This hotel would be just fine if it was clean. The lobby had a Sam Elliott kind of guy working the front desk. Seemed nice, cordial, smoky smells. The room itself was a little dated and small, like an older Motel 6, ok...I paid $45 including tax. I expect nothing more. My issue is cleanliness. The coffee pot had been used, but they didnt clean it, shower had grime on the bottom & it was deep heavy grime, I took lysol wipes to common areas, and it was a 50/50 shot if it needed more than one. Bed was comfortable enough which surprised me as it looks underwhelming. For this cheap you can provide little to nothing, but cleaning is a must.

The room I stayed in was in dire need of fresh air. Opening a window on the parking lot side resulted in wafts of cigarette ash and the smell of cigarette butts. Ashtrays were located in between every two rooms. Permanent residents of the motel frequently smoked outside their rooms. Smoke found its way into the room every time the door was opened. Unfortunately, one window on the side of the motel opposite the ash trays was broken and did not open. The bathroom window was small and did not help much with air flow. This motel is okay for smokers looking for a cheap room, but non-smokers will have to tolerate the nasty smell. The office attendant seemed uninterested in being there to welcome guests. The bed was fine, but the pillows were old and flat. Combining all four pillows equated to one pillow. The walls are thin enough that you can hear snoring from the neighbor's room. Highway noise was also evident, but to be expected. The walk into town from the motel is short and easy.

Room was very clean but very tired. Old-style motel but the price was good for the room. Only complaint was hearing the people upstairs walking around. Located within walking distance of restaurants and market. All listed amenities worked well.

This place is awful. My room smelled bad enough to make my eyes water. It was next to the laundry room and I couldn't tell if it was some kind of chemical cleaner or one of the neighbors was cooking drugs. I almost checked out and found another room, but I was tired from driving and skiing all day. I had to go buy air freshener and plugins. The permanent residents store all sorts of junk outside their rooms. The refrigerator microwave, TV and lamp were plugged into the same power strip. I had to get the manager to reset the breaker so I could turn on the TV. I would give it -1 star if possible.

It’s dirt cheap for a reason, it’s a dump. Slept in our ski cloths on top of the beds. Room on the 2nd floor, floors we saggy and squeaky with every step. Bathroom had mold imbedded in the seal around tub. Don’t bring the wife and kids, or girlfriend. Thought it would be a decent place to sleep and shower, didn’t do either. Couldn’t wait for daylight to get out.

Nothing fancy here but clean and quiet. Good place to stay after visiting Dave Smith Motors. Staff was friendly and prompt. If you're just passing through I would recommend this over the higher priced resorts.

We were looking for a cheap place to lay our heads for the night when passing through on vacation. The two good things about this motel: quiet and friendly staff.
Now for the bad. We could look past the flaws in the carpet and on the walls, even understand the hole in one of the towels. But, the worst part was when it came time to go to bed. The sheets were horribly stained--ick! So gross. We didn't even sleep under them. The blankets had hair all over them, yuck! I would never stay here again or recommend to anyone who values clean bedding.

The rooms are kept reasonably clean but smells strongly of cigarette smoke.
The carpet on the outside corridor upstairs , and the stairs are threadbare and apparently not been vaccumed/swept for months. The downstairs corridor are littered with cigarette butts which overflows to the edge of the car parking kerb.
Surely a case of lazy housekeeping for anything/anywhere beyond the rooms.

we wanted to stay overnight on the way to Yellowstone from Seattle ... Trail motel was the cheapest we could find in this vicinity ... we called up Mellisa much before we reached there because we wanted to travel as much as possible ... she kept the room key under the carpet for us so that we could get in anytime .. she was very friendly and helpful ... room was spacious too ! nothing fancy.. just a bed, bathroom and plenty of space ... even more to say.. within this cheap price , they have microwave and fridge in the room as well ... i would recommend, if people are looking for a cheap and overnight stay ...

My room was clean, updated, great sheets ( bring your favorite pillow). House cleaning as great - thank you!!! Yes there are residents - but of $60 - it's clamping compared to camping. I'll be back - hit Sams down the road for breakfast. Thank You Trail Motel.
