Very convenient to Great America, Nice, quiet hotel....Great America was just around the corner. The hotel is right off the main drag, which made it convenient to everything. I will definitely be staying here again next time I go to Great America.

Picture Super 8....like older Super 8. That is what you will be getting with this hotel so make sure you do not overpay like I did. I love La Quinta's and will go out of my way to stay at them but this one is definitely subpar. Several issues. First the place is run down and in a very sketchy area with a lot of abandon buildings and trash everywhere and people just "hanging out". Not necessarily the hote'ls fault but it does seem to fit with the overall feeling in and around it. Apparently they are doing remodeling so some rooms are a little nice than others. I was in a nicer one...saw my friends room....yuck. The breakfast buffet was closed due to remodeling which of course they did not mention when you called for the reservation; though they did offer a "bag" breakfast which actually was generous with its contents. Unfortuantely if you didn't go look for the "bags" you wouldn't know they were there. They also quoted us (the hotel- we made reservations directly) the price for a room on a weeknight without mentioning it went up over the weekend. They did not clean the rooms due to COVID (June 2021), but did not tell us they would not be cleaning the rooms though they said they did. Apparently all three of us that checked in to 3 different rooms are deaf. What I found completely unacceptable was that a "maintenance person" was walking the halls and going into rooms after knocking loudly saying they were coming in. Were they checking to see if people had checked out...I guess it is possible though this was late in the afternoon and why wouldn't house keeping be doing that. The idea that "maintenance" is coming in your room when you are gone is very off putting. Also no "do not disturb" signs anywhere. I got one from the front desk which was promptly stolen by another guest or removed by staff. On the plus side...air conditioner was super cold, showers were nice and hot, and the towels were fluffy. Overall, this place just did not feel right...like the people running it didn't know what they were doing.

The manager and staff are phenomenal. Clean and safe environment. They made me feel comfortable because I was traveling alone. My stay was almost three weeks and I felt so very safe. The grounds were safe.

We stayed here for $67 a night including $10 for our dog. Our room was clean, but very dated/old. the bed was comfortable; we had a fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Because of the 'Rona we received a daily to go bag for breakfast that contained a bottle of water, honeybun, apple, and a granola-type bar. The sink is outside the bathroom; the hotel is right off of the highway and you can hear road noise while inside the room. Hotel is close to a lot of restaurants, but a lot of them are closed. Some of the front desk staff acted like they were doing you a favor by getting you a cup to make coffee in your room. This morning when I went to front desk the person at the counter looked like he just woke up and didn't say one word. suggestion, get another job if you don't want to be in a customer service job. Our room was near the pool and people were in there after the designated closing time and were loud (tip, ask for a room on the opposite side of the pool).and making noise going to/from the pool in the hallway. If nothing else, my dog seemed to like it, but I wouldn't stay here again.

I checked in. front desk people were very unfriendly and cold. Never told me the price of room of the money that would be taken out of my account for a hold until I checked my statement. Found someone elses trash in my room while packing up to leave the next morning. Toilet paper roll half used. Brought everything to staffs attention. She stated, "well you should have brought it up earlier". No apology, no embarrassment (which I would have had if I worked there). She was defensive the whole conversation until I hung up the phone. I would NEVER stay there again!
