One of north Idaho's truly historic towns, Wallace offers hiking the Pulaski trail; Silver mine tours, historical tour of Wallace and much much more. The RV park is small but offers a few cabins, excellent shower and bath facilities and nearby restaurant and bar. All of Wallace is within walking distance although there's a nice bike trail toward Mullan, ID. where we saw moose! The Park also provided a small library of videos and DVDs and very helpful staff.

Room Tip: There's 20 spots along the creek and 20 along the road. You can't go wrong with any.

We only stayed one night but it was good. The only real issue we had was not the fault of the park. A lot of construction in Wallace and finding the right detour to get here was a bit hard, especially with a 29 foot camp trailer. Camp host was great as we had 5 campers in our group, they made sure we were all placed where we would fit. The area has a lot of fun historical things to visit. We made a visit to Nine Mile Cemetery right up the road. Having the Ninemile creek right there was nice to hear at night.

We were fortunate to get a spot on the creekside at this campground. It was so restful to listen to the water right outside our trailer. Campground is right next to the bike trail and walkable to downtown. Bathrooms/showers were very clean and Steve was most helpful when we had questions. Would stay here again if in the area.

Our trip started from western Washington and we planned to stop somewhere in Idaho. We decided not to make reservations so that we could see them first. So glad we did! Every campground we stopped at was sub-par, especially the ones at Couer d'Alene, where we really wanted to stop. We kept driving, went through town after town, every campground we found being poor quality or completely full with RV's. Finally, after driving through Wallace (very cute place) at 7 pm, we happened to find this jewel of a tiny RV park. They had mostly RV's, but very nice grassy areas for a tent and it was right next to a fast moving creek. There were lots of old mining equipment around to look at. There were really nice showers, nice bathroom, and it was very quiet. I think we were one of two tent campers. Price was phenomenal (not sure I am supposed to post prices, but it was the lowest we paid for camping on our entire trip). We would definitely recommend this for any campers, tent or otherwise. It is hard to find, there was only one sign and it was at the end of town, not on the highway.

While traveling thru Idaho we came upon this great little RV park that is also called “Down by the Depot” in some internet searches. It sits on a secondary road in town between two tall mountains and has a wonderful stream running thru it. We pulled our big rig (40ftr) in and backed up to the stream with plenty of room to park our toad in front. There is a grassy area between each level gravel pad that has room for awning and slides. There are no picnic tables or fire rings in the park so you will need to set up your own. Getting satellite will be tricky. If you back up to the stream you will need to set out a mobile dish in front of your rig, if you park on the road side you should get reception from your roof mount. There is very little road traffic during the day and hardly any after dark so it very quiet. Bathrooms and showers looked new and very clean. There is no laundry. Owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. A few small cabins sit on the opposite side of the creek and many of the sites looked great for tenting. There is no sprint in the area, ugh, but they do have free WIFI. It only works at the pub on property but that’s not too bad because the “City Line Pub and Restaurant” is very popular with locals and travelers alike and you can have a local brew while checking your email. Also, “Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes” bike trail, which is 72 miles long, runs right by the entrance to the RV park, and if you ride 11 miles to Kellogg you can get a great lunch at the Hill Street Depot.

What a pleasant suprise to see that this RV park has been updated and looks amazing considering what it has been in the past. We have been coming here for several years and it has always been just an old run down stop with a grumpy owner named Don whom we grew to love. But, the place was a disaster. Now, there are new owners and we were shocked at all the improvements made. They have totally remodeled the old building and turned it into a pub/restaurant that was busy and had people coming from all over to eat and drink the beer. I didn't eat there, but glanced at the menu and it was reasonable in price and others said the food was great. They built a new bathroom building, and added a few small cabins across the creek. It even looks like they cleaned out the old creek as it looks fresh and clean. The RV site itself is unchanged, really basic, gravel site to park and grass. The price was right at $25 for the two of us. They charged extra for children one guest told us.
This has always been our little secret, laid back, low key hide away, but with the improvements made I am betting it is going to gain in it's popularity. It is right on the Hiawatha bike trail in Idaho and makes for fun/easy bicyle riding. Others had their 4-wheelers and were riding trails.
We always enjoy August for the huckleberry season. There is a really old tavern on the corner that is a total dive of a joint, but.......has the best huckleberry pancakes! We like riding our bikes thru town and checking out the antique shops for fun. I love it that the locals ride their 4 wheelers in town, how cool is that! The town also offers a tour of the local mine.
We actually saw a moose and her calf walking down the off ramp from the freeway, not sure if they went up the ramp and turned around with the cars coming down it or how they got there, but was a suprise to see the moose in town. That was a first!

I came because my friends did and so enjoyed being here. I was worried being so close to the expressway it would be noisy but it wasn't. There was the nice gurgle of the stream passing by, super clean bathroom and showers and cordial owners. An easy well run place, under new management, very reasonably priced and right next to The City Limits Brew Pub which is also own by these new men. Good home brew and food and free WIFI around the pub.

This is a small RV park in Wallace. We stayed here based on its proximity to the Route of the Hiawatha. When we booked our site the gal said she would reserve us a creekside spot. When we arrived, I wasn't sure what the creek would be like. It was perfect! The sound of the running creek at night was so soothing. And my kids LOVED playing in it (and so did the other campers' kids and dogs.) It was a great creek! Our spot was very nice as well. It was a bit close to another site, but they made sure to book a smaller unit in that site. We also ended up meeting really nice people next to us. Funny, they were from SoCal too. It's amazing how many Californians you meet outside of California!

We stayed there right before ATV week and we could tell by our last night that the place gets packed for ATV week. it was already starting to get very crowded and feel like a party. We were glad to get out of there before it got too rowdy. But, when we were there it was perfect. We also loved the onsite brew pub. We went there twice for dinner. The food was good and the beer was great. And, that's the only place onsite with wifi...so we had long dinners in there!

A tip for travelers during the summer. There is a town pool that you can walk or bike to from the RV park. It costs $1 to get in. Totally worth it to cool down! Just go straight down the road through town until it dead ends.

Although the site wasn't what some would call 'roomy,' we had plenty of room for our needs. When we travel in our motorhome we don't spend a great deal of time at the site. We like that this location was right next to the Coeur d'Alene bike trail, near enough to access hiking trails, less than a block from the beautifully restored Wallace Northern Pacific Depot Museum, and walking distance to all downtown restaurants and shops.
The wi-fi is only available at the City Brewery Pub, less than a stone's throw from our site. However, it is always free, available and there are several nice tables and chairs outside in shade and sun to sit comfortably and access the internet. This park is dog friendly and there is plenty of room to walk and explore the area.

We stayed here after riding the Hiawatha Trail. There is no grass & the sites are small. We had a street lamp shining in the window. We wished we'd camped in the forest at the end of the trail. Their fee is for 2 people. They charge per person after the 1st 2.

Do you have any winter sites available?
Answer from mark B
We do have a few sites available for winter camping. There is only power and sewer and they rent for $25.00 a night.
Answer from Mark B.
Wallace, Idaho
Yes we have 45' back-in sites on the creek side, that are 50 amp. We are presently in our winter mode with no water or restrooms until mother nature raises the temperature enough to not freeze the water.
