The chalets around the main building are newly built and spacious, well-equipped with a very good shower. The bathroom is separated from the rest of the room by a wall 180cm high and a curtain instead of a door.
From our window, we saw oryx and zebra about 30 meters away from us.
The staff were very friendly and the meals were good, also for vegetarians. The staff also did a singing performance after dinner.
Several drives are offered but we didn’t take them.
The location is 45 min drive from the Sossusvlei gate, but from the gate still a 50 km drive remains to the 2WD parking near Deadvlei.

We had two double chalets. They are clean, beautifully built and have everything you need. Showers heated by wood burner boilers - and are powerful too. Views are fantastic out over the bush.
Excellent management by Timo and Paul. Staff are friendly. Vegan diet well catered for. Brunch bags instead of breakfast to allow early start needed for Sesriem. These were great and very tasty. Timo’s caracal “pet” was a joy to see. Best accommodation / welcome so far in Namibia. And one happy vegan!

Nicky and her staff are great. Food was very good and the lunch pack also. The main building, garden en swimming pool very well maintained.
The little houses are cute with a nice bedroom and very comfortable bed. Beautiful views on the mountains and plains.
Only 30km from Sossus vlei.

Nicky upgraded us from a family room to 2 double rooms which was very kind and much appreciated.

Caracal Sky is a nice ‘pet animal’ who lives at the lodge and was adored by my son.

Stay at this place, you won’t regret it!

The positive: the cottages are very nice with good beds and excellent views (which may include zebra and oryx if you’re lucky). Good shower also. The location is good for Sossusvlei.
The negative: the reception upon arrival was rather unpleasant. No words of welcome, no one asking whether we had a good trip (which would be logical given that getting there means driving for hours over gravel roads); we were greeted with “Fill out that form!”. Also, no one showed us to our room, we were simply pointed to the furthest cottage in the distance.
Lastly, the meals were no more than okay, and cannot compare to what was offered in other lodges before and after. And when we asked for a vegetarian meal, the vegetable side had bacon in it. We are not actually vegetarians, so we didn’t really mind, but it’s not okay nevertheless.
To end on a positive note: the owner/manager reacted swiftly and efficiently when we informed him that a couple with young kids had been stranded by the side of the road at dusk, and needed help.

Great place!!
Nice and calm with super friendly staff! We enjoyed our two night stay incredibly. Dinner was super good!
They gave us a large lunchpaket while we went to Sossusvlei.
It's only a 30 min drive to the gate.

Nicky upgraded us to double rooms instead of a 4 bed room. Very kind.
The rooms are huge. Hot water are made the old way.

Only goods to say.

Thank you!

Located 33 km from Sesriem and 34 km away from the Sossusvlei office (about 40 minutes) this very nice and welcoming lodge, although not very close to the entrance of Sossusvlei, is still very convenient for reaching the park entrance. Very friendly and attentive staff, very good dinner. They also have a very well-stocked bar available. On the day of the visit to the dunes, if you ask, they will prepare a box lunch for you to take away. In the afternoon, for those who want, it is possible to have a snack with tea/coffee and cake.
The chalets are very spacious, separated from each other which fully guarantees privacy and with parking next to the entrance door. From the patio in front of each individual chalet you can observe the oryxes that come close to the properties also attracted by a small artificial pool, or you can enjoy the spectacle of the starry sky. Unfortunately Sky, the domestic caracal whose stories we read about, they say went away and never returned
