Our room was clean with updated contemporary interior that included a microwave and refrigerator. It was also quiet. There was an infant in a room next door that you could hear in the hall but while in our room you couldn't hear. I would definitely stay there again.
The staff at this hotel is incredible. They are very friendly, professional and helpful. Anytime we needed anything (extra towels, tissues, a/c looked at) it was dealt with promptly. Due to Covid, there is no housekeeping services, you put your trash/towels outside your door. The room was a decent size, nice windows, big bathroom, great shower and a microwave and mini refrigerator was in the room. Checking in is very difficult because the only place to unload is in a tow away zone. There are several garages close by, but not cheap. It was a pain unloading the car and having to load when leaving. The security is good, as is the location. It’s a relatively safe area, however, I definitely wouldn’t feel safe walking alone at night. The workout room is decent and clean. My major concern was the day I left I had several bites/rash on my elbow area and arm. They looked like bites and I’m still dealing with this, using lots of cortisone cream. Could it be a reaction to the sheets/detergent? Possibly. The other option freaks me out, so I suggest you check the bed (under the sheets) before settling in. The person I was traveling with, was in the other double bed and didn’t have any reaction. It’s been stressful dealing with these bites but I honestly don’t know if it was something in the bed, I wish I checked more closely, but I didn’t get the rash/bites until I was driving home. I just want to say, make sure you check the bedding, I normally do this at all hotels but didn’t this time. Lesson learned, always check under the bedding.…
They sell Breakfast included, even precisely "American breakfast" but they have no breakfast. Was told at Check-in that their kitchen is closed for months. And not easy to get a breakfast in this area.
When we arrived, the staff put the soccer game on in the lounge so that all of us could watch the game before heading up to our rooms. They were helpful and friendly. The next day, they kept our luggage in storage so that we could go on a long bike ride after check out. On return, we realized that we left an item so a staff member cheerfully went to check the room and retrieve it. Location is excellent, price is great and staff is wonderful.
I stayed here on a recent work trip, and chose it because it was a 5 minute walk from my office. As a first time visitor to the windy city, I had no idea just how lucky I was to choose it. So lets talk about the hotel first. It has friendly staff, and nice clean rooms. A bed, a TV, a mini-fridge, a bathroom, and a clean & comfy bed. Nothing to brag about here, but if you're spending time awake in your room, then you're wasting the beauty of this hotel's location. I can sum up what's great about this hotel in 3 words. Location, location, location. To start with, you're a 5 minute walk from the Willis Tower. 10 minutes for Michelin starred sushi. 15 minutes away from Grant Park, the Chicago Art Institute, and a million other great Chicago attractions are a short walk from your hotel. Chicago obviously has a reputation as a potentially rough neighborhood, but you'll have problems here. Tons of people around, lots of tourist sites, and there's always safety in numbers. If you want lay siege to all of the amazing sites that Chicago has to offer, the La Quinta will make a great home base.…
