I cannot speak highly enough of my dive experience at the Meridian Adventure Resort. The dive managers and staff were among the most professional I have ever been diving with, and the logistics of the daily dive trips were planned to a T. They created an atmosphere of a group of dive buddies out for the day on every trip. I very much felt like family by the end of the trip! The purpose of my trip was for underwater photography, and the crew took impeccable care of my gear. I had specific photography subjects in mind for the trip (wobbegong shark, pygmy seahorse, peacock mantis shrimp, cuttlefish, etc.) and they made it happen on each and every dive. They all went above and beyond to make sure I had the photo opportunities I was looking for. Special shoutouts to the crew that made me feel so at home here! Thank you to Duan and Joane for coordinating the best dive trip of my life! Simpson, Yigit and Abner for seeking out all the marine life I had been looking forward to seeing for over a year. Instructor Ross for being my dive buddy, and Dive Masters Carly, Alice, Margeaux and Louie for leading each dive and maximizing the biodiversity of marine life we all got to experience. See you all again soon!…

We spent 1 wonderful week at Meridian adventure dive resort! The perfect balance between eco-friendly but also very modern hotel! The dives were amazing! The dive masters and crew are very friendly and super pro! Boats are high speed, new and comfortable. Mind blowing dives at Melissa's garden (with bonus Pianemo view point hike) and other incredible diving spots (giant turtles, wobbiegong sharks, manta rays, napoleon but also planewreck and night dive). The hotel room is small as per description but comfortable and quiet for a good night rest after diving. Internet is ok during the day but super slow from 6pm. The service is really top and welcoming (reception, booking, cleaning). For the transfer from Sorong, if you have a long waiting time between your flight and the speed boat (only 2 departures a day), they'll bring you to the Swiss Belhotel for resting in a nice environment (and have lunch if you want). This was super appreciated! Nice swimming pool, activities options and chill out areas (with cute cats ;-) The food is pretty good but very expensive (not to mention drinks!) and with little options especially healthy ones but I guess it's difficult to bring food on the Island. Breakfast is great and the restaurant/bar staff is very friendly and attentive. Tips: by booking with Zublu diving agency, you have a super promotion of 1 night/2 dives for free for a week package (and the agency service is amazing too). Thanks to all the Meridian team (Jo, Dewan, Yigit, Simpson, Cahide, Arkan....) for this amazing diving holiday! Highly highly highly recommended! …

My partner and I chose this place and resort for our open water diver certification and of course later diving as well. Jo was really nice and clear with all the instructions while doing the course. Since we stayed in a homestay, they picked us up for every dive, which made the experience very carefree. The boat and the gear were in great shape, maintained and clean. The dive sites were just amazing and location for surface intervals beautiful with complimentary tea or coffee. In the end you also receive all the footage from your dives. All in all Meridian took very nice care of us, very easygoing and flexible.

I stayed at Meridien for a short 5D/4N, but was determined to pack in as many dives as possible. The dive guides and staff made it happen. The resort schedules up to 4 dives a day, which is made possible by their modern speed boats. Dive guides Jo, Simpson, and Duan were experienced, safety-minded, and still obviously in awe of the majesty of Raja Ampat. The equipment was new, and when not brand new, it was well cared for. The dive guides were assisted by dive master interns Carly, Alice, Margot, and Luis, whose enthusiasm and energy brought a great spirit to each of the dives. My only suggestion would be to incorporate more local guides into Meridien's diving. The knowledge that local divers have of their home dive sites can be unparalleled - as Simpson demonstrated on the few dives I was lucky to join. As for the resort, it was exactly what I wanted. A small, but clean and air-conditioned room with a comfortable bed. I did not spend any time in the room other than showering and sleeping. The chef and kitchen staff are EXTRAORDINARY. I cannot commend the food enough - it was out-of-this-world delicious. The food is more expensive than typical in Indonesia, but well-worth it. The resort could not serve alcohol while I was there because of local regulators on-site, but that appeared to be a one-time thing. The staff was also very helpful in recommending local restaurants. Thank you for the memorable stay in Raja Ampat! …

I had an amazing experience at Meridian Dive Resort. The staff was super friendly and welcoming and the accommodations were comfortable, and clean, and came with modern appliances and great air conditioning, which was a nice treat after a long day in the sun. I enjoyed the communal dining/lounge area and the food and fresh fruit juices were great. Duan was our guide and his knowledge and navigational abilities of the reef system and dive spots made the trip the most memorable diving experience I've ever been on. I felt safe and had so much fun under his watch in the warm waters of Raja Ampat's many pristine marine sanctuaries.

