Detailed Reviews
This must surely be the best campsite in the whole of Namibia... The sites are well thought through and the private ablutions are spotless and practical. The pool is an absolute pleasure in the heat and the shop is stocked well. Upstairs they manufacture the most beautiful 'vellies'! Location-wise it is very handy to Okaukuejo-gate.

Our experience was a little different than what we've read in other people's reviews, but it was still great.
We shared facilities (showers, bathroom) with one other campsite, perhaps because we made the reservation online and picked the cheaper alternative? Still, it was clean and convenient, and we had lots of privacy. The first night we were the only ones there.
We asked about the waterhole with animals that other people have mentioned, but we were told there's no waterhole. We did hear a lion moan all through the night, but the people at the gas station/reception said it comes from a private reserve next doors. Maybe we just asked the wrong people?
This campsite really is just minutes from the Anderson gate, and it's excellent value. The reception is at the gas station and they also have a convenience store with basic foods and toiletries.
Highly recomended.

Dear Kristi, Thank you for the recommendation and excellent ratings! You chose the Group Campsites where we have shared ablution facilities. Glad you enjoyed our location and the convenience store on site. The waterhole is on the side where the campsites with private facilities are situated and they are correct that the lion is at the private reserve next to us. We look forward to welcome you back during your next visit to Etosha! Best wishes, The Etosha Trading Post Team

This campsite is a great find. It's only about 6 kilometres from Andersson Gate to Etosha, which is really convenient if you want to get into the Park early. The campsites are built from reclaimed materials and are really attractive and well planned. Each campsite has a loo, a shower and an indoor room with a basin as well as an outdoor sink. There is a view over a waterhole which was apparently visited by an elephant when we were away. There's a useful shop and fuel station right there. We really liked it and will certainly use it again.

The best campsite I have ever been to. In addition to the electricity connection and the sink, it has a toilet and shower in the parking space. There is a very nice pool. Exceptional staff. The visits to Etosha that they offer from the campsite are totally recommended. The guide we had was excellent. Thanks Gerard.

After arrival at Windhoek and picking up our roof-top camper we went north. Etosha Trading Post Campsite could be reached without too much efforts, and it was a very good choice. We liked the campsite, the ablution block, the surroundings, the shop and the burgers from the restaurant and of course the staff. Unfortunately we could not use the pool. Part of the site is an illuminated waterhole.
Next time we would buy the necessairy groceries etc at Ethosha Trading post instead of loosing time in a shopping center.
Compared with Halali Campsite Etosha Trading Post is definitely an excellent alternative.

This campsite has been recently refurbished with a new main building with a shop and where you do the check-in.
The facilities are fairly recent, I think all campsites have their own structure with toilet, shower and wash basin. We had number 6 next to a water hole that was illuminated during the night.
The pool with lawn is brand new and is bigger than it looks on the pictures. Nice refreshing temperature as all pools are n Namibia, even with 36 degrees air temperature.

We were there for one night and would have liked to stay longer. An absolutely worthwhile alternative to the park camps. There is a large, beautiful pool. The campsites are designed with attention to detail. There is enough electricity at the sites and also various socket options. You can buy delicious bread in the shop.
It is nice to watch the animals at the waterhole over dinner and to be able to see the sunrise there in the morning.
Everything is very well maintained, clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.
Absolutely recommended. Skip the NWR camps and stay at the Trading Post. The price-performance ratio is great, one of the best campsites on our 24-day Namibia trip.

Compared to the campsites in Etosha this place was sparkling clean and we had the pool almost to ourselves. Which was very nice since it was already very hot during the time we visited. It’s not a very personal atmosphere there but everything works easy from checking in, having the gas station right there and a shop. The only thing that would have made it even better would have been chairs or lawn chairs at the pool since there were already umbrellas.
From our side we could watch Dikdiks outside the fence during dinner ☺️

This campsite offers a fantastic location, just a short drive from the Etosha National Park gate, making it super convenient for early morning or late afternoon game drives. The refreshing pool is a real highlight, perfect for cooling off after a day of exploring under the Namibian sun.
The decor is eclectic and adds character to the place, creating a quirky and welcoming atmosphere. Every corner has its own charm, giving the campsite a unique vibe that stands out from other spots in the area.
However, if you’re staying at camp 1, be aware of the road noise, which can be a bit of a downside, especially at night. To fully enjoy the tranquility, it’s worth requesting a campsite further into the resort, where the noise fades and the peaceful surroundings take over.
Overall, this is a great spot for its prime location and relaxing pool, but for a quieter stay, make sure to choose a site away from the road.
