We slept 1x night over on our way back to JHB. Reception was very good and friendly. The buildings are a bit close to each other therefore limit outside privacy. Room was very neat and has provided everything we needed for 1x night. I recommend this guest house as a perfect stop to refresh and rest for the next day. The staff was very friendly and helpful

The Geluksdam impresses immediately on arrival: it's a group of spotlessly clean, well-designed buildings - apartments and rooms - clustered around a courtyard. The edges by the paths are filled with flowers (and tomato plants). There's a charming little restaurant, which is also the main welcome area. The hosts are very welcoming, offering advice and good wishes. There's solar-powered lighting in the rooms in case of load shedding ... and the room we were in had a microwave and fridge as well. Very tasteful decoration; good showers and comfortable beds; parking beside your room (which has its own entrance) ... and lots of peace and quiet. We really enjoyed Olifantshoek as well - people were very pleasant (and the slaghuis nearest the hotel - the one with the Green Kalahari mural - makes excellent biltong!)

The sleepy town of Olifantshoek is known for its hospitality and biltong. Thank you for staying over. All rooms are now aiconditioned. Not all rooms are self catering, but all have fridges and some microwave ovens. Guests are welcome to make use of the main kitchen. We offer breakfast and dinner. Laundry on request. Travel safe.

We visited Oligantahoek for a friend's wedding. Our room was lovely and sunny and the service friendly. Breakfast the next morning was a delight.

This review is relatively objective being my 15th road trip - this time staying at 7 properties over a 21 day period.

Stayed for one night in September solo enroute to the West Coast.

Easily found - adequate/secure parking.

The host and all staff were friendly and efficient.

Relaxing ambience in the small, but well kept garden from where the units are accessed from. Each unit/room has it’s own compact sitting area outside.

Spacious enough, clean and comfortable room. Bathroom was a walk in shower wet room - decent water pressure and temperature. Room was cool enough despite Eskom load shedding.

No external night noise - a good nights sleep.

Evening meal was a hot buffet with decent enough choices. Very good ‘home cooked’ quality. Decent wine on sale too. Breakfast was a hot buffet with eggs cooked to order again - good quality.

Excellent overall value

If I’m looking for a pit stop on this route again, I’ll return.

We stayed in a double room at Geluksdam Guesthouse enroute to Cape Town from Botswana. The room was tastefully decorated with clean, crisp linen and thoughtful extras such as the homemade rusks to enjoy with morning coffee. The owners are very friendly and hands on in. We loved the muesli, fruit and yoghurt in a wineglass served with breakfast. If you need overnight accommodation you will not be disappointed.

We have booked a room for two on our trip back to Cape Town. This place is a gem and we were surprised by the room, the whole set-up and the reception we received on arrival. The room was clean with fresh linen, tea and coffee station and all that you would need for a night's stay. The owner was helpful and friendly. We had a relaxing sleep over knowing that our car and trailer were parked in a secure yard. I will definitely stay there again and can recommend it to every traveler to stop there.

We booked a double room at this lovely haven midway to the kgalagadi. The reception handled by Bafana was excellent and the hosts friendly and heartwarmly. This guest house has a clean and fresh look and the rooms were immaculately furnished with fresh clean linen. Would like to suggest that the owners provide breakfast included for the price of the accommodation.

Our overnight stay on the way to Augrabies - what a little gem in the middle of nowhere!!
We arrived to a warm welcome from Bafana, and soon we were in our room. The room was airy and perfect, had a tea station and a TV. We had booked dinner and this was prepared and served by Bafana - well priced and a good meal. Breakfast was served in the main building, which has a farmstyle kitchen, and you are surrounded by wonderful wooden tables and old style chairs and antiques. Good breakfast.

What a beautiful place, they have a mix old furniture and then more update furniture. My booking was for 4 adults and I haven’t taken notice of the comment 1 room. Great was my surprise when we arrived to see the beds in one room, the family Flat. The room is comfortable and beds of good quality. The bathroom need a bit of upgrading as the shower is over the bathtub with no curtain or shower glass preventing you from messing on the floor. The manager and staff was excellent, we requested if we can braai and in a few minutes everything was ready for us. They prepared a tray with all the utensils we would need. The WiFi was not great at our room as it is to far from the main building. Breakfast was good.

A great comfortable place at the end of Olifantshoek. Within easy walking distance of the supermarkets etc on the main road of this welcoming friendly town.
The manager was great - very welcoming and the food was just superb - A delicious curry for dinner and a great breakfast.
I wasn't quite so impressed with the staff as they didn't carry on the welcoming demeanour of the Manager / Owner.
Definitely enjoyed staying here
