We had a wonderful warm welcome when we arrived on our bikes cold, tired and dirty. The owners were very apologetic for not being able to offer their usual standard of service and welcome due to Covid restrictions but we felt very welcome, safe and well cared for. Three of us stayed in Bee Cottage (I think). It was SO cosy and exactly what we needed. It was immaculate, spacious and we were soon fighting over the well stocked tray of teas and coffees where the mini Mars bars made our day. Although they're not able to offer their normal 3 course evening meal option, we were able to pre-order a main course - they even had an excellent selection of veggie food which is very unusual. We were also able to order some beer and wine which was the icing on the cake. We were touched at the lengths that they went to to ensure that we felt Covid safe. They had a very well thought out system and stuck to it without losing any of their warmth. I would recommend it without any hesitation.

We booked the two bedroom apartment as we are a family of four travelling with our dog. Bee Cottage allows dogs to stay in the separate apartments, which was exactly what we needed. The apartment was superbly comfortable with a double room and a twin room, as well as an open plan living, dining area. The shower was fantastic - just what was needed at the end of a day of challenging ride from the Penrith area. Dave serves up delicious meals, with Irene being just brilliant at remembering and using everyone’s names - a lovely personal touch. The views out from the dining room are stunning and it is so peaceful with very little light pollution so on a clear night you can be stunned by the incredible number of stars in space. Bee Cottage was a wonderful place to stay and comes highly recommended.

What a delight. You’re 70% certain to have a unique and memorable stay. It’s very laid back, with a chatty enigmatic hostess with some incredible stories that had us all howling with laughter. We were late to arrive, but they went out of their way to accommodate.

Lovely location and ideal for C2C but not recommended on any other basis. The food was adequate, the room reasonable ( shower wasn't great) but the 'can't do'attitude of our host was wearing. On the plus side or bikes were safely stored in the garage

I believe this "review" to be totally unfair, in fact spiteful. These guests appeared to take exception to being politely asked not to drink their cans of lager in the sitting room. We are a licensed premises and do not allow guests to bring their own food or drink into the rooms, sitting rooms or dining rooms. A "can't do attitude" is a ludicrous thing to say. We dry cyclists clothes as a courtesy in bad weather but these guests presented us with a huge pile of wet, muddy clothes. Much more than they could have worn that day. All were dried, including shoes, and given to them in the morning. I would say that is CAN DO!

Great all round breakfast evening meals, drinks all ok. When we went we had snow on the road to the cottage we got stuck. Dave the owner of the cottage was behind us and toed us up and when we went out he would drop us off at the end of the road so my daughter can pick us up and take us out when we was ready to come back just phone he was there. Brilliant.Shall go there again.