Everything was perfect since my arrival till departure. Dives were exceptional with very well adjusted kit and professional assistance that let you enjoy discovering all the aquatic creatures you can imagine. We visited incredible dive sites and beautiful spots between the dives exploring Raja Ampat to the fullest. The resort itself is super clean, with all the facilities and services needed. All the people from staff are very polite and helpful. Also the owner and dive team are doing their best to make sure every guest leaves happy (with unquestionable success). Absolutely recommend

Meridian Adventure Dive has been the best diving experience I’ve ever had. To make a truly exceptional operation, you need to have top shelf equipment and 5 star staff, MAD has both and more! So read on. The diving is world class, a typical day starts after a delicious 3 course cooked breakfast on the restaurant terrace followed by a 1min walk to the dock. A quick team photo and then the expertly driven high speed boat takes you directly to the best dive sites the world has to offer. After a concise brief you drop into a kaleidoscope alternate reality teaming with brightly coloured fish and pristine coral. The Dive Master interns do an excellent job of leading the dives and cater to all levels of experience. Local legend Adnan the “dive god” accompanies the party to seek out and showcase all manner of rare and exotic marine life for your camera snaps. Special appearances included sea horse, nudibranch, peacock mantis shrimp and the star of the show, the Wobigong shark. 50 Bar or 50mins, which ever comes first means it’s time to surface. Upon stepping foot back on the boat, refreshing chilled water and juicy melon is served before making waves towards the surface interval location for a spot of tea or coffee and sharing stories from the dive. The SI is usually 45 mins on a beautiful and remote tropical island or small beach village, each with an interesting back story and wildlife. Another short blast on the boat and it’s time for dive 2. Upon returning back to base, usually around 10-11am, time for a hot shower in the immaculate AC cooled hotel bedrooms and then down for lunch. If you’re adventurous enough, the dive team meets at 1:30pm for the afternoon excursion, dives 3 and 4. Always at different and equally exotic locations. If 2 dives per day is enough for you then exploring the island of Waisai by renting a scooter from the delightful reception team is both convenient and fairly priced. Highly recommend riding through the rainforest covered hills to reach the blue river for an afternoon of swimming and jumping into the Evian clear water. Info and locations all provided by the hotel reception team. If you have your own equipment, the MAD team will setup, dissemble and clean everything for you everyday. If you don’t have your own gear or prefer to travel light, the MAD gear is top shelf “spared no expense” type of equipment. Brand new AquaLung wetsuits, atomic aquatics Masks, AquaLung Mikron regs and Zuma BCDs will have you feeling like a scuba.diver magazine model. For those with non diving partners, don’t hesitate to travel together. Non-diving Partners are welcome on the boat for island hopping and snorkelling while you’re down. Surface intervals can be at spectacular sites such as Piyanemo Geosite, the famous Passage and Saundarek Village, AKA heaven on earth. So bring your selfie stick! Operations Manager and all round top class bloke Duan, keeps this adventure project full steam ahead. Anything and everything you need both in and out of the water, Duan sorts it in a heartbeat. This exceptional experience is only made possible by both the excellent MAD team and the hospitality of the local people. If you’re thinking of diving in Raja Ampat, this is the operation to go with. Things to note: .At the time of writing, MAD only dives with Air. Due to the way they fill the cylinders, no nitrox is available. .Restaurant food can be on the pricey side, however Local restaurant Pondok, delivers delicious Indonesian food, however, would recommend a visit with the dive team for the Salted Makrel Nasi Goreng and drinks after a 4 dive day. .Transferring from Sorong airport to the port to catch the ferry to waisai can be hectic. Highly recommend to pay for the Meridian VIP transfer. The local agent in Sorong is very professional, will take you to a cafe while he buys the tickets and sorts out porters for your luggage. Seem-less transition there and back. Thanks again MAD for a truly exceptional experience! I hope our paths cross again in future! Makasi!…

After a week roughing it at Tabari Dive homestay out in the Dampier Channel on Pulau Merpati, we needed some creature comforts like air con and wifi. Also, cold water and unlimited ice are important to us here just 1 degree from the equator. Service is exceptional and comfort level is European standard but with topsheets and free drinking water (non existant in Europe, but I digress). Drawbacks are the small rooms and no view. Limited menu at restaurant could use expansion and revision but most items are top notch. Fresh baked bread is a real pleasure not common in these parts. NOT Indonesian roti, more like French baguette. The dive center is certainly the most professional anywhere in this region with possible exception of Misool Eco Resort. Best dive boats, custom made with a innovative berthing system allowing refueling and refilling of tanks on the fleet of 5 boats, I've ever seen or had the pleasure to use, and I've been diving all over the World since 1989. Staff is superbly trained with state of the art dive gear and complete dedication to safety. This is often not the case in Indonesia. If you are the type of diver that prioritizes safety, dive with nobody else including the more costly liveaboard options. Special shout out for Jo the director of the diving center and Tommy the boat captain par excellence and the overseer of everything technical. This pair of Capetonians set the Gold standard so thoroughly they should mint a Krugerand with their smiling faces on it. …

Great dive centre for use as base to venture out in Raja Ampat. Although we only snorkelled the location was great for what we needed as first timers in RA. Staff fantastic, accommodation and food fine for what we needed. Highly recommended.

This is a very upscale dive resort. The hardscape is superb: the buildings, the landscaping and the pool are first rate. The rooms and bathrooms are also very good but are very, very small. The restaurant is very good but the menu (identical for lunch and dinner) has a limited selection of items. There are restaurants in Waisai but its a long walk or a cab ride. The dive operation is very good with a fleet of excellent dive boats. where there was no expense wanting. To us, the location of the resort is a bit odd. It may have been chosen for the boat moorage space. There is no beach. The resort seems to turn its back on the water except for boat access. There is a town, but it's a hike to get to. That said, a good experience.
