Came for the first time in Dec 2018. The team was very friendly and professional. Its a no frills lodge that makes you feel at home. The cook makes great lasagne, chicken stew and braai. The river guides know everything there is to know about local wildlife. A trip worth taking.

Great place to spend time with friends and family. Separate lodges and tents in close proximity with beautiful communal boma area make it an ideal spot for larger groups / several families each wanting some privacy. Comfortable and pleasant. Very accommodating staff make your life very easy. You need to bring all the food and drink, and grill your own meat for dinner, but otherwise the staff do all the preparation, setting up, and the dishes. They'll make a beautiful log fire any night you want and provide sharpened sticks for roasting marshmallows. Great pool mostly in shade right beside the boma and lodges - all overlooking the majestic Zambezi river. Climbing the baobab tree was a lot of fun, and expertly led by Paul. Very much off the beaten track. On the drive along the dirt road the local village children wave and smile merrily. Numerous little goats along the journey were also a big hit with the kids! 4 wheel drive is an asset but one of our group made it without incident in a small Toyota. Air conditioning would have been nice as we visited on an extremely hot weekend. Fans were provided. All in all an excellent location. Thanks to all the staff for a very enjoyable trip.

Located on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River only 3 hours from Lusaka Wildtracks is a perfect place for a weekend break. The lodge is either fully catered or self catering, the choice is yours. You will have to bring your own drinks either way. We chose the fully catered option and were well looked after. There is also a campsite for those wanting to rough it. Sunset boat trips were excellent with great animal sightings, elephant and buffalo being the highlight. Bird watching was excellent with great close up viewing of nesting southern carmine bee-eaters. The eagle eyed guide was very knowledgeable. If fishing is your thing boats are available with a guide so you can catch the feisty tiger fish. If you have your own boat you can moor it at the lodge but probably best to launch it at Gwabi and travel by river as the Chiawa road is rough in places. While not on the river you can sit at the lodge with a cold drink and watch the great volume of the Zambezi slide silently by. Or cool off in the pool. Rin and Chris were excellent hosts and all the lodge staff were very friendly. Couldn't fault the lodge in any way.
