My sister and I spent 3 fabulous weeks with Selvin and Blanca. What a place! It was the most amazing vacation experience I've ever had. Andrea and Mau (sp?), who manage reservations and reception, responded to ever need and request we had both pre-arrival and during our entire stay. They are the most gracious, accommodating and wonderful people. Selvin, Blanca, family and staff work tirelessly to ensure all their guests are comfortable and happy with their accommodations. The restaurant serves delicious, authentic Caribbean fare, Selvin's Rondon being the most famous and popular dish. I will never forget my experience and highly recommend to anyone looking for a completely relaxing and simple life-style away from the pressures and stresses back home.

Absolutely amazing! Staying here was the best part of our entire Costa Rica trip! The design of the cabinas places you right in the jungle amongst gorgeous flowers, trees and tropical birds while the rooms are spacious, clean and well-equipped. Selvin y Blanca's cabinas are just a 2 minute walk from a beautiful and uncrowded beach that you can spend hours exploring, while also right along the main road and easily accessible. There is an excellent restaurant on the premises with the best Rondon on the coast! If you love peace and nature you should stay with Selvin y Blanca and support this amazing Costa Rican owned establishment.

My wife and I stayed in one of the cabinas recently. We had a hard time deciding in where to go since we were going there with our dogs. When we called, Andrea was great and due to her customer care, we decided to go there. It was perfect for our dogs and the whole staff was super friendly and welcoming. If you want to get out of PV a bit but close enough to enjoy the town, this place is great. I will certainly go back there!

We stayed three nights here and ate three times at the restaurant. It is a very laid back place. It is only a minute from a beautiful beach. We would stay here again without a second thought. Get a bike (we rented from the store down the street for 5$ per day) and everything you could want to do is nearby. Everyone at Selvin's was super friendly.

We stayed for 4 nights at Selvin’s, had a fantastic dinner and daily beach walks....the wildlife living at the site was remarkable, howler monkeys getting everyone up at dawn, iguanas in the trees, agoutis, birds everywhere, blue morphs and amazing flowers and greenery. Selvin, Marco and Andrea were amazing hosts and helped us with comfortable accommodations and tour suggestions. Walk down the beach to the south and have breakfast or cocktails and dinner with Sandra and Bruno at Eden Cafe! We will return!

Blanca and Selvin's is a wonderful place to stay, if you don't require plush creature comforts. This is the real Costa Rica with all aspects: We were in a detached mini-house with a bed room and bathroom, including hot shower and a separated kitchen (stove, toaster, fridge and basics. There is a large covered veranda protecting you from rain and sun facing jungle vegetation, with two hammocks and a large dining room table and chairs,; so you can watch the monkeys (many howlers), toucans, iguanas, other birds, butterflies. flowers, agouties (large, cute local animals), It is clean and comfortable with all functional needs provided for. There are other individual cabinas, as well as some connected units and rooms that are charming, with a fridge and coffee maker. Specify the type of accommodations you want and Andrea will work with you. She is very helpful and accommodating. Be persistent and specific to help the staff help you. The beach is a short (4-5 minute) walk down the gravel road (you can hear the waves at night). The beach(Punta Uva) is quiet and laid-back populated by a mix of local people and tourists. No hassles, or loud music. There are a few small craft stalls at one point of the beach, one with items made by indigenous people (Briibri). There is a restaurant connected to the cabinas/rooms run by the same owners. Selvin, Blanca and their son, Marko, which serves the best food in the area; they are warm and hospitable. Selvin is a font of knowledge so you missing a major part of the charm and value if you don't take the opportunity to sit and shoot the breeze with him and pick his brain, chat to learn volumes about "where you are." This location is perfect: on a quiet road, but close to the busy town of Puerto Viejo, the Jaguar Center, Ara Project releasing Macaws and (a little further north near Cahuita, which has a wonderful national park) the Sloth Sanctuary. Going south is Manzanillo and the Gandoca National Refuge. (contact Abel Bustamante or Florentino for a great tour.) There are also other decent restaurants up and down the road from 1 to 4 km away. This place is perfect for couples, families, friends, solo. The wifi is a bit unreliable/sparse.

Selvin's is a very rustic property. You'll really experience the boho beach life at these cabinas. The staff is very friendly, especially Andrea. She's the best. The restaurant onsite has delicious food. Try everything! Location is right on the beach, just a short walk. While the property is very rustic, it's also clean. I slept well here, but you might want to bring ear plugs as to not be awoken by the Howler Monkey's and the local Rooster.

We went to the restaurant and the waiter didn't have knowledge about what they prepare and how they prepare it, probably he was new or something. we asked for the brownies with ice cream and coffee. and took around 40 minutes to finish our order.

Really liked this place, it's not a fancy place but if you are looking to relax it's just perfect! The place is really close to the different beaches on the area you can just rent a bike and ride it to puerto viejo, punta uva or Manzanillo. Another great advantage is the restaurant that offers delicious food. The receptionist Andrea is super nice and helpful, she gave us all the information we needed. We will definitely go again.!!

This place was a wonderful getaway from spending too much time in SJ. The owners son, who seems to be running the operation, was quite accommodating when it came to an issue we had with the water being turned off without notice. I would recommend this to young couples especially, because the noise levels can be a hit or miss. The cuisine was excellent however slightly overpriced for the offerings.
