At Meridian Adventure Marina Club & Resort, guests have called out the hotel's outstanding dive amenities and the professionalism of the staff, which together with the well-maintained boats, make for exceptional aquatic experiences. While the cleanliness of the property receives consistent praise, including the upkeep of rooms and dive gear, some travelers note that room sizes are on the smaller side with limited storage, particularly for diving enthusiasts.
Opinions on value are mixed, with accolades for the cost-effectiveness of dive guide services but some concerns over high-priced food and comfort issues.

Diving is the only reason to come here. The speedboats that take you diving every morning are modern and very fast, everything is perfectly organized. We were a group of 24 with 12 people per boat with 3 guides (once only 2 guides). This number of people was actually too large for the diving spots and it would have been better to have 3 boats with 8 divers each. Unfortunately no Nitrox. The diving spots themselves were fantastic, the briefing by Duan, whose focus underwater was often his camera, was very brief. I would particularly like to praise the local diving guides, who showed us a lot underwater and were very nice and friendly. The rooms are modern and clean but unfortunately much too small. There is just enough space around the bed to put your bag down because there is no other space in the room. There is hardly any storage space, no cupboard and only a tiny shelving system for clothes. One couple in our group was given a moldy room, but understandably turned it down. They got another one straight away. The air conditioning in our room was broken, after the staff tried unsuccessfully to repair it, we were able to move to the next room on the evening of our arrival.
The room service should have noticed both of these things.
The staff were very friendly and courteous overall.
The water dispenser in the hallway is very nice, where you can get cool drinking water at any time.
The restaurant in the hotel is nice, the staff are helpful but slow.
The quality of the food is average.
The breakfast is minimalist, both in terms of selection and portions (fruit and yogurt are served in tiny bowls).
If you want eggs for breakfast, you need patience.
Unfortunately there is no beach, just a small but nice pool with a few loungers next to it.
The sunset terrace can be reached via a footbridge over the mangroves, and you can see that the tropical climate is already taking its toll on it. There are 3 beanbags and two wooden benches to sit on, but they could do a bit more here.

Our stay at Meridian Resorts was truly unforgettable! Located in the remote paradise of Raja Ampat, this dive resort gave us an incredible experience despite the limited amenities typical for the area.
Diving: The diving in Raja Ampat is what dreams are made of, and the team at Meridian goes above and beyond to ensure you experience it fully. Their setup is run like clockwork, with professional, knowledgeable, and super-friendly instructors who make every dive smooth and enjoyable. The equipment was in perfect condition, and their boats are the best on the island. We did 8 dives in 4 days, and each one left us amazed. Diving here was absolutely the highlight of our trip.
Accommodation: Rooms were clean and comfortable, with everything we needed to relax after a day in the water. I loved the water coolers around the property; it’s great they focus on reducing plastic waste. The rooms were on the smaller side, but they were more than enough for a dive resort.
Dining: There’s a restaurant on-site with good food. While the vegetarian options were limited, the team was happy to customize dishes for us, which made a big difference.
Facilities & Service: Beyond the diving, the people at Meridian made our stay exceptional. From the front desk to the restaurant staff to the dive instructors, everyone was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and ready to help. The staff organized our transfers from Sorong to Waisai and back, making the entire journey smooth and stress-free. They also helped us rent a scooter to explore the town nearby, which added a nice touch of adventure to our trip.
Location & Ambience: The resort is close to the port, and it’s easy to get around. We took advantage of the scooter rental and loved exploring the nearby areas.
If you’re a diver looking for an amazing experience in Raja Ampat, Meridian Resorts is the place to be. The diving and the team made this trip an absolute dream! Highly recommended.

A lot to digest? Read an AI-generated summary of recent traveller reviews.
We were there for a week of diving. The place is probably the best on main Wasai island. They have a very good restaurant (a bit expensive compared to places outside). Food costs avg 200k IDR per meal here vs 50-80k IDR in town at places like Pondok. But you’ll also spend on transport so only makes sense to go if you are a small group. They also have the best, fast boats around which saves a lot of time and is comfortable.
The staff and hospitality are great. There was an issue with the boat on one of the days and they promptly sent another one. The rooms as many have said are small and gets a bit smelly from the bathroom due to the humidity outside/ wet clothes from diving. Please fix that somehow by adding room fresheners and good ventilation in the bathroom.
Coming to diving, it’s THE BEST we’ve ever done! Fantastic dive sites all over Raja Ampat and if you request for certain sites, they’ll plan and take you there too. The dive masters Ronja and Josephine were friendly, helpful and fun. Instructor Pinar was super all the time and Abner was an amazing local guide! Do goto Melissa’s garden, mayhem, citrus with them more than others.
The night dive I think could be at a better site or maybe add backwater / flouro dive as options as it would be unique and amazing at sites here. I also suggest a trip to Wayag if you have the time. Amazing place!
Last suggestion to management - I heard a few snorkelers complain a bit. Maybe set expectations with them upfront next time on what they can/cannot see and why etc. It’s amazing for divers but snorkelers need to know they won’t have the same Experience as divers.

