We had a really wonderful time. The managers, Tiffany and Jeff, were very attentive and Jeff's stories around the campfire on the first night was a highlight! David was a wonderful guide; lively, chatty and knowledgable. We've been on many safaris and he picked up on our experience and told us interesting facts we'd never heard before. My husband is an amateur birder and David was fantastic at identifying so many birds with just a flutter of a wing! Diverson the head waiter was amazing, so sweet and when the camp was busy I took time alone to sit by the fire away from the chaos and he came over and engaged me in conversation which was very thoughtful. He mentioned our names often which was a lovely personal touch and remembered our drinks and breakfast orders to a tee! He's a…
We were not lucky enough to stay here. When our resort’s 4x4 broke we were able to book a park game drive on short notice through Muvvu. Even though we were not staying there hey were amazingly welcoming. Thanks for helping us in a pinch. Pool looked amazing
Wonderful campsite right on the Zambezi. Under shaded trees. Our spot was called Elly. Can highly recommend. Peter was there to help erect tent. Wash dishes etc. the best part was our own ablution block. At night they put kerosene lamps around our spot. It also had a lovely long table and chairs right next to the river, for each camp site. Great swimming pool to cool off. Nice bar and restaurant. Canoe trips are organized as well as game drives and boat trips
We've been to a few different places along the lower Zambezi river over the last few years and this has been by far our favourite. We went with the self-catering camping option and we were truly spoiled at Mvuu lodge. The lodge's campsite attendant, Peter, is amazing. He washed our car since it was filthy from the bad road leading here. He kept the garbage empty and the wood pile full. He catered to our every need. He is incredible. Elly is the site we would recommend if you are not too afraid of getting up close to animals. Just a few steps down from the private amenities, is a wonderful terrace on the river with fire pit and cushioned chairs. Being right up to the river brought hippos. Twice, there were elephants on the site. Baboons and monkeys during the day were constantly…
My wife and I stayed at Mvuu Lodge early March. Driving to Churundu from Lusaka, we took the MVUU lodge boat down the Zambezi to the Lodge. Fantastic start to our trip. Lots of wildlife along the banks of the river. Pure Africa. Great welcome at the Lodge upon arrival. Easy check in. Accommodation was superb and private. Service was spot on. Not too intrusive, but available when required. Food was tasty with a high standard wine list. We did a river cruise in late afternoon. A must do. Again. Lots of wildlife on the bank. Even some buffalo which was a treat! The owners, Brett & Lynne, really made our stay memorable. Fantastic people, great company. We loved every minute. We will definitely return.
Tough gravel road driving to lodge, from Chirundu. Grassy camp side under big shade trees. Nice ablution facilities per campsite. Friendly and helpful staff. Free fire wood. Nice swimming pool. We hired a boat for two days to try our hand at tiger fishing. Got some nice tigers! Beautiful nature with lots of birds.
Best lodge if visiting the lower Zambezi!! We stayed at Mvuu's "Ellie" camp site (the best as closest to the river) for 2 nights. The lodge catered for us brilliantly. From the moment we arrived the owners and the staff were incredibly welcoming and super helpful. They made us feel at home immediately and were going out of their way to help us out with any issues we might have had concerning our car or the route we should take. Even just chatting to them in the evening made those 2 days incredible as the atmosphere was always relaxed and very entertaining because the owners knew so many adventurous stories. We also did a canoe safari (3 hours long) on the lower Zambezi (organised by the lodge and with their staff) and were very happy with the results as we could spot multiple…
Mvuu is the best place to go camping near the Lower Zambezi. It has a nice pool and restaurant. We hired a boat for the day which was great - saw hippos, elephants, etc. Staff were very helpful. Good place to stay with families.
What a wonderful place to stay...a campsite kanniedood that was secluded and well appointed ( pity it was the dry season, would have loved to see the waterfall in flow ) Faan was a perfect host at the Lodge which was a nice break from the bush. A little further from Livingstone that expected but really a lovely lovely spot. looking down on rapid 17
My husband and I loved our stay at Mvuu Lodge. We were part of a large family group with ages ranging from 2 years to 85. The lodge catered for us all brilliantly. We experienced both camping (Ellie Camp) and a chalet (No.5) - both were very comfortable and our man John handled our needs exceptionally well. Full marks to him. The food was consistently good particularly considering how far the lodge is away from a shop.Only thing that was disappointing was the fishing! Please could you sort that out for the next trip!! Thanks to everyone, particularly Lynn and Brett who were marvellous hosts. We were sorry they had to leave before we had heard all the stories. Keep up the good work.
