Very spacious and neat. Perfect for a weekend away. Private but also has a homely feel. Lovely outside area to sit and enjoy a sea view. Pretty garden to look over. Would recommend Oyster Kaya. Price reasonable compared to other places in the area.
This was a five star experience with nothing to fault apart from the one night stay which means we will have to go back! Lindy and Bokkie gave us such a warm welcome and we were most impressed with the luxurious accommodation, the friendly dogs and the gourmet dinner and breakfast served.
Liked: Oyster Kaya @Oyster Bay, promised and (almost) delivered. First, on the good side - the hosts are wonderful folks and great at communicating with their guest before and during the stay. In addition, the place resembles what you see on the pictures in the best possible way - lovely sea views, great balcony, big airy windows and well-appointed interiors. Very neat and clean. Overall, great location and fantastic facilities. This part we loved. Disliked: What marred what could have been a great experience is the attitude and behaviour of a particular staff member. From the moment we arrived - I could tell that she was not happy to see us. The manner she answered me when I enquired about the reception told me all. Thankfully the owners knew how to welcome us. So, we were at home, or so we thought. We had asked that our quarters be cleaned around mid-morning. By 15:30 no one had come to clean our rooms. By the time the cleaning lady (yes, the same person that gave us a sour welcome) came to clean the rooms she and her partner just walked in - no knocking, no greetings to acknowledge us, no nothing. After checking with my travelling crew that did I see what I just saw? I went to her and in a firm and polite way told her that we do not do that in Africa. We are people. The following days she came right. Thus denying her place a perfect 10. Okay, the single ply (although good quality) toilet paper is a turn-off for me. That is why I give Oyster Kaya At Oyster Bay a score of 8 out of 10.…
Annalie and myself enjoyed the break in this secluded gem. It was our first visit to Oyster Bay and we love the place. Oyster Kaya is a well equipped self catering unit where one can relax and enjoy the beautiful views. Thank you Bokkie and Lindy
It was a happy accident that brought us to Oyster Kaya and how pleased we were. The owner and staff could not have been more obliging and friendly (even loaning us their three dogs to take to the nearby beach!) The accommodation was first class, in terms of space, comfort, equipment and cleanliness. If you are looking for vibrant night life and haute cuisine dining on your doorstep, this is not for you. However, if you want tranquility with a stunning view of the sea, endless walks on a near deserted beach, then this is the place for you!
