otherwise, the house and the rooms were nice and clean with a lot of space. I liked that the property was out of town.

Warm and helpful Welcome. Suggestions of where to have dinner good, as well as organising Museum visit.
Clean; and we appreciated Elec Blankets for the cold, and plenty of Tea, Coffee, Milk and Rusks.
Lots of hot water for shower and pressure was good.
Would suggest a strip of something to illuminate the step from bedroom down to bathroom for night trips to the bathroom.
The Entrance gate was a bit awkward.
