Neighbourhood
South Loop
This downtown neighborhood offers a variety of activities ranging from cultural to sporting. If you happen to visit during football season, you may bump into a boisterous few fans on their way to a Bears game on the southernmost tip of South Loop. On the flip side, Museum Campus offers cultural and educational experiences in its planetarium, museum and aquarium, all situated along the lakefront. Grant Park is one of Chicago’s premier locations for green space and recreation with views of Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Take a stroll down memory lane in the historic Prairie District where you can enjoy views of old historic homes. Restaurants, theaters, and clubs are spread throughout the neighborhood along with a collection of burger joints along Michigan Avenue just across from the park.

Stayed here a few weeks ago and the Hotel itself can't be more than a year old. Room was spotlessly clean, modern as it is only a year old and the room had a view of the lake. The view is not that spectacular. This is in an area that it looks like the City is trying to develop

Just returned from a short trip to Chicago. Stayed at Marriott Marquis. It was awesome!! Could not have been better. Will definitely stay there again. The views from our room (32nd floor) were terrific. Parking was a bit of walk but not bad.

Do they offer shuttle services to downtown Chicago? I’ve heard from others not many restaurants choices near the hotel?
No shuttle but there are restaraunt choices you just have to be adventurous! I highly recommend the Baderbau Brewery for some libations.

Do gold Marriott members have access to the club lounge at this hotel?
Only Platinum members (any tier) have access to any Club Lounge at Marriott or Starwood properties after they merge both reward programs into one on August 18. Check their website to see if you were upgraded to Platinum as the requirements of points and night stays have changed.

I want to bring extra coffee for the coffee maker. Does the in room coffee maker use Kureg type pods or the older type flat packets?
No, it’s the old style.

We are trying to determine how long a walk it is to the south hall at McCormick Place. We are coming in as exhibitors for C2E2, and have stayed at the Hyatt in past years. I am my daughter's business partner, and will be in the middle of radiation treatment for breast cancer. She is concerned that if I need to go back to the room to take a rest it will be too long a walk. We know the area (former Chicagoans) and can't tell exactly where the bridge connects to McCormick. Thanks.
The walk to the west hall is 10 minutes. I did not go to the south hall. You never have to go outside. There is a bridge that connects to the parking structure. From there you access the McCormick Place.

How long does it take to walk to the South Hall of McCormick Place. We can't tell where the bridge connects to the convention center. We have always stayed at the Hyatt to work an event, and wanted to be sure the Marriott was not too far.
