The Stardust Motel has the warmth and hospitality of a "neighborhood motel," if there is such a term. It straddles the residential and commercial areas of Wallace. The motel's large grass area, its hammocks, and the nighttime quiet make it feel as if you're staying in a residential neighborhood, but you’re also within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, and the grocery store.
The keyless entry was a game changer. I could open my door with one hand, I didn't fret over a keycard’s proximity to my cell phone (which can erase a keycard), and not once did I say, "Wait, I can't find my key."
The building is older, but the plumbing and electrical worked without a hitch—good water pressure, toilets that flush quickly, and hot showers. The bed? So comfortable!! We visited in June, when the sun rises just after 4:00. Some rooms have blackout curtains, ours had standard curtains, so we used clothespins to limit the early-morning light.
Stardust Movie Night is free and open to the public. We set up beach towels, chatted with other moviegoers, and then laughed out loud watching The Sandlot.
What’s so refreshing about the Stardust is it goes beyond hosting, by connecting travelers to each other, to the people of Wallace, and to the history of Wallace, exactly what you’d expect at a neighborhood motel.

Great location-just one block to the historic downtown. The rooms are spotless and it's immediately noticeable from walking into the room that great care is taken. Even the baseboards and doors are spotless- things that are normally neglected. They've really thought it all out, from the full-size toiletries that are provided, to the cosmetic washcloths to the fridge and microwave and coffee maker. The two ladies working the front desk were a delight and so efficient working together to get everyone checked in. Easy parking, very comfortable beds and superb water pressure in the shower. This place is a gem.

I LOVE this place!! The new owner has brought a beautiful energy to this motel as well as wonderful improvements which beckon the weary traveler - at least it did this for me! We booked this place not quite knowing what to expect. Well it far exceeded our expectations. The place has and is constantly upgrading and refreshing this iconic property. We loved how accommodating they were and all the little services provided. When we returned from the Hiawatha rails to trails ride we were completely covered in mud from the rain. I asked if they had a hose I could use to clean our bikes and jeep. To my surprise not only did they have a long hose, but all the towels and items to clean our rig. The rooms are quite nice with the main floor rooms having access to the common grass area and fire pit. This is a pet friendly motel with everything one needs to enjoy a very nice easy experience. Great location not on a busy street. Will go back if in the area again. The staff was very kind and accommodating, even allowing us to check in early, which made our day of travel much easier. Enjoy!

This retro inspired gem of a motel in Wallace, ID (new management) is clean, quiet, filled with natural light and spacious. I got the Signature King Bed and the mattress was comfortable and I slept really good. Located near main Cedar St where most of the stores and bar/restaurants are located. Pet friendly.

What a wonderful little retro treasure! From the very warm welcome to our equally friendly departure this little gem is a treasure. From the incredibly comfortable beds (the pillows are exceptional) to local restaurant recommendations, exceptional cleanliness, and bright and airy rooms we cannot recommend the Stardust enough. We stayed at this motel for two nights. From booking to checkout, everything went smoothly . The owners and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was impeccably clean. The amenities in the room were very much appreciated right down to the cosmetic face wash cloths and quality bathroom amenities. Thanks for the great stay. We will be back!

If you are going to Wallace, don't think about staying anywhere else! It's perfectly situated... walking distance to everything you would want to see or dine at in town. The staff at this motel bends over backwards to make sure you have everything you need to make your stay special. They offer campfires at night where you can make "some mores", have outdoor movie nights, and offer the opportunity to play corn hole. This motel is especially good for bicyclists because they even have rags you can use to clean your bikes.

Excellent ! First we have arrived very early and the owner gave us our room and up to that we were set to leave our luggages, park the car and enjoy the city. The room is brand new and super clean. It was our first stay in a motel and we really appreciated it. Experience to be renewed for sure.

Not having a reservation during high season, l did not have a lot of expectations. We had stopped in the town before and were quoted a much higher price for a location with no amenities. Decided to drive down the road a little, and looked around the Wallace. We checked one hotel which was fully booked, and then decided to check out The Stardust. The cheesy Las Vegas type sign kind of scared us, but we were pleasantly surprised. The lady at the desk was very friendly. The cotton white beds were the most comfortable beds of our entire drive down Hwy 90. We enjoyed the Brew Pub around the corner with the ghost stories, and a hometown breakfast at another place also around the corner(I even purchased some huckleberry pure there). Mexican food in town was good, although they closed at 9pm. I especially thought the chocolate bars at the front desk were a nice touch.
