Due to covid we decided to have our granddaughters birthday party here with one of her friends since a traditional party wasn’t possible. What a fabulous experience it was from the very start. Caroline Laroche, Guest Relations Ambassador was outstanding, she had arranged for balloons, birthday cake, swim time and lunch. We checked in and all the front desk personnel greeting our granddaughter with a happy birthday and made her feel extra special for her 7th birthday. The room was decorated with balloons and a fabulous Happy Birthday on the tv screen. We also had the camping experience which was set up in the room and it was adorable. The two girls were given teddy bear slippers along with teddy bears. The hotel made sure to make both girls feel special. The lunch we had the next day was excellent however the waitress was very uneasy about being around people and wasn’t personable at all and didn’t acknowledge the girls or our birthday girl. Everything else was top notch and we highly recommend staying at this location and I can’t say enough about Miss Laroche, she’s truly an asset

We enjoyed our first visit to the Peninsula hotel. It is a really 5 star hotel. I have been in other hotels in the neighborhood but the attention here was superior. Because of the pandemic, we couldn’t enjoy the restaurant in site but we did ordered in our room. Chinese food was excellent and real. The pork buns and fry vegetable were unreal. Breakfast was outstanding with many options including vegan options. Details in the room reminded me my stay in Japan. I love the fact that I could text directly the staff to request special things and make reservations, I even ordered special roses for my wife. We reserved the pool and we were the only one for 1 hour reserve. We have many memories that I can’t express all here. We will be back for sure.

Me and my husband came here to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary, on what we didnt anticipate to be such a crazy busy weekend in Chicago (it was memorial day weekend), and the service here was incredible. First off, Danny at the front desk was extremely kind and informative about the area and the hotel -- later on into our stay her personally asked us if our room was good & we were enjoying our stay, which we really appreciated, and of course the answer was yes! All the staff, from the greeters at the entrance to housekeeping are very friendly, courteous and professional. We ordered breakfast in bed one day - dont miss this! The food is delicious and you will feel like a queen/king the way that they prepare it for you in your room, and if you had a view like we did, it will be very hard to leave the room! Haha. The attention to details in the room is also amazing thanks to housekeeping and whatever system they use internally to communicate within themselves amongst the staff -- if we had any request or change made to one staff member, they sure did a good job of relaying it to th eother staff members. E.g., on night 1, we requestd an extra hypoallergenic pillow for my husband, so they brought us one while we kept the other down-filled pillows in the room. The next night, when they re-did all the bed, i was worried they had switched out the pillows, but they didnt. They had replaced both with the hypoallergenic pillows, which im confident is a sign of the internal communication they use to run this place with top-notch service. The lunch in the main buffet is also very good, the space itself is so gorgeous. Last, we had dinner at Shanghai Terrace (their in house chinese cuisine), SO delicious. Don't miss the Peking duck or the scallops! Anyway, to summarize, if you are looking for a romantic escape within a beautifully furnished room and impeccable service, consider this hotel! It is so clean and luxurious. If you stay here, you won't want to leave your room or the hotel - that's how you know you picked a good one!

Beautiful, comfortable room. Excellent customer service. Management sent up a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries on a bed of Turkish delight when they learned we were there celebrating our 11 year anniversary. We had a very restful night sleep on the super comfy bed.
