Before the revolution in 1975' , my family with me as a baby visited this lodge since 1965. This is ideal family lodge. It has the correct balance between modern and the rustic Mozambique. You have not visited Mozambique if you did not stay over here. Recommend you visit in off season to really enjoy it.

We needed a little get away from all the visitors and stumbled across this resort by accident. We were lucky enough to get a beach facing chalet, but they have a lot of options. It is quite remote so you need to take everything, food and drink wise with you if you are self catering, otherwise there is a lovely restaurant on sit where I had the most amazing crayfish and great wine! There is nothing to do there but literally to relax, enjoy the view, walk the fabulous beach, and if you want to join civilization, arrange to go to Inhambane or on the famous Manta reef dive, which is only 3 km from this resort. Recommend if you need so me time. Hosts were very accommodating and the main bedroom was air conditioned, which was a bonus in the heat! Lounge and dining area small, but who wants to be inside when the weather and views were so lovely?

The place is right at the beach, with good access to the beach and amazing views. Spent several days with Friends. The place we stayed are houses in the beach. They are a bit run-down but very practical. Essentials are there, including a fridge, freezer and hot water in the shower. The rest, you just want to be in the beach, right?

Coconut Bay has to be one of the most beautiful unspoilt bays in Mozambique but the accommodation need serious attention. There is so much potential in these chalets but they need a face lift. Especially the kitchen and bathrooms.

We stayed in Paindane and was passing on the Barra road and popped in for a quick beer. Three hours later we had one of the cheapest and best authentic local lunches in Moz. The full coconut chicken was fantastic on it's own but even better with the peri-peri sauce on the side. Be prepared to wait when it is busy (visited on New Years day) but worth the wait.

i have traveled Mozambique top to bottom east to west in the past 20 years. i call myself an expert. this is the best family resort. no drunk noisy rude fisherman around. this place is self catering and has a restaurant too. it has all what you will need for a holiday. clean bed. good shower. aircon. well equipped kitchen. best location in moz. what makes it unique is the fact of the balance it maintains. its not commercialized it has all you need but it still maintain the rustic isolated feel that makes Mozambique an awesome holiday spot.