Hello, we came for our honeymoon and we were a little wrong, the truth is that the island of Waisai does not have any tourism and that is why we opted for this hotel, but something happens with the human part, it is difficult to find a smile and a helpful attitude , the hotel is small with approximately 15 rooms that are quite narrow, it is not enough to leave the suitcase open on the floor, the bathroom is only for one person at a time, there is no Netflix or Netflix TV, the quality of the materials is fine. . The restaurant is good with a variety of food and served by friendly local people, as a reference a small beer costs US 12. The dives as a reference have a value of US 200 for doubles, the equipment and boats are top quality, the instructors are very young people and need a little more experience for the level of public they serve and because it is Rajam Ampat, we met an instructor named Ross who could not guide us because he was with other clients at that time, he was the only one who stood out and was very professional when delivering the equipment to us. In summary, the hotel has good facilities and equipment, but the owners must worry about the human side, good trip to you 🤗

This tiny resort has an identity crisis. A bit of a 'fire festival' situation where the hype is huge but the reality disappoints. Rooms are tiny and missing normal amenities like hand soap and facial tissue. The a/c cannot be adjusted without a ladder. Bedding is comfortable though. Otherwise it is getting a bit shabby for the price they charge. No ocean views. Often reception was un-staffed. Restaurant was pricey (not an all-inclusive despite price) and service slow. Some good food though. Beef rendang was yum! Diving is always great in Raja Ampat, but guiding was mixed. Some great guides/spotters, others not so much. The boats are super fancy (resort cost probably is paying those off) but excessive. A great guide is more important (Simsan and Apnan were great). Camera tables in reception area are convenient but under-powered if you need to charge batteries etc. Shoes off policy is a nice idea but inconvenient. Marketing is nonstop- you have to watch videos in restaurant, and merch lacks interest (no dive images) and is one big ad. The place was very empty and I think the above (especially price) explains why. They could turn this around to be less sterile, more welcoming, and more functional.

I cannot speak highly enough of my dive experience at the Meridian Adventure Resort. The dive managers and staff were among the most professional I have ever been diving with, and the logistics of the daily dive trips were planned to a T. They created an atmosphere of a group of dive buddies out for the day on every trip. I very much felt like family by the end of the trip! The purpose of my trip was for underwater photography, and the crew took impeccable care of my gear. I had specific photography subjects in mind for the trip (wobbegong shark, pygmy seahorse, peacock mantis shrimp, cuttlefish, etc.) and they made it happen on each and every dive. They all went above and beyond to make sure I had the photo opportunities I was looking for. Special shoutouts to the crew that made me feel so at home here! Thank you to Duan and Joane for coordinating the best dive trip of my life! Simpson, Yigit and Abner for seeking out all the marine life I had been looking forward to seeing for over a year. Instructor Ross for being my dive buddy, and Dive Masters Carly, Alice, Margeaux and Louie for leading each dive and maximizing the biodiversity of marine life we all got to experience. See you all again soon!

Overall a great experience!! The logicistics and operations at Meridian Adventure Dive Rssort made the vacation so easy and relaxing. We felt like royalty from the dive crew setting up our dive gear for us, changing over tanks during surface interval to cleaning our gear at the end of our trip. I really loved when they took us to different islands in Raja Ampat during our service interval/ lunch breaks. The hotel overall is very clean and safe!! Very peaceful and stress-free.

We had an amazing time diving with the Meridian team. The resort's dive boats are impressive and impeccably maintained. The dive schedule covered all the top sites and the team occasionally let us pick our own sites, which was an added bonus. The service on the boats and during surface intervals was also great, the crew does all of your gear handling and there's always drinks and snacks available. We especially enjoyed diving with both Wesley and Yigit, who were friendly and enthusiastic, great at spotting cool macro and went above and beyond to make sure we were having fun in and out of the water.
The resort itself is also clean and comfortable and the food was good, albeit expensive. We especially appreciated the aircon, reliable wifi and fresh water showers, a luxury in Raja Ampat.
Thank you to the whole Meridian team, we can't wait to come back!

I was told live a boards were the only way to see Raja Ampat. I was completely wrong! These guys got everywhere! First class diving and staff! Friendly and reasonable. I never touched my dive gear from the moment I arrived as it was all clean and on the boat every day. The dive guides knew the sites and where the same places the live a boards were at, and quite a bit less $$
Food was good and staff were kind. This is definitely a place for divers! The boats are only a few years old and very easy to dive from.
The only place I have seen Dragon Wrass’s in the wild as well as large bump head wrasses and huge napoleon wrasses. Mantas were a plenty and wobygone sharks everywhere. A few black tip and white tips.
The health of all the reefs were astounding compared to everywhere else in Asia. More fish life then soft corals, but still an abundant amount of corals.
We were just in Manado last year and I would come back here in a heartbeat over Manado.

No coffee facilities in the rooms. Although coffee is available at the restaurant. Bring thermos cups with you. We got fresh coffee and tea to take on dives with us. They do supply on the dives but it’s dry roast coffee. Shops are not as they are in the West snd due to high temps and humidity you will find it hard to buy and keep milk fresh. Coffee around the area costs between 10k IDR and 30K IDR. Around 1 British pound.
