I accidentally booked a grand chamber suite for a Friday, and not the Saturday that we arrived. A VERY expensive mistake. I was so upset with myself I was shaking and about to bust into tears. A man named ANDREW SAVED MY ENTIRE BIRTHDAY!!! If it were not for him saving the day NONE of our trip would have been possible! He was amazing and "thank you" could NEVER be enough for his OUTSTANDING customer service!!!! Above and beyond are not even legitimate words for what he did for us. He didn't charge the room for Friday (even though it was MY ERROR) then he gave us the same rate for Saturday and allowed us to stay even though it was MY mess up. I can not thank him enough!!! We drove 4 hours to stay at this amazing hotel. And Amazing isn't even in the dictionary for how iconic this place is. Beautiful, stellar, chic, bougie, boutique! This hotel is a show stopper. The interior design is a love child between the London underground and a New York fashion designer. The comfort and style are far beyond anything we've expirenced. Beautiful and smart furniture. Amazing technically. The amenities are ENDLESS. We signed up and booked through "In the know". Virgin Hotels own app. The bed was comfortable. The shower was big enough for a party. Between 4-5 there were unlimited, NO CAP, cocktails at Miss Ricky's. The service, once again, UNBELIEVABLE. Even know they though our drinks were free....they treated us like high paying socialights. We tipped big as a thank you. Also we had the fries with garlic aioli. OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING!! We then checked out the roof top bar. BAR NONE! to any night life expirence. Gorgeous and smart bean bag chairs on a roof top, with a low table and incredible view Again, IMPECCABLE SERVICE!!! We had an "it's my first day" waitress. She could walk circles around seasoned servers! We appreciated her so much (and I was too drunk to remember her name) it was July 31st....5pm. ) We spoke to the manager about her. This was our first time in Chicago. We have an unbelievable AMAZING TIME!! None of these expirences would of happened with out the kindness from Andrew! Thank you so much for saving my birthday!!!! We will absolutely be back. PS: dogs stay free and our dog LOVED IT here.…
Absolutely loved this hotel. My husband and I have been travelling around the country for the last month. This was my favorite hotel to date. I recommend to download the app and be "in the know" All sorts of perks come along with it. Downside, I learned that they recently made a massive price hike to the cost of the valet services which sucks. After walking around downtown I noticed that their are a lot of self service parking garages which are cheaper, of course, than the Valet. So it is a matter of your priorities whether you want to pay the $68 for valet or not.
This hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are beautiful. But be forewarned that you must have reservations to visit the restaurants inside the hotel. You cannot visit the rooftop lounge and restaurant without a reservation. They do not give you the option to make a reservation when booking the room nor at checkin. And they don’t warn you either. Other restaurants in the city are very accommodating if you call for a reservation the day you arrive though. Very disappointed in Virgin dropping the ball in this area.
Top notch service by the Virgin Hotels Chicago!! We set up a stay with 10 friends and we couldn’t of done it without Chad. From the time we booked fo the day we left everything was 1st class. I can’t tell you how fortunate we were to have the help and expertise of the hotel & concierge. I had an entire 3 day stay planned to perfection. The hotel was fabulous. The bar was exquisite. Leading a pack of 10 women is not an easy task but with the amenities of the hotel, the location which is beautifully centered within a radius of everywhere we needed to go & the help of extraordinary advisors… we couldn’t be more thankful to have been placed in the hands of the Virgin Hotel. Thank you for making not only our stay perfect but the future Brides weekend a trip to never forget!!
We have stayed at the Virgin twice before (once for our daughter's wedding with the entire wedding party) and this time the experience was disappointing. We left our room at 11:00 a.m., put on the housekeeping sign and no one came to service our room. When we arrived back at 10:30 p.m. and told the front desk, we did not even receive an apology (they did give us towels). The overhead rain shower would not work unless you literally held it down with one hand. The place to hang the hand towel was across the room from the sink, which made no sense. The pillows feel like they had been slept on by 2,000 people. Finally, in this age of COVID, having community toiletries instead of individual sizes are unacceptable. We are not coming back.
