The girl that was there when we checked out I believe they said her name is Kylie (kaylee)? Is terrible. Rude, condescending… She rolled her eyes when I made a statement to her at the front desk as I was leaving about only having one bath towel in the room and that the room trash baskets didn’t have liners. She didn’t answer the phone when I called down to have more towels brought up to us. She’s the reason I will not be back at this super 8! I called when the assistant manager came to work the same day that we checked out and I was told she would have the manager (Tina) call me on Monday. I still have yet to hear from her.
I approached the front desk, and said my name so the young lady would look me up. She said she could not find me. I then showed her my pre paid receipt. She made a call to a manager. She said in essence that my card had been denied several times between the third party company and her hotel so they cancelled my reservation... I pre paid. This is an issue between the 2 companies, not me, I pre paid, and was charged...
I once again showed her my receipt and told her in so many words that I did my part, now Super 8 needs to fix the problem. She raised her voice saying "I'm just doing my job". We went back and forth for a moment and I realized she had no interest in making this right, providing good customer service, or being professional. I gathered my bags and headed for the door. I then said, what will happen when my credit card has been charged? My card by the way has been charged. She again rambled about something between the third party company and Super 8. I said fine and was headed to the door. Across the lobby she yells, "have a nice night"...which about put me in to a tail spin. Terrible customer services. I did the only thing I could do, leave (my paid hotel), and drive the 50 minutes to the next town which I did and rented a wonderful hotel that I have stayed at several times that is the complete opposite of this hotel.
I have since received a managers email about this as I emailed the building. Again, with the explanation why my "paid" room was not given to me. Again, terrible customer service. They are very motivated by not having a perceived problem than by fixing a problem they ar part of.
Some helpful information:
Breakfast is basic, but there are pancakes and yogurt at least. I don't remember seeing any fruit.
Parking lot is big enough to park a big truck + trailer assuming the hotel isn't packed.
Big mini-fridge in the room.
Only one small light in the entire room, so don't expect it to be very bright at night.
We were happy that our dogs were allowed (but don’t walk on their grass because there is poo not cleaned up) and the staff was friendly and helpful with fresh towels and tp. (that’s why we are giving a 2 instead of a 1).
We understand it’s not a large motel but if you plan on meeting with others (we tried to meet up with family) there’s no place to do it as the rooms are too small. It would be nice if the lobby was bigger, or there another place. The small breakfast area was closed during non breakfast hours.
"Do NOT recommend this hotel, brother stayed across the street at Best Western Plus which is much better"Read full review
